I had almost forgotten about this. This brings back very fond memories. He was a wonderful narrator. There was just something so soothing and comforting about his voice. He was a big part of my childhood and will be greatly missed.
One of my favorite STREET segments!!!! Luis (the late Emilio Delgado) did such an awesome job with this one!! One of his best performances!! :) :) :) :)
Classic Sesame was hit and miss, some of their animations were warm and memorable like this, others were genuinely unsettling, disturbing, depressing, psychedelic or hellish. The genie trapped in the tree, the kid that gets lost in the weird neighborhood, the infamous "Cracks", there's a whole list of trauma and nightmare fuel.
This was creepy, especially Maria's computerized filtered appearance and the stick figure face changing her hairdos, As much as I love Luis, his voice on here with the kid was UNITENTIONALLY Creeperesque (Luis was NOT a creeper) but at the same time, I found the music upbeat and soothing. I did enjoy the video no matter how weird it was.

DAMN!!! I remember watching this one as a kid. And R.I.P. Emilio Delgado. (Luis)

Actually this segment gave me nightmares as a kid at 7 especially with Maria's transformation.
Harsh Truth, I'm with you. I couldn't even watch this bit as a kid. Freaked me the hell out.
This was weird and felt like a fever dream. I only saw it once in 1985 when I was 4 years old
This is on one of those "Old School" Sesame Street DVDS.

Same. When this came on I had to leave the room. Freaked me the hell out.
I was a baby in the 80’s. Scared me too. But not anymore.
