Nelson lives on through these films he had so much talent. He captured people in a natural way without being intrusive. I hope there will be more...He is unforgetable!
Difference is that everyone has access to recording equipment ie a phone (and I suspect way better editing equipment than Nelson had access to).... and an even bigger difference is that Nelson was a REALLY talented fly-on-the-wall film-maker (IMO most vloggers are not).
Aside from Nelson’s technique, I absolutely love his dry sense of humor. He was the perfect vessel to transport us through time. Thanks for the tribute!
Not to mention his technique.. He was filming smooth, sharp shots over long periods of time using a handheld camera that is pretty fucking heavy. He was not a strong man, yet turns out this amazing movies.. True legend! Thank you so much for paying him some respect and telling his story in a way I've never heard before!
I truly enjoyed this beautiful informative biography of Nelson. It is such a shame we lost him at such a young age. He was a real gem with so much to give. I really wish Nelson Sullivan and Dick Richards would still be here with us today. They were such caring and kind gentlemen with so much to offer. It is such a shame they are both gone. I love and enjoy your channel very much.❤❤
Truly a free Spirit who shed light on a glamorous lifestyle of culture , talent and bravery. Nelson Sullivan is responsible for forging a path with his camera and eye for the moment. This world is better place because of him and he did it with a Gentleman Southern flair.
I somehow got served up with Nelson's McDonald's trip a few years ago on UA-cam and absolutely fell in love! I have watched everything posted to the 5ninth UA-cam channel and wish they would keep on uploading
Great job on this. I love your delivery. I find all of these people extremely fascinating and thoroughly enjoy watching all the content I can on or about them. Thank you!
Great video. Been subbed to ur channel for a year now. I know everything you put out. Factual and caring information. Thank Retro. Much love from Germany 🇩🇪
I’m still sad about all of this, how it all came to be, with Christina superstar dead, Nelson dead, and Michael Alig a gruesome murderer, and now too gone. It’s a Greek tragedy that played out in real life ❤
@@ShotgunNShacK Mentioning someone a few times in passing over the course of thirty years is not the same thing as constantly singing someone's praises, which RuPaul would do had Nelson been black. And you know it.
If only we could time travel to hang out with Nelson, Christina and Blackout. Three beautiful souls!
Awe 😢yes❤
RIP Nelson, thank you for sharing your world with us

Yes 👏
He was a head of his time. Everyone is vlogging now. Nelson was doing it in the 80's
He was decades ahead of his time!

I miss the 80's,wish I could have met Nelson.
Me too Shellie!
I don't know if i miss the era or the age I was at the time.
I sometimes watch Nelson's videos with a sense of melancholy . He has left his mark on me .
Thank you to the hard working people who catalogued Nelson's work so that all of us may enjoy 💙

I wish that too Clermont Florida
I heard the host of the channel passed away and there won’t be anymore videos posted 😢
I could watch this 100 times over, so interesting ! Very well explained and documented. Good job 👏 👍
It would be nice if you got the opportunity to interview the current archivist.
thanks for these clips and keeping Nelson alive thru these!
Welcome 🙏 Sammy 😊
So sweet that having Nelson as his neighbour and playmate was the happiest day of Dick's life.

That’s very trueRyan Drouillard, I find it very sad too. It Does seem like a Greek tragedy, your right
I love the 80s it was so popin Nelson was a smooth mover and a true genitalman I like to have known the man behind the camera
Me too Patrick!
Omg you're back yay!
fascinating!!!
Thanks 🙏 😊
Interesting how post ww2 their folks generation were interested in cuture, reading and the arts.
enjoyed the video but whatsup with the music ?
The only thing I like about his videos is him. I just don't care about the others in them.
He was.an pioneer.way ahead of his time.
Yes he was!
That fall, and subsequent disability, may have just saved his life!
And Rue never even acknowledged Nelson for what he did for his career
It was sad when Nelson had a heart attack
What a good mate was Dick.
It's too bad RuPaul never gave them any recognition.
If Nelson had been black, RuPaul would be praising him to the heavens.
He has multiple times though.
@@musicaltheatergeek79 that's ridiculous. Rupaul has mentioned Nelson multiple times.
