iBDW is actively killing melee by whining after every loss, calling competitors piece of shit and complaining how toxic people are to him (they are not), lying about abuse and throwing players under the bus with false allegations. Cody is a cancer for the game and it's a shame he's top 10 right now.
Commentary was fun at first but then you guys took it too far and began beating a dead horse. I get that this is your local and y'all are just having fun, but what Swooper did here was legitimately incredible and worthy of praise. His obnoxious/silly play this set was ultimately successful, and at a certain point you guys should have remembered that this was a serious match between one the best players in the WORLD versus a guy who mains a character that has never won a major tournament before.
The thing about maining someone other than Spacies is that the non-Spacey player will have an infinite number of Spacey players to practice against. Spacey players will only get few chances to practice against anything else. That's why Spacies will never be the only characters played competitively.
Really? I listened cause i was curious about this comment and i didnt think so; i think they were playing up the funniess of swooper camping ledge, doing silly/trolling options while beating cody who is one of the best players ever. Maybe they at some point could have switched to talk about “how big the upset is” but i think their take was not belitting or discrediting, just talking about how confidently/meme-y swooper played
@@Ryobeat I mean, the commentary is pretty spot-on for Melee, but that's damning with faint praise, as Melee commentary is known for being low-brow. TheSWOOPER (all caps when you spell the man's name) played well, and fair from ledge is a legitimately strong option for Samus. It got punished a ton, too, so it's not like it's what won him the set. What it comes down to is when people are commentating and do not understand high-level Melee, they are left to perform as meme-sters and hype machines. Case in point, TheSWOOPER almost won in the Losers runback as well.
@@quadZ_z I agree it was entertaining, relative to the low-brow Melee commentary standard ("damning with faint praise"). There are many ways to skin a cat. Chroma has a great voice for commentary. At the same time, it was high-key disrespect to TheSWOOPER. It wasn't adulatory; it was mocking.
@@osirisra1476 no it wasn’t disrespect it was hype. They hyped up Swooper all set. It’s more damning to expect commentators to do high level analysis here. Especially at a smaller tournament like this. It’s not like there’s any reasonable pay, and there’s only a few good technical and high-level melee commentators worldwide.
Watching shit like this makes me think this game is so ass. Just watching one dude camp out another dude while he tries to play the game. At the optimal level thats all this game is
this is one of the sets of all time
This is a very, very set.
Yes, it is a set.
A set, is what this is
Out of all the sets I’ve seen, this is one of the sets.
It’s almost as good as Morbius, the movie of all time
The Samus meta is to play in a way that annoys your opponent until they start getting flustered. It works so well.
watching the happiness drain from ibdws eyes throughout the set was hilarious
ibdw saving melee by going to tournaments like this.. one of the best sets I’ve seen in 10 years of watching melee. Just so much fun.

@@timmasters1195yeah how dare cody take medication to cope with a medical issue, literally killing the game smh
it looked like cody was playing melee and swooper was playing super metroid
Underrated af
Every time Swooper just fucking walked across the stage I nearly peed myself... What the fuck was that lol
I’m switching mains. Goodbye 7 years of falco, I have a new favorite projectile
Good call
Samus winning 2 games vs fox on FD is big brain energy haha
More like hanging brain energy

The swooper providing serotonin for all us YT watchers

I was a bit bummed, and this set cheered me up, that's insane. Congrats to TheSWOOPER.
i literally couldnt stop laughing at 2:51 my god that walk is absolutely hilarious

This set was fucking godlike
fuck I love hearing cheering when watching melee it feels right
Big IBDW fan. I cheered for swooper as soon as the second game started
This is specifically so funny cause it’s on ibdw
the swooper makes me really happy as a samus main this is the representation samus mains needed
swoopers walk is the fastest slow thing ive ever seen
i die everytime he does it
Fair from ledge confirmed unbeatable.
Also 3:25 Chroma with the psychic commentary call
Dude you’ve been everywhere in melee for so long wtf
@@Barynnthepally All my homies love SSB_Seal

Go swooper !!! Such speed with Samus always stuns me !!
I love seeing top fox players get shown up by mid tiers, especially my own main, samus.
Oh right, Samus is a character in this game, I forgot.
The commentary is wonderful
7:22 Cool guy move incoming
That was awesome
I think every samus, top level and low level, are just constantly fighting the urge to go for the same exact cheese in the same exact scenarios
Swooper showing us new technology.
you've never seen fair from the ledge like this.

That was some beautiful Samus right there.

Cody made this about the ledge when he spammed shine spikes on game 1
Sigma Samus
There's more sigma Samus nowadays. This character has a lot of ways to play different with
this is like watching a couple fight in public
I don't all the hate, if it works it works.
man the commentators were so PISSED that Cody got messed up
So this game explains why Cody had that argument with MTK over the Fox vs Samus matchup.
What argument
@@eliseoc.g.6465 Basically Cody thought that Samus had a better matchup vs Fox than Yoshi, and Mew2King thought that Yoshi had the better matchup.
GIGACHAD SWOOPER
How come every netplay falco i play against Can cover fair from ledge but ibdw can’t?
1:40
"what"
Free hax$
Leffen?
First of all I’m calling the police
Second of all, who’s combos are these
Third of all,, swooper is laying down that sauté

LOLOLOLOL
Commentators are so reductive lmao it’s lame as hell

Where tf is the camping?
Man who has only watched one set of melee has an opinion
being on ledge is generally risky. It's not like it's just free to camp.
