  • In this episode we pack in 6 weeks of travels to 17 Lake Michigan marinas into one video. The video is focused on the travel and not the actual destinations, so it's fast paced.

    I really like that appreciation is expressed often in the videos. The beautiful scenery, the sunsets etc. is not taken for granted but really noticed for what it is. It is amazing to be out in nature on the water and is a gift.

    Had to pause at 6:15 to ask if you would kindly relay this to your Father. " Sir, I want to say Thank You for your service to our Country and Welcome Home! I salute you with heart felt gratitude and admiration."
    Thanks for passing the message along.

      He continues to serve in the American Legion as a color guard organizing funeral service honors for fellow veterans. I’ll pass along your message to him-he’ll appreciate it.

    Very cool video. Loved it! I grew up in Northern Door in the summers and currently live in Illinois. Our current boat was purchased from the dock (I think even the exact slip) you stayed on in Sturgeon Bay (Centerpointe) during that hellacious storm (excellent timing 😬!). We currently keep our boat in Kenosha (Southport). Maybe I’ll look you up next summer when we take a fleet of boats from our marina to Lakeshore state park for Summerfest. Enjoy!!!

    Nice video! Glad to see that you two are enjoying the boating life on Lake Michigan. It's a great place to be. For those of you who have boats and can get here, do it! Many people who have never been on the great lakes don't realize how big and beautiful they are. Especially the east side of Lake Michigan. Anyway, next time you are around WMI, let me know. I'd love to say hello!

    Great great video just found your channel planning to retire and used absolute or azimut megallano how does your 52 foot handle in rough water?? Does the boat feel solid?? I am tryin to choose between these two boats. Does your boat have gyro stabilizers or sea keepers?? Thank you new subscriber 😀😀👍👍👍👍👍

      I often refer to our Absolute Navetta as a little ship. It handles very well in rough conditions-you’ll see some of that in our other videos. We do have the Seakeeper gyro and I won’t buy another boat without one. It really does work.

    Love your videos! My wife and I are trying to decide the 52 or the 64 Nevetta. Just the two of us like you! Oh and the dog! Why did you choose the Absolute if I may ask? Thank you!

    • @MV-SullAcqua
      @MV-SullAcqua  2 роки тому +2

      We chose the Absolute because of the quality and layout. The 52 fit us well without being too big to find slips. It gets harder to find slips as you get larger. We love love love the visibility from inside the cabins. I can navigate from inside helm with full 360 visibility. The flybridge is also huge. So many place to move around to (bow couch, cockpit table, flybridge aft, flybridge table are, and flybridge forward-and of course inside.

      We are on a journey of a lifetime right now on the boat. We sold our Milwaukee house, moved aboard Sull’Acqua, and navigating down to Florida via Canada to the ICW of the east coast. Doesn’t get much better than this. 😃. You can follow us along on FaceTime (@MYSullAcqua) and Instagram (@Sull.Acqua)

    I just subscribed. Another great video. Do you ever cruise around 8-9 knots with just one engine at a time to increase efficiency? If so, what's your hourly fuel consumption? We're looking at making a one or two year old Navetta 52 or 58 our vacation home in Ft Lauderdale. I like that the speed is there if needed but I'd rather go slow with maximum efficiency to the Bahamas and the Keys. Thanks for posting. Love your videos and hope you do more.

    • @MV-SullAcqua
      @MV-SullAcqua  2 роки тому +1

      I don't cruise with just a single engine, though I know it's possible in an emergency. I definitely feel more comfortable having two engines than one. The prop system is made up of two pods that independently adjust in a coordinated way to help maximize steering and propulsion and are forward facing. They are supposed to provide greater efficiency as a result. We most typically cruise around 9-15 kts and fuel consumption varies depending on various conditions, but I can update that information on upcoming videos. We are leaving mid-July to drive the boat around Michigan, through Canada, and down the east coast ICW to Florida for the winter. And just a heads up that our boat will likely become available to purchase around March of 2023, so if you're serious about an Absolute Navetta 52 that is 2 years old (though it's a 2022 model year), I can keep you posted on the availability of this one. Follow our Instagram @Sull.Acqua, or Facebook @MYSullAcqua. From there you can PM your contact info, as well as follow us along on our travels from here to there.

      I think that Volvo say don't tow an IPS boat for extended periods without removing the props. Presumably this is because the props turning would turn the drivetrain without adequate lubrication. I guess this would also mean that you shouldn't run on a single engine for extended periods too.

    New subscriber! Beautiful boat. Your video content and editing is on point, very interesting. What’s the origin or story behind her name? Best wishes!

      Thank you! Sull’Acqua is the Italian translation to “On The Water.” Since it’s an Italian made boat, we thought it was an appropriate name.

    Did you drive the boat all the way from the ocean to Chicago or have someone delivery travel by the highway?

    • @MV-SullAcqua
      @MV-SullAcqua  2 роки тому

      In this video, we drove the boat ourselves around Lake Michigan to 17 different marinas--about 1,000 miles. If you're asking about when the boat arrived from Italy, it came across the ocean on a freight liner (Italy to Cleveland, OH). From there it was driven to St. Claire Shores, MI for final touches. We picked up the vessel in St. Claire Shores and have been driving it ourselves ever since. Hope that helps answer your question.
