it is so inspirational to hear you and can feel through the screen the amazing time you had there. I'm a Colombian living in Australia atm and I do lo to explore around the world. I'm glad you had the decision of a solo travel, there's not better way to connect with yourself and see how strong you are. Wish you the best...xoxo....
What a lovely comment, thankyou so much! It really is an incredible place, I also hope that you are loving living in Australia! Solo travel is very special. It can be hard at time, but the experience is so worth it!! Wishing you the best, cheers :)
Yay! Stoked for you. SEA is an awesome place for a first international trip. The people in this region are incredibly friendly and are always willing to help. Don’t forget to make use of Google Translate and download the languages of each country to have them at all times! Super helpful for finding your way around :) Safe travels!
thanks for this!! planning 9 months in eastern asia and oceania for next year and even after years of solo traveling there’s been some nerves with all the uncertainty. helps so much to see it visualized
An awesome video that's really well put together, I really loved the intro and b-roll, and it looked like such a great trip! Excited to see what's next on the channel :)
Great video! Will be tackling South East Asia pretty soon so thanks for putting this together. Had to leave a comment because I met the Aussie bloke with the moustache in the Philippines when I was solo traveling in 2022! Think the timestamp is about 2.40 in, forgot his name but he definitely had a cool nickname !
Thankyou so much! There’ll be plenty more like this incoming :) I plan to travel Europe next year, so be sure to stick around for that!! I use Da Vinci Resolve for editing. The film edits are free ones I found online :)
Loved the intro- but the full video is really well put together, very nice to watch :) How scenic is Vietnam 😍 and Pai is just the perfect place! Laos looked amazing, never got chance to go this time around. :( Hot air balloon in Vang Vieng is such a bucket list tick! Since you have made some great videos, i was wondering if you also like watching travel content. If you do, we would really appreciate some feed back on any of our videos to help us improve the quality of them. We would really appreciate it if you could find time to do this. Absolutely no problem if you don't, thanks for taking the time to read my comment :)
Hi I was just wondering what camera you used to get the older style pictures bc I want to get one for when I go backpacking in SE Asia when I leave school
Hi! I used a few different cameras includig iPhone 12, Canon EOS 750D 18-25mm & 55-250mm lens and GoPro. The ‘older’ style images are using my Canon. However, I wouldnt recommend getting a bulky camera for travel because it’s way too big to carry around! Grab yourself a nifty little digital camera of some sort and itll to the trick :) safe travels!
Hi not sure if it’s too late for questions but I’m just wondering how you find all of the activities, for example where to get your scuba diving license, hot air balloon, and the two day hike you did in this video. I’ll be going in October and am not sure where to look for these activities.
Never too late for questions! I didn’t do any research prior to leaving, I heard it all from word of mouth. When you get to hostels, people obviously chat about everything theyve been up to, and then that will give you loads of ideas of things to do! Before going on this trip, I had no idea that id become a scuba diver or cruise in a hot air balloon. Sometimes the unknown is bliss!!! You can find these activities at hostels, simply ask what are some things to do in the area and theyll tell you the best things to do :) Safe travels!
Thats so kind of you!!! Its honestly an incredible place to travel, I couldn’t recommend it enough!!!! I started in Vietnam, and then went to Thailand, Laos, and Indonesia :) Yep! Apply for the Vietnam visa well before entering the country! X Happy travels :)
Yes!! This happened a couple of times. You can get ‘dummy flight tickets’ online if you’re unsure of when u plan to leave the country. Im not exactly sure of the legalities of this in each country though, so just beware!
Hiya! I didn’t follow an itinerary as such, I just went with what felt right / where people told me I should check out :) However, this is the order of places I went! It was a total of 6 months. In terms of cost, I believe it was about $12,000 AUD. Vietnam - Hanoi - Ninh Binh - Cua Lo - Phong Nha - Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An - Quy Nhon - Da Lat - Ho Chi Minh / Saigon Thailand - Bangkok - Chiang Mai - Pai Laos - Huay Xai - Luang Namtha - Luang Prabang - Vang Vieng - Vientiane Thailand - Phuket - Krabi - Koh Samui - Koh Pha Ngan - Koh Tao - Bangkok Indonesia - Bali - Gili Trawangan
I did this a couple of years ago, so I assume prices may have changed a little bit. But i spent around $12000 AUD. I saved for a few years working all sorts of jobs to pay for it :)
I didn’t create an itinerary, but I can let you know what I did :) Here it is: Vietnam (6 weeks) - Hanoi - Ninh Binh - Cua Lo - Phong Nha - Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An - Quy Nhon - Da Lat - Ho Chi Minh / Saigon Thailand (4 weeks) - Bangkok - Chiang Mai - Pai Laos (2 weeks) - Huay Xai - Luang Namtha - Luang Prabang - Vang Vieng - Vientiane Thailand (8 weeks) - Phuket - Krabi - Koh Samui - Koh Pha Ngan - Koh Tao - Bangkok Indonesia (4 weeks) - Bali - Gili Trawangan
