Appearently the lead had a drug problem leading the producers to have to end this series (I read that somewhere). I, like many others, really was enjoying this series. I'm almost O.K. with them casting somone else as the lead if we could follow this series through. ❤
This series was so much better than Twlight, Vampire Dairies
and True Blood. They need to bring it back. They need to finish this series.

Even if he looks almost nothing like Dracula as mentioned in the book, Jonathan Rhys Mayers managed to capture his essence really well (his nobility and sleek talking as well as his hidden violent character and passion) and at the same time add something of his own to make the role his. He was a great actor in this series.

It's probably illegal to tie him to a bed and lock the door then leave him there till he's clean. In between tapings they would need to keep him locked up just bring him meals, scripts, access to a TV. In the current market, you can kill him off and let Lucy become the lead.

To be honest I always hated the whole Dracula and Mina love story that media would concoct, even in the 1992 film because it made no sense. This is a man who tortured her fiance and then murdered and possibly raped her best friend, she should love someone like that? In the 1992 flim Dracula pretty much feels that he's entitled to Mina just because she was "possibly" his wife in another life. He barely considers her feelings at all. Yes he does resist turning her until she gives her consent but that was literally one scene and to me it's just not enough to make up everything else he did. And I thought Mina was pretty cruel to Johnthan for cheating on him. He was completely loyal and devoted to her, in fact he was willing to become a vampire himself if she couldn't be saved, just so she wouldn't have to be condemned alone.
However I liked it in this series. In this adaption Dracula actually thinks about Mina's feelings and her well being. He supports her relationship with Johnathan even though she's the reincarnation of his wife and he doesn't do anything to harm Johnathan or Lucy until both parties do something to hurt Mina. He also supports her dreams and goals, and he basically waits for her consent throughout the entire series. And he also fears turning her way early on. You can tell he loves her and wants to be with her but he feels that he doesn't deserve her because of what he is. This is literally the only Dracula and Mina love story I like and support.

I agree he is far more like able and always seems to have the best advice. I usually would prefer Mina to be with Johnathan but Alexander (Dracula)and Mina I didn’t mind them ending up together at the end of this series.
I would love to see this tv series come back. It’s one of my favorites. I was sad to see it cut short.

@@Vesnicie Well it serves the character though. Dracula is a Romanian vampire that pretends being American. The inconsistencies in accent (I still am surprised that you can tell the difference by the way since I am not native English speaker) are part of his character. His accent is fake in both real life and in the series.
Alexander Grayson is a fake identity. His American accent is supposed to be barely 10 years old, as long as they needed to wind their plan with Van Helsing
His character isn't american he's supposed to sound the way he does as he's faking it in the show. hence the scene where Renfield was correcting him on schedule.

It is not a movie. It is a series. You can perhaps search it as "NBC Dracula". The episodes should be out somewhere.
