the buttered rum is amazing, especially over a campfire. a friend of mine makes hers in a giant stockpot with apples floating in it for our Beltane festival every year
Many people put a citrus element in the hot buttered rum--a splash of lemon juice or a twist of orange peel. And a good eggnog has more than rum, usually a combination of rum, brandy and bourbon or whiskey. A Pink Lady tastes better than a Tom & Jerry IMO--same idea with whipped egg whites but with gin and applejack and grenadine, more festive.
You guys should keep doing these but do an Irish version as well. Like what's Christmas like at an Irish's home or like what do they drink on Christmas. Having both would be grand.
We get Hot Buttered Rum in Scotland, there's also a version made with whisky sometimes called Hot Butterscotch or a Highland Cow but most of the time just called a Butter Toddy. The version I've had is made with whisky, butter, milk, honey, an egg yolk and then topped with nutmeg.
It's not a traditional drink but my families "christmas cocktail" is a Tbs of raspberry coulis, a shot of frambois, mix with champagne, cool with frozen raspberries. Very nice on a christmas afternoon
I just wanted to tell you guys that you're hilarious!!! I sit here late at night and watch these videos and just crack up! Love to you all from a redheaded Irish/American girl. (Yes, I'm a ginger)
Hot buttered rum is still alive and well in the southern united states. At least in the part where I live. Lol. So is eggnog and rum. Champagne cocktails are timeless. Only one I never see is the Tom and Jerry.
Yeah the other fellow is right. These are all still drunk in many places in the U.S. Some more than others, and the exact ingredients may vary a little but these are basically variations of some common drinks. A lot of people just buy a carton of eggnog, add booze and bam Xmas, but for the rest of us that actually fully celebrate the holiday, we have drinks like these at Christmas parties. Champagne cocktails are a common drink in wait for it...cocktail lounges. I'm not accusing you of anything nor am I trying to be insulting, but basically there's a dichotomy in America between people who still celebrate Christmas quite like we've always done, and people who don't really have a lot of American traditions maybe because of their backgrounds, and they're the ones I often see going "Oh that's not true, it's from movies". It ended up in movies, guess where it came from before that? America.
This was a fun article to watch. Nice to see people try our stuff and express an opinion. Really wish they had used real Eggnog which is a nice blend of Rum, Whiskey and Brandy plus the Egg Nog mix, a number of companies in the stats put out a proper mix around Thanksgiving to Christmas. The Hot buttered Rum recipe my family has is a mix of melted Vanilla Ice Cream, Butter mixed with brown sugar then after blended combined with both dark rum and hot water. The others well haven't really tried them myself.
I KNOW its late to the game on this but I'd LOVE to see more quick 'breakout recipes' from you guys on what you are throwing down! I don't miss a video, and not having them won't stop me, but it sure is fun! =)
Most common Christmas drinks in my family: Mulled wine, eggnog, spiked coffee, cider, or hot toddy. Although, when I'm sick I make a hot toddy regardless of the season. :D I'm gonna have to start making hot buttered rum now. Damn
Have you ever, ever thought of trying Triple Sec, Canadian Club, Crown Royal, Saskatchewan #1 hard? Another drink they might like is 1 oz Gin,1 oz Vodka, 1 oz Lemonade, and 1 oz Ginger Ale and just for color Maraschino Cherry juice and 1 Cherry! It is called a "Mother's Milk here in Canada. Also try some Blue Parfait alcohol, 2 oz, 1 oz Vodka and a sprinkle of sugar , 1 oz Sprite! Wow! Lastly try Molsen Canadian beer!
I live in Pennsylvania and I've never heard of these! Along with most of the candy, chips, foods and such that are on here.. maybe it's because my fam is all Irish.
I get so sick off rum nog every year around Christmas, and every year I tell myself "never again!" then the year rolls around and i'm like "eh couldn't have been that bad" and I ruin myself all over again. Worth it.
I'm American and the only one I've ever heard of is the eggnog, so this was educational for me. :) And the eggnog to alcohol ratio in my experience has always been more eggnog to a shot of alcohol (usually rum, but my family has always used whiskey, so that's what I'm used to).
i've lived in the united states my whole life and i've never heard of any of these....? i think they should do "americans try american christmas drinks."
+Kaylee Cromling other then eggnog I have never heard of the others...I don't care for eggnog other then a very small glass for Christmas and then I have to guzzle it down..:)
amom2my3kids72 i'm allergic to eggs so i've never had eggnog before. but some of the other drinks on here would be interesting if i could find them haha

I just wanted to tell you guys that you're hilarious!!! I sit here late at night and watch these videos and just crack up! Love to you all from a redheaded Irish/American girl. (Yes, I'm a ginger)
I'm American and the first time I heard of hot buttered rum was in Ireland. The batter was also sold at Tesco...
These are like American drinks from a 1939 edition Betty Crocker cookbook! I think some of these drinks were last drunk by silent film actors!
Hot buttered rum is still alive and well in the southern united states. At least in the part where I live. Lol. So is eggnog and rum. Champagne cocktails are timeless. Only one I never see is the Tom and Jerry.

