    :) the purpose of oil on the gasket is to make sure you dont rip or bugger the gasket and that it doesnt stick.

      Thank you! I knew it was something like that!

      Also oil on the gasket usually prevents it from sticking to the block when it's removed on the next oil change

    I need to do this to mine this week. Appreciate the video with the pointers. I always like to watch a video or two of a job even if I've done it before to catch little tips from others. Perfect example, I will be buying a K&N filter this go round. I've always applied the new oil on the seal of the new oil filter too. Only difference was learning from my Dad and knowing how much of a mess I am, I throw down a flattened long piece of cardboard to keep a spill off the driveway.

      Typically I end up dropping the filter which splashes oil EVERYWHERE and have to go fishing for the drain plug and crush washer. I got extremely lucky this time 🤣

      @LuckyAcesRiding did it right with the extra pressure of the camera rolling. Hahaha nailed it 🤣

    excellent tutorial man! so many tutorials for basic things skip over a majority of the process. def wish I’d seen this before tackling an oil change for the first time

      Thanks! I try to tackle them as less of a "how to" and more of a "this is how I do/did it".

    I too have never replaced a crush washer and never had a problem on 40+ bikes and 30 cars and trucks . ( im old )
    Didn't know that about the k&n filter having the nut affixed . I bought the cup style oil filter remover that fits on a ratchet .
    Nice work 👍
    Edited to add , if you pour your oil with the spout on the high side it pours smooth without the glug glug action .

      I understand the thought behind replacing the crush washer most likely being a softer metal than the drain plug and oil pan but torqued correctly I don't see the issue. I didn't even think about which way the bottle was pointing, just went for it, ha!

    Hey man I love your videos I just got this bike and I was wondering if you could make a video on how to adjust the clutch lever?

    • @LuckyAcesRiding
      @LuckyAcesRiding  7 місяців тому +1

      Possibly. Mainly it would be adjusting the cable which in turn adjust the freeplay or slack in the clutch lever.

    What if the oil fill cap didnt open after you drained all the oil?

    • @LuckyAcesRiding
      @LuckyAcesRiding  4 місяці тому

      As in it will not turn by hand? I've used a small adjustable wrench to spin it off before.

    does the fill cap (dipstick) has an O-ring?

    • @LuckyAcesRiding
      @LuckyAcesRiding  7 місяців тому

      There is a small o-ring yes but I believe it sits on the engine case not on the dipstick cap.
