I did this fix about a year ago and it worked GREAT. Now the cable is out of adjustment again. I won't worry if I have to do it once a year. It's an easy fix. Thanks my friend.
Thanks for learning a second language , and speaking it well! Also helpful video I have one of these junks outside haha thank you!
Dude, you are the BOMB!!! My clutch was slipping. I took it to my mechanic and he said I needed a new clutch. $400.00 later I still had a slipping clutch. He gave me a bunch of excuses: I bought a cheap ass clutch [guilty!], there's oil in there etc. etc.. What was in there was BULLSHIT. The clutch had 150K on it so I don't mind the replacement but I nearly burned out the new one. Now I can once again burn rubber in 4 gears with my little un-turboed 2.0L. THANKS!
Thank you very much my friend! My cable broke some days ago and yesterday, after installing a new one, it still had no action to the pedal. I didn't knew I had to adjust it! It's for sure a 2 people job, but sure it was quick and easy with your instructions! Thank you very much once again!
Very helpful, thank you. I just inserted new clutch cable and this information made it a lot easier
awesome thank you this fixed my clutch problems. and only took 10 minutes.
+John Erikson you welcome im glad the video was helpful
did your clip break? im hoping its not my release arm!
Was your clutch slipping under load?
thanks for this, totally debunked the myth, fixed mine in 5 minutes including jacking the car up, super helpful!
+radiocontrolgreg thanks man im glad it helped you😀
I have one thing to add to my man's fix. I'm a small guy and had trouble holding it the way the video showed. I also had no assistant at the time I was applying the fix. If you look at a new clutch cable there's a plastic piece that holds it sprung [fully extended] until you get it installed. You then pop the plastic piece off and it's in. Before I sprung it the way it shows in the vid I wrapped some baling wire around the top where the rubber boot encloses the spring. Once I got it sprung I held it and secured the baling wire around the two tabs that remain from the original plastic retainer. That gave me two hands to get the thing reinstalled. I hope that helps.
Thank you very much, i've just changed my clutch and had no clue how to adjust my cable.
+Trukise your welcome
Thank you Sir. Your video helped tremendously!
Will this help a high clutch? My clutch engages about a 1in from releasing it.
It seems my clutch is good but it doesn't engage until the clutch pedal is almost fully extended. Would you know if I can adjust it to engage sooner?
Thank you a hundred times over squalo 777!
My name's johnny antunez, i own a mk3 98 VW Golf gl 2.0
I crashed her into a curb in 1st gear on the passenger side. I dropped the sub-frame changed out the Rack and Pinion, Sway bar, passenger & driver side control arms! Didn't have a lineage caliber for the shifter so free lanced that shit. Ended up with no reverse, so I watched your video thinking it could be the cable, maybe it got messed up while I was fixing something else. Ended up changing out the whole cable... mind you, I'm about to turn 40, (feel like 28 over here) this is my first car I've ever owned & i just got her 2 years ago... I've never worked on ANY CAR. Im not a mechanic in any meaning of the word!
I remembered your video & watched it again.
Still couldn't figure out why i couldn't shift No gears, master slave? Dot 4? Brake bleed? Suspension problem possibility? Passenger CV problem?.....
4 months after fixing the initial problem... & this time I was referred to your video SQUAL 777...
I habe to put my transmission back in, (& im doing it by myself so PLEASE BE PATIENT, because I'll have to remember to get back on here. But I know when i did it the first time, (the cable adjustment) i didn't do it right. I'll let you know what happens.

Great video 👍🏻
It's the last part I'm having trouble with. If the part is all the way down, how do you get it back up? (The part that the cable end sticks into).
What you did was a reset of the selfadjusting part of the wire
Chodź nie znam języka ale filmik dużo mi dał dzięki wielkie
The video is very helpful, but there is a part for locking of the mechanism who is missing at this cable.
Simple thank you a bunch. Good video
Thanks for the video bro. I am having a really hard time with this pseudo-auto adjusting mechanism. Mine, a Polo 6n2 also does feature this cable, what i did is keep adding some grommets at the end line of the cable to pull actually the pedal out. The problem did came back again as the cable kept loosening throughout normal usage. I finally damaged somehow the "clutch release fork (lever)", the one being pointed in 1:38, and now it sustains crazy free play in all directions! The pedal is now stiff and malfunctioning since the lever is blocked on the engine during its movement. I am frustrated :(
Great video, very helpful. Thank you
Glad it was helpful! you are very welcome
Thanks for the vídeo my friend. I have to adjust my cable because my cable locker broke and i had to replace it. só thanks again

I am having a problem with that arm..... It's loose I can even lift it up with my own hands? What could be the problem?
Thank you very much for your tutorial.
Mine is getting stuck about half way and it's brand new any idea? I can't take off in 1st like I used too it drops to about .5rpm
I can't pull the cable that far away, how do i do that?
hey bro , is the metal thing that clips in the clutch the thing that can brake ? is that what u talking about that can brake ?
This is an absolutely bitch to deal with but you made it easier, man. Thank you.
What's the name of that lever that the jack went under? Mine doesn't go up that high after doing a motor swap...
Worked for me, thanks man!
your welcone, Glad it helped you 😃😃
My cable must be done for. I did this trick, and at first the clutch is indeed adjusted, but after pushing the pedal a few times, the clutch cable decompresses anyhow and the clutch starts slipping. Guess I'm gonna have to replace it.
Great job have the same problem. Thanks
thumbs up, it works! thx!
I used zip ties to hold my clutch there but they slipped and it shortened again. I thought it would be impossible to get it back through the arm!
Tank tou man, really Save me some money!

I have a question does it matter is the triangle pieces can go left or right and is that still the original clutch cable or an aftermarket one
it's the original bro I don't really know what you mean by the triangle pieces the point is to pull that cable all the way out lol
+squalo777 videos ok, it the piece that you put under the Jack Stan to lift it up
+Sasuke Uchiha it doesn't really matter as long as you lift it
I'm a bit lost, can someone please explain it to me
great video it helps me a lot , thank u :)
+evgeniturbocharger thanks man im glad the video was helpful 👍👍😀
if the clip doesnt stay on after this process its most likely the clutch release arm or the clutch cable. correct?
