    Thanks so much. I used this video to replace 4 drum roller wheels, pulley tensioner and the belt. Parts cost $30 on Amazon and about 2 hours of time which included deep clean of lots of lint. This video saved an expensive service call.

    @Online Appliance Tech Thank you for the detailed video! Best one I’ve found for LG dryer not heating diagnostics. Our LG gas dryer went out last Monday and I was able to tear it down, use a multimeter to pinpoint the ignition as the root cause, replaced it and the thermal fuse for good measure. Put it all back together and was stoked to hear the gas ignition on the first try!
    Seriously, you saved my vacation! I start a week off tomorrow for family vacation and we are able to get our laundry done at home now before we leave.

    Thank you so much for this video! It's the best one in UA-cam for this type of dryer.
    We had a sewer backup into our basement and the washer and dryer were in up to 6 inches of water at one point. They were in water for maybe 2-3 hours total. We cleaned the washer and it is working fine.
    Using your video, we opened the top of the dryer, removed the front housing of the dryer with the door attached, and removed the metal housing that the lint trap goes into. That had lint inside that had gotten wet and it smelled bad. We cleaned that up really well, and i dried the standing water out of the casing for the blower. We did not remove the the drum. We cleaned as much as we could reach. We left it to dry overnight and then reassembled it. We had two screws leftover. 😬
    Turning on the machine was fine. We started a test cycle, and the machine ran normally except for a constant squealing sound that we had not heard before. Any ideas what might be wrong? Squeals to me often mean a belt issue.
    I don't feel capable of removing the drum and belt and putting that back on correctly, so i suspect we may need to just call a technician if the problem would likely require removing the drum.

Guessing it’s just coming in through the outside vent (I am in VA & it’s very hot & humid here), but wanted to know if you’ve experienced this or had any other recommendations to prevent it.

It started working for a few loads and then stopped again with the same error code. I opened it back up and checked again, everything is reading correctly on the multimeter this time so not sure what the problem could be now. Same error. Is it the circuit board itself possibly?

      Seems like you have a blockage, meaning restricted air flow. Check your duct work from your dryer to the wall to make sure it is not bent or clogged up.Unfortunately you will have to replace the fuse again, or you could tap it on its back to reset to save you time. Just make sure you hear it shake or rattle on the inside, That lets you know it's reset. Hope this helps.

    Nice video how do u test the moisture sensor on that same machine my dryer turns on for like 2 minutes then the clock switches to 1 minute then end on the screen technician came to fix it said the air duct needed to be cleaned but it's clean

    • @onlineappliancetech
      @onlineappliancetech  2 роки тому +2

      Sounds like air flow? A good way to test is to disconnect the air duct from the back of the dryer and see if it runs longer? If it does great that means it's your vents that would need to be cleaned Also make sure you place a load of damp clothes in the dryer before you test so it can detect them. If none of this helps please send me model number. Best Regards Matt...

    Great Video! I have a te1 code so after replacing the thermistor and sensors right next to it I still get the te1 code right away. The igniter had a reading up in the 300’s, could that be my issue? LG gas dryer model DLG7301VE

    • @onlineappliancetech
      @onlineappliancetech  Рік тому +1

      The TE1 error code on your LG Dryer model DLG7301VE typically indicates a problem with the thermistor, a component that measures temperature within the dryer. This error is often triggered when the dryer does not properly detect or read the temperature.
      The issue can be due to a few reasons, such as:
      The thermistor might be defective or damaged.
      There could be a problem with the wire harness connected to the thermistor, possibly due to a loose connection or a wire short.
      In rare cases, it could be an issue with the control board that reads the thermistor's resistance.
      It is recommended to unplug your dryer and check the thermistor and the wiring for visible damage. If there's no visible damage, you might need a multimeter to test the thermistor's resistance. However, please be aware that this requires a level of technical competence. If you're unsure, it may be best to contact a professional to help diagnose and fix the problem. Hope this helps! And best of luck!

    • @bradlane811
      @bradlane811 Рік тому

      I have checked the thermistor with my multimeter and it was good, I still replaced it but this did not solve my problem. The wires look good so I’m leaning towards the board being the problem. Is there a part number or is this something only a technician can replace?

The machine turns on and shows that it's “running” (it even counts down and ‘acts’ like its running a cycle,“. I once got the “NP” error code, but it has since disappeared. I checked the breaker and confirmed that my wall outlet and plug are both drawing 240V. Could this be a belt drum issue, or is it related to the blower housing thermostat or fuse? I'm unsure how to check the latter. I have also done a wifi diagnostics and everything checked out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello My 2-3 year old LG dryer stoped heating recently. I checked my vents and they were really clogged prob from previous owner. I cleaned out the vents and found out about the reset button. Dryer started heating for a few loads but stops heating after a few loads. I have to always hit the reset button after one or two loads. Do you think I should replace the thermal fuse? I’m sure it’s prob hard to say without properly inspecting everything but do you think this is the most common problem? I watched your video and a few others and think it’s something I could do. I just don’t have all the testing equipment to test everything. Thank you

Do you have the link for the thermal fuse connected to reset button or Is this essentially the same part?

