Epica, Within Temptation, even smaller bands like Visions of Atlantis have done it. I'm wondering what took Nightwish so long to tour or at least perform with an orchestra
Dear UA-cam. I have watched more than a thousand Nightwish videos over the past 7 years for sure. So why on earth did you never put this in my recommendations? Never!?! Broooooo. Nooo, lets feed this dude zit popping videos instead
...(sorry, did not good complete previous comment) This Performance is amazing. Just beautiful ✨ After all the years there are still comments. Wow. Thanks to the Artists and to all of You.
I was waiting to see the conductor turn to the audience and pump his fist while yelling "hey, hey, hey, hey!" Part of me was hoping to see a couple of the parents crowd surfing to the front of the audience.
Thank you! We really appreciate your compliment! :) We hope that nightwish will see it, too one day, but are afraid at the same time, that they accuse us due to copyrightblabla... :D but i don't think they would do such a thing :) so let's just hope they'll see it and feel well :)
WOW!!! Very well done! On the contrary I think they would be very very proud! Amazing job! You honestly did it majestic justice to Tuomas' work. I think him and the rest of night wish would very much appreciate this. The power and grace behind everyone was beautiful!! So awesome to have been able to put this together! Great job everyone!
Amazing, I just discovered this on Christmas 2020. Thank you for the great work that you put into this. Nightwish Army Germany reporting. (shame on UA-cam for not showing me this earlier)
Imagine being a Grand-Parent to attend a grand-child's concert and asking who is the composer Tuomas Holopainen. Was he a contemporary of Mozart? Yes, but a few years separated them.
I can't believe I just now discovered this video! I used to sing in my university's choir and I would've LOVED to perform this. Amazing job, well done. I hope Nightwish sees this someday.
Why the HECK did it take me so many years to stumble upon this!! Anyway - absolutely amazing, great job!!!! And the most important question... Any signs of Nightwish having watched it? ;)
Same for me !! I don't understand why I didn't hear about it any sooner than that !? Anyway that is such a amazing and impressive performance, we really need more of this kind of orchestra and choir project !!!
OH my lord! Why the hell I hadn't watched this. I'm a fan since 2002 and this brought my tears down! This is amazing! I always wanted Nightwish made a concert with orchestra to hear this particular song
Fantastic Job! Well done all concerned..... and for those who "disliked" this, I'd sincerely suggest you at least read how it was done and by who! Many Kudos to the students and teacher for taking rock back to its roots. Thank You.
So. Why this never showed up on my yt wall?? Omg what a performance, i will defenately share this, holy Floor! I will watch the wacken gig thinking about this video 😍
Amazed that two students arranged the score, at times I wished the chorus came out a bit louder, but that criticism would only be fair if we were talking about an orchestra of the caliber of the London Symphony, and doesn’t detract from a sterling job. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I have wondered why good music programs at schools haven't performed their music. Always thought a drum Corp (DCI) could blow the audience away with many of their arrangements. This was great to see and hear!
Awesome. You make me cry. No words. You are amazing. Bravo. You deserve more views on youtube. I hope one day Nightwish will do a live with an orchestra like you.
Beautiful! Congratulations to all the people in the orchestra and choir! You are beautifully talented. And even that many years later you have made my day. Hope you are still rocking 🥰
Fantastico!!!
Tuomas should hire this choir + orchestra for their next live tour! Even if it's been more than 8 years ago... They would do such a great backing track/ backing choirs! And the dream of thousands of Nightwish fans would finally come true!
I hope the audience appreciated the complexity of this piece and the work that must have been put in prior to this performance. It is easy to dismiss anything written by a "metal" band as trite and musically simplistic. Nighwish is hardly any of those. I hope Tuomas has seen this I am sure it would touch his heart and I am sure he would be impressed by a bunch of kids tackling the arrangement. Good form. Very good form.
Just stumbled over this, Holy Moly what a piece of art!! Absolutely amazing performence, and endless goosebump ride. I really hope I can experience live an orchestral version of GLS some time in the future…..
This is probably the best cover of this song I have ever seen and heard. Outstanding job to everyone involved, not an easy task arranging that from the original to make it more orchestra/choir friendly, must have taken a lot of hard work and practice. Really enjoyed this performance, bravo 😁
