27:50 There is actually a brief mention of Titus in one of the taunts you can make Malum Caedo say. "I will finish the work Captain Titus started". More of a cool reference than anything.
With the crafting update since the new patch. Darktide is finally at the state that it no longer feels like an incomplete early access game and feels like a actual game that launched, even though it was a few years late. Now they can focus more on adding more content in the game after this. Though, the release in 2022 shows how really rushed this game was made, definitely needed more time in the oven until it became how it should've been at launch.

Imo, this update was needed to make the game more enjoyable and increase the replayability. Mostly importantly, the game no longer feels like an early access game since this patch. Also pretty sure Auric damnations and Maelstrom will still be hard for a team that's not prepared especially. I’d say the gameplay is stronger, but I do miss the narrative and setpiece driven missions of Vermintide. Sure, the more generic missions of Darktide are better for overall replayability and the presentation on them is still immaculate, but without a proper story to latch onto it can grow a bit stale with time. It does seem like Fatshark are moving in this direction with special assignments, but still kinda hard to say much with only one out. Overall I think Darktide has the fundamentals necessary to be better than V2, but needs more content to really get there
Currently Darktide is probably the best on this list, but they've also had 2 years worth of updates and optimizations. Space Marine 2 is fun, but a little janky and limited at the moment. It'll get way better the more they update it though I'm sure.
Good overall, Darktide deserves way more love though. An extremely fun game, and the gameplay is one of the most polished experiences avilabke in modern gaming. Solo que or with friends, the community is super helpful and fun to play with.
Spacehulk: Deathwing Enhanced edition was all about the multiplayer which is where the game really shines, the update finally added persistence class progression which not only allowed you to unlock new perks but new gear and attachments for them as well as more cosmetic stuff using a currency you unlocked from completing mission etc - this was vastly better then what it had on release which had your class resetting back to 1 after each mission and your gear was default options for your class etc but sadly the enhanced edition came out far to late, almost a year after the game launched i think, to really save the game as about 90% of the player base had already gone by then but those that remained did enjoy it.
I'm old enough to remember when 40k first appeared back in the late 80s. Loved the aesthetic, but I was too busy to paint models and landscapes, learn a strategy game and sink tons of cash into the hobby. Then I bought BOLTGUN, looking for a decent Boomer shooter and got HOOKED. FOR SLAANESH - NOISE MARINES SOUND OFF!!
Fire Warrior is hilarious because the Tau pulse rifle, which canonically fires supersonic bolts of ionized tungsten slugs, and is pinpoint accurate, instead fires slow-moving orbs that spread all across the screen. Not to mention the fact that the LASGUN which fires LASERS is somehow ALSO firing slow-moving projectiles. And the way the gun flies across the screen and tracks the enemies is super disorienting.
I didn’t know much about Warhammer 40k until Space Marine 2. Prior to its release a decided to learn about the universe and its a little overwhelming. I’ve only touch the top of the iceberg and that’s already a lot. But I am in love with the world and would love to see more games in different genres and shows, movies etc. I need to see an ork stompa in live action!
As someone who did get Deathwing to work in multiplayer with my friends, it was a slog to playthrough and we only did three sessions before giving up. One of us had to be the medic to get anything done and the only thing that person (me) could do the entire game was heal the others because my weapon was complete garbage despite being a boltor that somehow jams during reload because the game uses the active reload system that was very popular due to Gears of War. I get that it's trying to mimic the Space Hulk tabletop game, but jamming weapons is never fun in video games. The weapons felt super weak compared to how strong the enemies were even on normal difficulty, at least that is how my friends and I felt. Just fun for a couple of sessions for us before everyone dropped it. Darktide is definitely better nowadays than it was at launch. I would still say mission variety is still an issue, but it's an issue that will be solved with more time. If only it started at launch the way that it is today it would be in a much better state.
Just a lil thing I watned to add, "hive city" isn't the name of any City, it's just what they call the mega cities where as many people are crammed in as possible, as far as I know they don't really have names, except for maybe the imperial palace on holy terra
On Deathwing: Fair assessment for the most part. It's just a fact that the AI isn't very good. But you can manage them somewhat and giving just one of them full melee makes even the highest difficulty playable. And aside from that: There really is nothing else that is quite like it. On Hired Gun: It can be very fast. Just consider the grapple and the Crush teleport and on top of that the melee skill also speeds you up. Add in dash, double jump, slide, wall-running and the aim assist while using movement skills and you end up having a lot of options for mobility. There is almost no platforming, just a bit of simple grapple use and clambering about and occasionally some required wall-running that isn't any challenge. Not at all similar to Doom Eternal, so that was a bit confusing.
Goodness Bro, i was pretty hyped when i saw the title of this video. Even though personally i have played more the rpg games like chaosbane or Inquisitor martyr, but i really love the warhammer universe even though i havent played the tabletop. Necromunda is fine, i really liked the hook and some of the abilities, it is really nice fun but also generic and the main character is kinda bland. Thanks!
Two other games I would mention. There is a little known prequel to Space Marine 1 called Space Marine Kill Team. It was an XBOX Arcade game (I think it was on PSN also). Isometric 3rd person shooter. Not sure how you can play it if you don’t have it already. Inquisitor Martyr is an isometric action adventure game but it’s pretty much a shooter. It’s notable for having more enemy factions than most games. When it first came out. I was sorta disappointed, but I just tried it again on the XBOX Series X and had blast. For the Emperor because of course its for the Emperor.
I have to admit, Space Marine 2 is my favorite game to come out in YEARS!! It's up there with Elden Ring, GTA5 and RE4 remake of all time greats already IMO.. I can't put the game down..
