I am not a expert but from all the campers I see this is my dream. I am to old to think about having a camper . But for some reason , lately for the past year I been watching every thing about tiny houses every little. 😅 The best thanks
I have nearly the same setup but the Cummins. We average 16-17 mpg diesel. We bought our camper as well and completely renovated it and restored some water damage. That’s a great setup bud. Get yourself a good winch for that rig and keep at least a 12 ton jack handy to lift that extra weight in case of a flat.
You guys did a good job updating your truck camper. Love the dark blue you picked for the cabinets. Many more blissful miles adventuring with it! And, Conner be sure to tell your girl that she has the biggest, most beautiful eyes ever!! 👀 Wow!
I've owned and seen many Lance truck campers and this is one of the nicest renovations I've seen...good job! A couple suggestions. You may want to paint the inside of the bathroom door...it will help protect it if you do use the shower (even though you have a curtain) and will match the overall look nicely. The second would be to paint the fridge door and maybe the cabinets above the kitchen a lighter baby blue...it would really pop!
Thank you!! We are still trying to figure out how we want to renovate the bathroom (including back of the door) but ran out of time! A baby blue would be brighter for sure! Thanks for the support
You folks did a fantastic job on your renovations. We had a 2008 lance camper. We didn’t renovate it but we did redecorate it. What an improvement. We traded it for a 2022 lance 1172 that we ordered the way we wanted it. Lithium batteries solar power and a generator. We went with lance because they seem to keep their value and are well built. Safe travels. 👍🇨🇦
The renovations look great, guys! Brighter colors always make a small space seem larger. We are looking forward to the next video and until then, safe travels and may God bless!
Thank you! Here's a link to the blinds and we ordered the covers from coversandall.com, very easy process and both are holding up great! amzn.to/3JPInjt
This looks great. Love that the kitchen cabinets are a different color, and the blue was a good choice. The tile- look backsplash adds a nice dimension to the wall. Great Job!
What I like about this vs a van, is that if your car breaks down, you can just get a new and move the home right over.. But if a van breaks down, you might need to build a whole new home.. I have been looking for a truck, but it seems like all are the short type (because they are mostly just aesthetic wear, rather than use) and the camper I have access to, seems to be your size..
One of our reasons for going the truck camper route as well! Also the other way around, if the camper breaks or is damaged, you still have the truck to find a new home. And we can use it as just a truck if ever needed. Keep up the search, you’ll find one! Thanks for the comment
Great job ! Nice to do it yourself so you can have what you want & remove what you don't, I travel light but do pull a little trailer for the many extras like tools, fuel, camp stoves, chairs it's awesome :)
Great job on the Reno, looks terrific. FYI, the 10 gallon black tank also catches the shower water, which fills it fast, and can get messy. A few UA-cam fixes to bypass the shower drain to the outside, should you ever decide to use the shower inside.
Thank you! And yes, such a small tank especially with the shower drain. We plan on utilizing the outdoor shower more often to avoid the black tank fill. Have a great day!
Awesome job guys you make a good team! I have seriously been considering going the truck camper route instead of the van life and found your video helpful. Safe journeys
By the time our fresh water is out, our tanks are full as well so we dump and fill up at a campground or travel center. We haven’t had any issues with freezing yet, hopefully that stays true
Being and Rv owner for 40 years also and carpenter / builder nice to see you guys did a great job low budget, fresh clean bright new Rv, one day yes move up in size possibly. Simply nice settle improvements. And the paint coats I great idea for lots of wear and coverage of old wood fibres.. excellent work , 👏👏👏👏👏
The renovation looks great. Does your black water tank not freeze then making it difficult to empty? You guys should look into some cheap microphones, sounds quality was poor. It makes the video quality that much better. Cheers.
Our heater pumps into the bathroom and so far have not had an issue with freezing. We’re out of the mountains now and will unwinterize the whole camper soon

BEAUTIFUL camper! You guys did a beautiful Job!! For me personally, I would have gotten a comfortable but not so tall mattress that didn't cover up the bottom of the windows plus it would have made the whole space look a little bigger. And I was already thinking that to myself before I seen you sit on the bed & hit your head. But to each their own. and everybody has their own preferences. And you guys did a GREAT job.
Thank you! Our mattress now is only 6-7” tall so its on the smaller end. Definitely not much headroom in the older smaller campers but we make it work! Thanks again for watching!
@@LivingLargeCamping You guys are a BEAUTIFUL couple with a BEAUTIFUL camper and you did a lot of hard work to make the camper look that nice. And I hate myself for what I had said to you. I came back to delete my comment, but it was too late. IM SORRY!
I actually noticed the same thing with the mattress. It looks out of place and takes up to much room . When space is at a premium you don't want to waste it when you don't need to. It looks similar to my gigantic mattress in my house that i hate because I can't lift it to make the bed properly. I miss the days when mattresses were movable lol
Love your channel, you did a great job on the refurbished camper! My only suggestion is to spray paint the lights that are yellowing, it makes the camper look so much newer, you can also paint brush the wall paint on them as well. You’ll be amazed at the finish. Same deal for the bathroom walls. Keep up your hard work, looking forward to more videos. This is Alan, GREETINGS from Riverside in Southern California.
Thanks Alan! We appreciate the kind words and glad you like the renovation! I’ve looked into replacing the fixtures to get rid of the yellowing look as well. Painting would be just as easy I’m sure! Have a great day!
do you have a link to the window in the door? The back of my camper is really dark and I'd love to add a window or 2 like you have. I would consider 2 upgrades If I were you: I would remove the propane furnace and put a quality diesel heater in it's place. They use almost no electricity and sip diesel. Especially in your climate. Secondly I would install a composting toilet and join the black and grey tanks. You could go so much longer without dumping..If that is your only tank yikes I would definitely do this.Just my 2 cents
Here you go! Very easy install and really changed the space! Love having the full glass window and the added privacy screen is a great touch amzn.to/3JhNcAW

This is such a nice camper renovation! One of the coolest ideas was the use of trim on the outside of the bathroom door. 1. Did the $1000 budget include the power station? 2. I noticed no more vent hood… do you regret removing that?

I prefer the before look, I like the natural wood over it being painted.
Had a 2007 model 815 for 10 years. Holding tanks were just to small. It was time to upgrade. Still enjoyed the camper.
The tanks are one of the biggest downsides to the 815. Other than that, we love the size!
How big is the grey water tank? I heard 18g fresh and 10g black. Ok I just heard 11g grey. Same size as my Bigfoot 1500 series.
