Yokohama Earth1 tyre review. 205/55 R16 upsize tyre on Hyundai Verna / Solaris / Accent.
YOKOHAMA Earth-1's unique construction offers top levels af both durability and comfort. The rubber compound developed especially for YOKOHAMA Earth-1 controls chipping, wear, and deterioration. YOKOHAMA Earth-1 features the newly developed "Blend Polymer," which balances durabilty, wear resistance, and grip. The compounds rigidly was also improved by increasing the blending ratio of polymer and carbon.

I have had Yokohama Earth One tyres on my old car. Did 30k with them with rotating then every 5k. I would say with the tread life left on them I would have done 20k more on them comfortably.
Feels like official review. Thnx ya!
Good tyres….. good grip….
From where did you found that car spoiler?looks superb.
Its a Mugen RR spoiler.. if you need, contact me on instagram. @afteroffice_yt
I was told Yokohama last for 80k lol
You got the worn out at 18k
Looks like you drive really rough
Doing 150+ kmph on concrete road may be caused to wear out fast..
But this worn out tyres, on hot sunny day sticks to the road.. i hv kept them
Bro I have seen your Review on Amazon shopping app.. are the tyres are Working well?? Are they Good in hilly areas as I'm from Himachal? Pradesh
All good👍... you can check the newly launched Bluearth GT also
Earth 1s are not made for sedans if u are upsizing more than 2 inches i reckon. As my swift dzire was making terrible road noise after I installed earth 1 on it and I installed same tyres on my 2023 brezza and I noticed there is no road noise
will try Bridgestone Sturdo next may be.. double ply sidewalls like yokohama earth1
Confuse between earth 1 and conti max contact mc5. Who will be the winner ? I drive fludic verna and i am looking for tyre (195/55/R16) who can especially bear the indian potholes. As you might know front tyres of verna can not bear that and get easily cuts and tears from the sidewall. I used bridgestone and good year in past but they are not enough strong to fight on indian roads. If any other brand in your mind that meets up the criteria, Please update.
Thank you for help.
Bridgestone B290 performance low, lasting high, headache free...
Contimax solid build quality, shall not burst or bubble
Yoko performance high, good build quality..
Buy which ever is cheapest of the above three brand. Upsize from 195 to 205/55r16, will solve cut issue. Bridgestone may give you cut warranty but yoko, does'nt entertain warranty..
By performance I mean high speed cornering.. above 100kmph in highway..
@@afteroffice_yt thank you for detail information. I then go for contimax as I am looking for solid build quality. Btw Does conti provides warranty for bubble or cut in tyres?
I heard from many people that upsizing the tyre will reduce car mileage but yes, I will definitely try that.
@@hrishiw5428 205 upsize is jus 2% and wont effect..
Warranty depends dealer to dealer, state to state Manager... Higher sales means higher profit and higher ability to provide amd entertain warranty..
Many online purchases are not covered under warranty..
@@afteroffice_yt Thank you 👍
Even if you drive 100 kmph regularly, 18k is very low in terms of tread life
Yeah.. low... may be with petrol engine cars and lighter cars thread life is more
I think company fitted tyres are of low quality which worn out very early as my Ciaz Diesel was fitted with Goodyear assurance and in 25k they have worn out alot even after doing wheel rotation and alignment
I HAVE FLUDIC VERNA 2013 MODEL
IN MY CAR YOKOHAMA 205/50 R16 tryes are installed
Facing issue with ground clearance
So if I upgrade to 205/55 R16 tryes
GROUND CLEARANCE PROBLEM GET SOLVED?!
205/50 is not good, its smaller than oridinal... use 205/55 R16.. I also used it in my old Fludic verna.. U can check my videos.. there would be no ground clearance issue..
Yoko earth1 tyres are said to make it feel as if the car is floating. Since the steering feedback on the verna inherently feels disconnected from the wheels, did the yoko tyres make the steering feel too numb? I drive the same car as you, same make and model, so just curious.
Due to upsize steering feels steady.. ya floating feel may be true for petrol cars as they are light and the earth1 tyre is hard..
I am having Tata Nexon which has Goodyear tyres. I have done wheel balancing only during the Service time only. However I am able successfully drive 70600 km so far without changing.. Now planning to change the tyres ..
Does Yokohama will give at least 50k long life ???