    • @onlineappliancetech
      @onlineappliancetech  2 роки тому +1

      Open the door, turn the drum clock wise, if it is hard to turn you will need to replace roller wheels . Reason why is if your drum is not moving at the right speed due to rollers not allowing the drum to move at the right speed hot air will be trapped inside of the drum and cause the fuse to trip. Also when you replace wheels make sure to clean all air flow inside of the dryer well.

    • @onlineappliancetech

      Could the issue be a broken door switch? Alternatively, it might be the main control, but it’s hard to determine without seeing it firsthand. You can try opening the door and pressing the switch to ensure it moves in and out properly. If it got wet and froze, it could be stuck and not closing properly. Hope this helps!

    I have model DLE5001W.
    Door switch has 2 wire connector besides the door switch itself. Can’t seem to find info on where they go.
    Comment?

    • @onlineappliancetech
      @onlineappliancetech  Рік тому

      For the LG dryer model DLE5001W, the door switch will have a specific connector that is meant to attach to a corresponding part of the dryer's wiring harness. This is to ensure that the connection is made correctly and safely. The two-wire connector you have should only fit into its corresponding connector in one way-this is by design to prevent incorrect wiring which could potentially cause malfunction or pose a safety risk.
      If you're not seeing where it should connect, or if the connection isn't obvious, then:
      Double-check the user manual for a wiring diagram or installation guide for the door switch.
      Look for any markings on the wiring harness that might indicate the correct connection point.
      Examine the connectors for unique shapes or color-coding that might match the harness.
      If still in doubt, it's advisable to consult with a professional technician or reach out to LG customer support directly for guidance.

    • @rickeykeeton4770

      @@onlineappliancetech Gonna look for the user manual today. I cannot visually find another connection for the two wire connector.
      Thanks for the response.
      If I can’t find the answer, I may just scrap it for parts. Wire burnt in the cutoff and high limit thermostat has come apart. Both test bad.
      I might straight wire them for testing purposes since parts seems to have gone up in price so much, and I am a little leery of LG’s.

    • @rickeykeeton4770
      @rickeykeeton4770 Рік тому

      My dumb ass found the connection for the two wires.
      It fit the drum light. SMH.
      I am pretty sure I checked for that, but I was just haphazardly placing the the front parts if the dryer in place by hand and in sort of a hurry. I didn’t think the the wires were long enough. Checked again and they are for the light.
      Reminds me of a few times I forgot to connect lid switches on washers.

    I have the same dryer but mine is electric not gas, the problem I’m having right now is that whenever it starts it just makes a loud humming noise for a second then stops, it doesn’t spin, im not sure what’s wrong with it

      It seems like either the motor is shorted or the blower wheel might be jammed, preventing the motor from starting.

      @@onlineappliancetech I took apart the dryer and took off the blower wheel, I started the dryer without anything hooked up to the motor, it made the same humming noise, the motor twitch but didn’t spin so I ordered a new motor hopefully that’s the problem, thank you for the information

      @@JuanFlores-nl9nc Hey I have the electric version as well it's a dle7001w model, basically the same as in the video but he doesn't go over testing the Motor. I had the same issue you described, when I turn the machine on it makes a humming noise and isn't spinning while everything else seems to be working like normal. How did your motor replacement go, did it fix your problem? And if you don't mind where did you buy your parts. Motor isn't seized and turns easily, machine was pulled out of storage recently and worked for about 3 loads but I thought the motor did sound a little loud, now it did what you described. Thanks in advance I hope I see a reply.

      @@mikeking561 the way I tested the motor by putting the dryer back together but without the drum in it and I use the belt to pull up on the pulley so it’s not pressing the off switch, then you want to turn on the dryer like normal and if you see the motor kinda twitch but not spin then it’s the motor, there’s not much that can go wrong on these dryers

    Out of warranty.
    Retailer delivered this one a year and one month ago.. now wants 20% of cost for new one just to come service. Old one was from the eighties always worked like a tank. I should not have let them take it when they delivered this one. Thanks for the video.

      Sorry I do not understand the question? Do you have a digital multimeter? And did you place it on the OHMS settings? If you could tell me what the multimeter said before you place it on the part and when you are testing the part. Please get this information to me and I will try to help you.

      It appears that your ductwork may be clogged, causing the fuse to trip. You should ensure that the ductwork leading from the dryer to the outside of the house isn't backed up. Additionally, inspect the ductwork to ensure there are no bends that might restrict airflow from the dryer.
