Yeah it's because some people don't have a brain and would throw dumb stuff on the ice like candy. Right before I had to go on the ice someone thought it was a good idea to throw a bag of candy and it bork and splashed candy all over the ice. I also think it probably saved time in competition. I guess because it's an international competition it's a bit different and it looks cool with all the plushies on the ice.

This was the main reason why Yuzuru skated last in the short program most of the times, this slowed the competition down a lot. At the current Wold Championship in Japan fans can still bring presents for the skaters and hand them over at special fan desks at the ice rink following safety and covid regulations. My great uncle was the ice keeper at our ice rink where it was alway forbidden to take food or drinks on the ice but after a competition his zamboni ice chaving was colorfull.

K but legit I was teaching in a hockey town in canada and the coach was giving 14 year olds smelling salts to pep them up at games! Hockey is super toxic here but they'll lose it on you if you even say that. They won't even so much as admit there is a single problem so the sport keeps having issues that get swept under the rug all over the place.

Our local hockey team has an annual ‘teddy bear toss’ once a year. Once the first goal of that match is scored, everyone rains teddy bears and other stuffed animals 🧸 onto the ice. Volunteers hand out clear bags before the game for protecting the donations from the ice/damp. Push brooms (wide) are used to gather them into large piles and then they are loaded into trucks/carts to clear the ice. All toys are donated locally.

They could've awarded her the points she deserved, then still made the move illegal afterwards (if it was really put in place to protect other skaters from trying the move and hurting themselves), but instead she got docked points for innovating and being better than everyone else (while black)

I'm sorry but this is completely false. Ive seen these lies circulating a lot on Twitter and tiktok, but actually, it was banned in 1976, shortly after Terry Kubicka performed it at the Olympics. Surya was only a toddler when it was banned.

What they do is their business, and if they break their neck it's their own responsibility. It happened, fyi... But in competition, it was deemed dangerous and no other girl, before Surya, ever did it while it was still legal... and if it was legal, and it was not dangerous, why didn't they do it? And other question: if it was illegal during time when Surya did it, why wasn't she disqualified? Because she wasn't... logic