Depends on your driving.. if goodyear has given you 70600, yoko will give you more
I am very upset after seeing this video because I purchased set of 4 tyres of yokohama earth 1 205 55r16 for my toyota yaris and after installation tyres of front side is knocking on inner wall of car while rotating the full steering
Use a spacer between Rim and wheel hub..
@@afteroffice_yt thanks for reply.....I want to know that you also uses spacer in your verna if yes then what is the size of spacer
Is spacer is recommended or not
No i dont use spacers in verna..
@@afteroffice_yt O....you checked that before or not on full steering cut
Yes only after checking fitted upsize.. 205/55R16 fits fluidic verna, nexgen verna, i20, Baleno, Ciaz
More than the tyre how da fuk did u even manage to do 150 on that tiny width road 😂
Diesel turbo is great in acceleration👍
Check suspension of car
All ok.. check my video on servicing at 36000kms where detail suspension check done
Very good review. But, I would suggest tyre rotation every 5k km or so to maintain uniform thread wear.
Life would be same 20k kms. Just the fact that at 40k kms you will need to change all 4 tyres. Further after 30k kms you wil have 4tyre with minimum thread life compromising your car performance for rest of the drive upto 40k kms until you change your tyres.
However rotating tyres is a better option in for day to day driving unless you drive at insane speeds where you need good tyres. Tyres wear out faster over concrete road.
Hi Mr. Barua, why did your front tyres wear out so early? Has it got anything to do with all that extra power being sent to the road due to DieselTronic ECU? I have done almost 35K km on stock tyres, 90% of which was on concrete highways, tyres are only half-way through. I drive the same car
I have driven mostly in highway and my speeds were above 130kmph.. I have very little city driving.. if I would hav rotated, I may hav got 40k out of 4tyres.. I think 20k was normal for the speeds tats i have driven for any brands, say bridgestone b290 or Hankook etc.
I swear I didn't do any tyre spinning with the added power from Dieseltronic, except two three instances which are recorded in other videos in the channel.
I yes, i have abused the bad road with these tyres confidently, and dont think the suspension is hurt either. Speaking from experience as I owned a Fluidic verna also and didnt have to change suspension upto 1lac kms after which i sold the car. You can join on insta : baruaharn
Sir for verna fluidic .. my stock is 195/55R16
Can I change to 195/60R16
I understand that bigger side wall means better comfort and better ground clearance..
Wats your take on this ?
205/55 R16 will also increase sidewall. Use this size.. very good
Iam lso having the same doubt.....what's ur experience bro...I have planned to buy 195/60/R16
Am using 195/60/16 good comfort with milege... In my 2016 fluidic ceat secure drive now am doing mountain ride more planing for earth 1
Hey nice review. Thanks.
I am planning to upsize the tyres on my next gen Verna too and came across your video.
Could you tell me if the tyres are hitting the inner wall with 5 people loaded ?
And also have you used buffers or spacers to adjust for upsized tyres ?
1. Diesel Verna buy Hard tyre 205/55
2. Petrol Verna buy soft ligjt tyre 205/55
3. Use 4 buffer, front and rear.
4. With 205/55r16 tyre will not hit inner wall
Which buffer brand is best bro
RogerRab 8000 for 4... but i suggest buy the cheapest, its same at 3000 for4
@@afteroffice_yt 3000 brand name bro
No brand name.. if you need i can courier you.. contct on insta @afteroffice_yt
Bro can i upsize both front tyres to 205 while rear tyres are stock ones 195/55
Yes you can.. but better do 4 tyres
I taught good for 50k and here 20k it’s done.. if the fate of earth 1 is such blue earth is softer.. hardly 20k then
Apollo gone at 16k on swift, check my apollo vs MRF video.
Depends on at what speed you drive, tarmac or concrete road..
Also 20k front than rotate and 20k... i would say 35k max for me under my driving speed and road condition..
I have verna fluidic petrol 2016 model. Planning to upsize from 195/55/r16 to 205/55/r16. Will it give any issue in suspension?? Also will there be any drop in mileage??
No suspension issue.. no mileage drop
Bro, you said that Earth 1 is having hard rubber compound for Indian Road conditions. Can you say comfort level of these tyre's, I hope if it is of hard compound and thick side wall, the ride will be bumbby, as all the vibration will get inside the car and steering wheel
U will slightly feel the hardness..
Can I use this filter in my 2020 Verna. Will it increase my milage in city driving ?
Yes
Front tyres are worn out at just 20,000 km. That's definitely not durable.
