The background story to these beautiful characters brought so much more life to the painting! This piece is like a scene from a pleasant dream. Absolutely amazing!
idk what it is about this lil painting but i actually love it so so much. we actually dissected frogs last year in science class, and we had to draw an external diagram of any kind of frog we wanted. i had so much fun drawing my lil frog, and there is something so cute about them! 💞
I would love to see a mini series on small paintings like these one to fill in the gaps on the big oil paintings. I've been following you for a year and a half now and every time you post I get soooo excited that I run around my house screaming that you posted.
I struggled with exactly the same problem. A few month ago I had a lot of stress going on in my live caused by finals, I basically didn't touch a brush for months althought I had a lot of ideas for paintings. Now that my finals are over and I have a lot free time before starting at the university I just can't get myself to start painting again. It's like you said, I'm afraid that I lost the skills I had before. I really really needed this video right now, thank you so much!
I love this tiny little piece, I realized I like working small because I can finish my works and that is such a satisfying feeling. I still like my big piece but man do they take dedication
This was an awesome video because I can definitely relate! I just recently got my art degree but now that I’m out of school, it’s difficult for me to come up with concepts for drawings and paintings. I was also the perfectionist of my class and loved rendering the details like you do! I love your suggestion of setting a time limit for yourself and also doing smaller studies knowing that every piece you create doesn’t have to be perfect! Thank you for the words of wisdom! 😊
Love everything about this! I love that you took a well deserved break from painting, fell back in love with it, and also learned the advantages of smaller pieces! I absolutely love making smaller works. They are faster, less intimidating, and more buyer friendly. And just so cute! 💜💙💖 I so wish I could snag this original asap 😭💜
Absolutely love love love this!! The video is edited very beautifully, this art piece looks like one of your older art pieces that are so magical and has dark theme and your soft voice which complimented the video so much and made it enjoyable and relaxing! Love you so so much happy d artist ❤️
So Adorable! You know, I’ve found myself doing a lot of watercolors recently simply because they are quicker. Watercolor is not my tire love though! I think it’s a struggle we all have. Great work as always.
Thank you for sharing! I’ve felt like that lately and it helps to know I’m not alone lol my main medium is makeup and I haven’t felt so up to the task lately! I love this little painting, so much personality is in the eyes of the frog! I’ve been nervous about trying oils again but I agree! Start small! I find that when I practice with other mediums it helps with the makeup process! Your work is seriously inspiring though! Thank you for sharing ❤️
I can’t wait to be able to afford your art😭😭 It's so beautiful and I'm happy that you finally overcome 3 MONTHS without oil painting wow. Glad you started again🌸 I hope we'll see more soon! Have a nice day!
The background story of this paintings literally almost made me cry😅There should be a cartoon telling this beautiful story of friendship! Love from Russia 💜
I love this! Please could you do a video on how you package original oil paintings like commissions? I’ve watched your print one which was really helpful but I’m struggling to find the best way to package originals... thank you!!💓
I do exactly the same thing.. sometimes I feel like I can’t see enough progress in my pieces and then I put soooo much expectations on my next piece and want it to be epic or step up a huge level but it never works like that 😅 currently on a little hiatus from moving house so I’m looking forward to getting back into it ❤️❤️🙌
Have you ever done a self portrait? I love watching this show on UA-cam “portrait artist of the year”. I think of you often while watching it and would love to see you on the show.
Its goog to know that you're back to oils... Sometimes we are afraid to come back to paint after a long time we dont paint... I believe is the fear of loosing the practice... But painting again, the painter powers come back jejeje🎨✨
Hi happy, I was wondering if you'd ever consider doing art & chat again? It was extremely fun and relaxing to draw along with your video and it would be great to see another one! 😄
The danger to be profetionist is over working and destroying flaws that is intressting or beautiful can bore any costumers. Humans pretend they seek prefection but studies has shown that when they face it, they recoil and hate it. This is why i hate 90% of all digital works as Most of them looks like a robot made it.. its empty and cold. I like the human Touch in any medium there i can see struggels, talent, emotion, teqnices and textures.. humans are flawed and beautiful so those that shows their voundribility is the Most beautiful and brave.
Hey Happy you could do a postcard series along this kind of theme. I would love to see what you come up with and as prints theyd also make a fantastic set at an affordable cost, theyd be as collectible as ATC's (artist trading cards). I'd buy a small themed set and frame them together in a multi picture frame
i think the "where to stop rendering" is such a dilemma!! under rendering feels too rough, over rendering erases edges. but looking at a lot of impressionist paintings helped a lot with that mentality for me i think! the paintings are visually interesting, feels finished, and tells a story, and the shapes are clearly there, but theres almost no smooth surfaces!! i think the "rough" look tells a story in it of itself. all the best in kicking toxic perfectionism, happy!
what kind of oild paint do you use? Mine needs more than 5 hours to dry... and you were able to finish in 90 minutes... and also what kind of liquid do you wash your brushes in? Because my paint needs a special liquid to get of my brushes... much love!!!
This is adorable, so, I just found your channel!- so seeing this is adorable; I love the frog and oddly mushroom. And I never understood how to keep my art; (as in I cannot seem to keep my art) I am quite sentimental... so I am quite reluctant to throw away my old art no matter how many stick people it was. Anyone have any suggestions, also I have not ever used oil paint. Yet I have a ton of oil.
Seoul Rider hi :) I don’t throw away my old art unless I don’t like it AT ALL. I put all my old art (of on paper) in an old box, and all my old paintings I put on a storage shelf, lined up like books. If it’s something I never finished and don’t plan on finishing I gesso over it so I can reuse the canvas
Iluvmakeup as much as I would love to reuse some of my canvases I happen to paint quite heavily; think overlaying layers with heavy almost dripping paint. And that is a great idea :) thank you!-
I'm sorry but its driving me crazy. The red eyed tree frog is not poisonous. However, the fly amanita mushroom is! Aaand none of this really matters, especially since your painting and illustration are so dang cute!
Honestly for those that are on a budget and just want to experience with oil paint, go to Ross cuz I legit just bought 12 oil paints for 4.99 and it looks really good when painting with it. (Hope this is helpful for people)
I adore this painting ❤️ frog cutie is so precious 😭
I love u and happy
OKAY BUT THE WAY THE MUSHROOM BENDS IS AMAZING????
Only 3 colors? It's beautiful. Also, my biggest problem w oils is overworking them so seeing this is cool
The background story to these beautiful characters brought so much more life to the painting! This piece is like a scene from a pleasant dream. Absolutely amazing!

The story behind this painting is so adorable
Whenever I’m feeling a bit wobbly or in art block I always come back to this video - it’s just so calming 😄

I love this so goddamn much. I love the way you paint mushrooms. I also love the story of the painting. Keep up the good work💖
I really love your honesty. Definitely don’t feel guilty for re-energizing. The time is right once the time is right
And 90 minutes! I’m inspired that you chose not to be perfectionist!
You can tell you had fun creating this piece. That little frog looks so cute!
Such a cute painting! I love the frog haha

I love your painting and the story behind it. I do that too sometimes, come up with little backstories for the figures I'm painting or drawing.

You are amazing...a New subs! Yah... ♥

Oil paint is the BEST medium
Also it's crazy that you're able to make this after so long without oil painting..
Cute little guy. I have a thing for frogs AND mushrooms 🐸🍄
I'm sorry but its driving me crazy. The red eyed tree frog is not poisonous. However, the fly amanita mushroom is! Aaand none of this really matters, especially since your painting and illustration are so dang cute!
