Do you know what all needs to be done to put the bell housing back on when it comes to the 5th and reverse gear?

I tried and was really close but end up damaging a caged bearing in the bellhousing. It’s a balancing act of getting the forks and lever to all line up. I need to get this bearing and try again. Maybe I can video that as well.

@@jonmuffley709 yes please do so your video is the only video I’ve found so far that isn’t just doing the shifts pins or removing the bell housing and I’m doing a manual swap on a 2003 325xi that I welded the transfer case on to make it RWD so that’s where all this started so thanks for being one of few to make a video on this transmission 👍

I actually haven’t yet. Haven’t had a need for it yet.

There is a full set of instructions on this from BMW. Lucky for me I work at a dealer and have access. This is also how I figured out how to rebuild my rear diff.