This is the biggest appreciation for Nightwish. Tho the sound quality aint the best the love for the song is incredible. Great job by these musicians wow!!!!
Everyone did a wonderful job indeed! The sopranos actually sung the famous last high note (sung by Floor later in the year 2012!) at least four times near the end of the song. Each time shorter than Floor of course, but the note is there! The arrangers did a great job. They had to arrange the music for *two* choirs: one that's also on the backing track with Nightwish performances and one for the lyrics of the female lead singer.
@@xKasumiChan Not at the time of the performance of this choir, indeed, but search for the Nightwhish video of Ghost Love Score Buenos Aires 2012 and you'll see and hear Floor sing that note (listen to the reaction of the audience!) - while she joined the band just a couple of months before... very impressive!
@@henkvandenbos9769 I know that performance, but it was still at the end of the 2012 year, so technically nobody knew about that high note, because Tarja didn't sing it like that.
@@xKasumiChan Ah, now I see what you mean. Indeed, they are not imitating Floors note. The note is in the logic of the music (wasn't it played by the keyboard?). I think that's why the choir sings it in this arrangement and why it has become a part of the new ending by Floor.
Amazingly, incredibly good job!!!!! I found it a truly satisfying experience listening to this. Tuomas would be proud to hear what you've done. I hope he has seen it!
This Was AMAZING ! That has been here for 8 years and I haven't seen this before? How's that possible? The audience should have given a standing ovation for this. Congrats to everyone on stage. You've really blown me away with this piece of art!
I would have liked to see the introduction before this music. Were they "Now our orchestra would like to present a song by Finnish heavy metal band called Nighwish. The song is called Ghost Love Score"?
Notice at 9:45 the higher choir vocals actually do a similar vocal line to what Floor does when she hits that epic last note...before Floor was even a part of Nightwish! Interesting to see how to two different things took a similar note...
Wow, this is extraordinary. The sound engineer (assuming there was one - never certain with school projects!) did you few favours here and talent shines through regardless. Although the drums and choir dominate the recording, the string section is absolutely haunting, especially toward the end!
Really great work... I know this song inside out and I think it's worthy of being played by a symphonic orchestra. Shout out to this talented group, I believe it's the only attempt like this for Ghost Love Score on youtube. There is a 4 min version (unfortunately) from Rock Symphony as well, but that's it... I would love to hear more such Nightwish interpretations.
This school's music director needs a raise.
A massive permanent raise
Amazing. If only we could see Nightwish with a real orchestra on stage...
That’ll be fucking amazing!
Some day you will. Tuomas has said that it will happen some day. :)
Epica, Within Temptation, even smaller bands like Visions of Atlantis have done it. I'm wondering what took Nightwish so long to tour or at least perform with an orchestra
Because the band is completely reliant on click tracks
Dear UA-cam. I have watched more than a thousand Nightwish videos over the past 7 years for sure. So why on earth did you never put this in my recommendations? Never!?! Broooooo. Nooo, lets feed this dude zit popping videos instead
First time I've seen just now too - what's going on with youtube, yet every reaction video to GLS is there as soon as it's posted, hmmmm 😕
Yes, makes me wonder about their priorities.
yeah man, 2012 really?? i hear them so many years a ago, i put in text "nigthwish instrumental" and finish here xD
I second that. Frickin stupid suggestions that I already clicked on the not interested or irrelevant and it's the first time in years I see this one!
Same here!
Why did this performance take EIGHT YEARS for me to come across this?!
just saw this, almost 9 years for me ♣ very impressive
10 years for me.
They are amazing. I Love this song, never

Don’t worry. It took me 12 years…

Congratulation for this amazing cover ! I hope Tuomas will watch this video, he would be honored !
i bet he saw it....
Wow! I hope to see Nightwish touring with an orchestra.
Amazing cover!! I can't believe this was arranged by two students. The orchestra was splendid :)

I don't care how old this is. It made me so happy.

So great to see young people come together in appreciation of great music and pulling something like this off.

Come on why would such a great band sue music students for having done such a great try. I think they would be so proud of you
They should ask if they can do a live performance with you instead :-p
Nightwish wants that you sing their songs! so they dont make copyright things....