"you blended a rat and a cat" I Love him!!!!
You should try moose milk, it is a great mixed drink I used to get around the Christmas holidays in the Navy
American, born and raised... never heard of any of these drinks other than the egg nog and rum

I've NEVER heard of a "Tom & Jerry".
I have a vintage Tom and Jerry service. A "punch bowl" with 8 mugs, about the size of espresso cups. Everything has the Tom & Jerry logo on it.
I KNOW its late to the game on this but I'd LOVE to see more quick 'breakout recipes' from you guys on what you are throwing down! I don't miss a video, and not having them won't stop me, but it sure is fun! =)
Merry Christmas Ireland!
My favorite Christmas drink is.....Baily's Irish cream and white rum :) Thanks, Ireland :D
I really want facts to bring a few of the All Def Digital crew to Ireland and make some videos. It would be amazing.
3:10 everything about that scene was hilarious. What he was saying and the reaction he got, lmfao!
I love how he's mixing these on a coffee table, it's so low. Is this his bachelor pad, or the talent portion of the show? :P
I'm from the south. Our holiday drink is sweet tea and/or natural light.
The gentleman with the long dark hair is absolutely dashing :)
i love leather guy and curly!
the "Happy Chriistmas!" part made me smile :)

Irish people take bong hits.
They have some hilarious responses.. lol

“It’s like liquid cake that gets you drunk.”
Most common Christmas drinks in my family: Mulled wine, eggnog, spiked coffee, cider, or hot toddy. Although, when I'm sick I make a hot toddy regardless of the season. :D I'm gonna have to start making hot buttered rum now. Damn
HAHAHAHA LOVE CURLY AND LEATHER GUY:D MERRY CHRISTMAS:D
I take it icing sugar is the same as powdered sugar/confectioner's sugar?
Have you ever, ever thought of trying Triple Sec, Canadian Club, Crown Royal, Saskatchewan #1 hard? It looks like something you drop in the tank to clean the fish.
THE FISH?? Comedy gold. 😀
I have only seen egg nog without the alcohol at all of the Christmas parties I went to here in the USA. We normally do wine, beer and cocktails.
I love Irish people
Christmas Gout!!Yeah!
we call the eggnog and spice rum "ponche De crème" and Big up to Angostura Bitters made in TT
I came here to get drunk, and I'm just confused. Lol. Love it.
I live in Pennsylvania and I've never heard of these! Along with most of the candy, chips, foods and such that are on here.. maybe it's because my fam is all Irish.
I'm American and I've never even heard of a Tom and Jerry. Spiked eggnog and hot buttered rum are pretty standard during the holidays though.
I get so sick off rum nog every year around Christmas, and every year I tell myself "never again!" then the year rolls around and i'm like "eh couldn't have been that bad" and I ruin myself all over again. Worth it.
I only heard of eggnog. (in which I love with spice rum)
"What is this? Irish people reacts to burning?" I laughed harder than I have in a LONG time.
You should try Southwest American Christmas foods. Tamales, Pesole, biscochitos.....
Oh man, would have loved seeing their reaction to Coquito
"what is this, Irish people react to burning??!!" The best.
Deluxe Supply and friend are too cute.
Leather jacket guys explanations!!!!!!🤣🤣😂😂😂
I swear I saw spiked eggnog and my first thought was "zip zop a doowop try my puddin pop"
I'm American and the only one I've ever heard of is the eggnog, so this was educational for me. :) And the eggnog to alcohol ratio in my experience has always been more eggnog to a shot of alcohol (usually rum, but my family has always used whiskey, so that's what I'm used to).
Facts Folks gotta get them some Moose Milk! A real holiday fun drink!
I wish you could try fresh eggnog with real cream and milk! It's so so good! ANYONE living in northern california you must try Strauss eggnog. So good
2:30 dude...i laughed so heard that I might have busted a vein in my head, LOLOL
Whenever I watch videos about tasting American drinks, I'm reminded how little I drink to not know most of these, despite being a lifelong American.
love you guys
i've lived in the united states my whole life and i've never heard of any of these....? i think they should do "americans try american christmas drinks."
+Kaylee Cromling They're in Ireland.
+Kaylee Cromling you've never heard of these classic drinks in all of your 13 years of living here? Shocking!

amom2my3kids72 i'm allergic to eggs so i've never had eggnog before. but some of the other drinks on here would be interesting if i could find them haha
+Kaylee Cromling I've heard of all of them, each is a regional drink, but many bars serve all of them this time of year
