- This video shows a comparison between an Akrapovic carbon fiber slip on with the baffle / db killer in and out, as well as how to remove the baffle. The bike used to demonstrate is a 2015 Honda CB500F ABS. The sound would be exactly the same on a CBR500R and CB500X.

I wonder how it would sound if you cut the baffle so that just the visible part is left that bolts in. It should be a bit louder than with the whole baffle but would still look legal.
Do you need to do any remapping to fit the new exhaust?
Dr. John Campbell not for a slip on like this. If it was a full exhaust then you'd want to get into that.
Hello, i have the same on my honda cb600f hornet, year 2009. It has 39xxx km , didnt make this sound when i bought it from my friend. I changed the oil, and drained a bit (put sccidentally 3 litres instead of 2,8l). I drove ca 100km with 3l, and after drain 0,2l i have this sound. Motorbike starts normally. I will try to have it checked in dealershop if its normal. I had previously honda cb500x and honda cbf600s and no such a noise was there. Everything was smooth

no it is not a full system, just a slip on. the bike runs great and I consistently get over 70mpg with it.
Don't you think it sounds better WITH the baffle on ?

For my Termignoni the difference bw both settings is HUGE. The sound is like 1000ccm wo db killer, but in a city it is too load. I wonder about differences in power??
Stephan Weber I feel like I have less low-end but more high end power with the db killer out. It is negligible either way. I live in an area with a lot of deer and having the db killer out has reduced my deer crossings to zero.