With rotation 40k max... tyre wear depends on road condition, acceleration and speed
Curious that the new tyres just lasts for 20 k alone? as heard it should be for 40K..few beyond 70K..
With rotation may be would hav lasted 40k.. 20 front than rear on front side for another 20...
Tyre life depends on your speed and acceleration.. with slow speed youncan run 70k may be
Bro earth-1 is more towards comfort, try s-drive.. You will love your verna even more.. 😉
205/55 r16 size is not there in S-drive. Further, S-drive improves handling but wears out fast.. not made for bad roads... its for high speed perfomance on tarmac..
Yoko Advan is best, but costly
The Ford Icon in my video list has Sdrive upsize tyres with upsize alloys.. handling is phenomenal, but not practical for Indian road condition..
Dude 20 k that's way too less in terms of km driven .I went to Yokohama dealership in my place I found people who said they are replacing theirs on 70k
Try running your car at 130kmph plus speeds..😜
Earth1 life is 35k kms
@@amit8111 life depends of weight of car.. diesel cars weight is higher. Also, the focus on durability and performance of the tyre on bad roads at high speed.. not many tyres can witstand that. They will burst
Can you guyz suggest some good tyres for bad roads also with low rolling resistance and good braking for premium hatchbacks?
@@nicksajs Michilein XM2... but michileins seems puncture prone
My ecosport had 205/50R17 tyre, 4 tyre got bulge and burst within 35k kms. So for front 2 tyres wat upsizing do you recommend for 17 inches rim??
Side wall needs to be 55 atleast for Indian roads.. Ecosport 17inch rim, I think you can fit 205/55R17 or 225/50R17..... 225/50R17 would be very expensive though..🤔
@@afteroffice_yt Bro I am also thinking of changing my ecosport 50/205/17" tyre to Earth 1 55/215/17", will there be any effect on milage? Please suggest me which tyre is better for ecosport 17" to increase comfort and milage?
Bro start doing tyre rotation and alignment every 5k km for Tyres long life.
I have stock tyres by Hankook, and done 35k kms. I say rotation and side change every 10k is fine if you keep driving normally. I guess my tyres can go another 15-20k. No kidding.
@@sheetijsood491 yes.. with rotation tyres last 40k at least.. if i would hav rotated, they would hav lasted atleast 40k.. but thn I hv new front tyres, and rear are as good as new..
@@afteroffice_yt I think you are wrong about your opinion on tyre rotation. I own a Jeep Compass, which comes with 225/60 R17 Firestone tyres. This might seem unbelievable to many, but I managed to clock 73.5k kilometres with the stock tyres. Yes, now I have worn out the tyres so much, that I can now see that thread which is supposed to be well inside the rubber. But the point is, I was able to clock so much only because I did proper alignment, balancing and tyre rotation every 5000 kilometres. Such a maintenance could cost some money, but it would be way lesser than having used up two full sets of tyres for 73.5k. Now I have switched to Yokohama Earth 1 tyres and I am yet to test it's performance and life.
PS- Change your tyres at time, when it wears out and don't do what I did.
@@sheetijsood491 ive run 58000 km on stock hankook tyres. They’re working good but the road noise has gone up now. Probably time for a new upgrade in 2000 kms
I am looking forward for Yokohama Earth 1 for my Hyundai i10. Will it be the best option or I shall check Bridgestone B290
Get the cheaper one
@@afteroffice_yt Well there are hardly any difference of price in between the Bridgestone tyre models. I also enquired about Yokohama. 4000 being the cheapest with one dealer in Guwahati. While others would charge 4200 to 4500.
As your car woul be doing 130kmph max... buy any tyre under budget

I'm replacing my 4 tyre for my Fiat Linea 1.3 mjd, it's quite heavy car with good torque and amazing suspension...thought of going for vredestine or Earth 1...now confused after seeing your video, cn you suggest me to choose...
Only 20k?? I drove mine 40k plus and still 70% tread left with HANKOOK. means you are doing harsh driving 😂😂ohh I almost forgot I drive in Australia… Sorry
20k front.. so total 40k max life after rotation.. wear depends on accelaration, braking and concrete road eats away life

I will update a video after extensive use..
@@afteroffice_yt I just wanted to know if it is soft like Michelin .....since it launched last month only and there are no reviews out there ...
@@don215able I wont confirm anything Bro without testing. But generally speaking yokohama earth1 is hard, bluearth is a bit soft. Bluearth GT should be similar to BluearthAe05 in terms of softness. Michilein are punture prone
