Great video! With what camera did you shoot the retro films?
Hi I was just wondering what camera you used to get the older style pictures bc I want to get one for when I go backpacking in SE Asia when I leave school
Hi! I used a few different cameras includig iPhone 12, Canon EOS 750D 18-25mm & 55-250mm lens and GoPro. The ‘older’ style images are using my Canon. However, I wouldnt recommend getting a bulky camera for travel because it’s way too big to carry around! Grab yourself a nifty little digital camera of some sort and itll to the trick :) safe travels!
@@AshleeMorganthank you so much
Super contribution in make up for traveling
Thank you!
Will you marry me? Queen
how much do you recomend saving before doing something like this?
I did this a couple of years ago, so I assume prices may have changed a little bit. But i spent around $12000 AUD. I saved for a few years working all sorts of jobs to pay for it :)
Verry nice ❤❤
Thank you!
No way you skipped Cambodia :O - If you ever go back to SE-Asia, I highly, highly recommend it!!
I know!! I’ve heard great things about Cambodia. I’ll definitely visit. Any spots you recommend? :)
Love the way you organized your video. Gives me inspiration on how to direct mine. Best to you! 😄🎒
Thankyou kindly! Most welcome :)
Glad to see your video ❤😊
Thanks!!! :)
I want to go on my first solo travel too, my key question here is how did u get to meet other people?
Hi there! I met most people through hostels, nights out, day trips, group tours etc :) safe travels!
it is so inspirational to hear you and can feel through the screen the amazing time you had there. I'm a Colombian living in Australia atm and I do lo to explore around the world. I'm glad you had the decision of a solo travel, there's not better way to connect with yourself and see how strong you are. Wish you the best...xoxo....
What a lovely comment, thankyou so much! It really is an incredible place, I also hope that you are loving living in Australia! Solo travel is very special. It can be hard at time, but the experience is so worth it!! Wishing you the best, cheers :)
Dexter Morgan
glad you enjoyed it
I did!
Can suggest to your last volunteer in Thailand n How to connect there without backpacker
Superb
Let’s be friends
it's amazing
Thankyou!
Awesome 🎉
Cheers!!
Great video! Will be tackling South East Asia pretty soon so thanks for putting this together. Had to leave a comment because I met the Aussie bloke with the moustache in the Philippines when I was solo traveling in 2022! Think the timestamp is about 2.40 in, forgot his name but he definitely had a cool nickname !
@@kasunovacovers9786 Awesome! Most welcome, its such a great place to travel :) Hahaha, thats Bender, hes a legend! Safe travels!

cutest lone wolf citybreaker ;)
Do you have any plans to visit Switzerland if not you should .
I think I may visit next year! What places do you recommend I visit? :)
Thx Ashley.
Most welcome!
Video was so good to see what it's actually like. I am on the cusp of buying a plane ticket out to Thailand and travel SE Asia, but want to do volunteering (i have subscribed to workaway). I am not sure if i should get something booked before i go/and if i need a visa to workaway at somewhere like this farm - do you have a work visa?
Thanks for the feedback :) It’s a great place to travel, and I recommend it. I recommend looking into volunteering visas in Thailand, but I was only here for about 4-5 days so I just went in on a tourist visa. I’d recommend applying to some places before you head out, but they’re usually pretty chill and you shouldn’t have too much of a problem getting a spot! Safe travels!
Has it changed your life for the better..if so how?
It absolutely did! I got the chance to learn skills I wouldn’t typically come across and I was exposed to a different way of life. An experience like this makes you realise how much unecessary junk we bring into our lives and how we can live with much less. It’s incredibly peaceful and simple, a really beautiful experience! :)
Really good aerial views on the island. What a great spot.
Cheers! Its a very pretty old town
What a stunning place. That trek up the mountain would have been so worth the views. Awesome place and great video Ashlee
Kotor was amazing! Yeah the hike was a little rough. very hot
Excellent work.
Thankyou kindly :)
I'm glad you had a good time in Budapest. You are very good at pronouncing street names. I hope you come back in a warmer season and try one of the thermal baths.
Thankyou! I try my best, but always open to corrections :) That would be lovely, the thermal baths look incredible!
I will so love this
Its a very fun experience!
The shipwreck looked pretty cool and you are right, be nice to see more fish - they add life and colour. Loved the aerial shots of Kas area. Really nice spot!
Cheers! The shipwreck was super cool, havent done anything like it before!
You are so authentic and kind person ❤ Beautiful and peaceful video. I'm new at worldpackers and accepting volunteers in my land in Portugal CasteloBranco, I hope you and people like you came to visit us😉
Thankyou! Thats such a sweet comment. Incredible! I will be in Portugal soon. I may stop by ❤️
how did you make money while traveling? did you save a ton beforehand?
I didn’t make any money during travel. However, I’d been saving for about 4 years for a trip like this :)
Hi not sure if it’s too late for questions but I’m just wondering how you find all of the activities, for example where to get your scuba diving license, hot air balloon, and the two day hike you did in this video. I’ll be going in October and am not sure where to look for these activities.
Never too late for questions! I didn’t do any research prior to leaving, I heard it all from word of mouth. When you get to hostels, people obviously chat about everything theyve been up to, and then that will give you loads of ideas of things to do! Before going on this trip, I had no idea that id become a scuba diver or cruise in a hot air balloon. Sometimes the unknown is bliss!!! You can find these activities at hostels, simply ask what are some things to do in the area and theyll tell you the best things to do :) Safe travels!
hey, when you set up the bed, it seemed to be no room for the bags and luggage, where did you put them?
It actually created plenty of space underneath the bed! However you mostly had the stand outside to pull the luggage out from underneath / lift the bed up to get into the storage boxes
@AshleeMorgan, thank you. Was the bed fit for 2 adults? It looks pretty small.😅
It fits two :) my brother is 6’2” and felt it was a little short. I’m 5’4” and found it fine. Theres enough space side to side, we each had our own blankets / bedding and went opposite ends of the bed and there was enough space!
awsome i will try it this year thx for sharing your experience with us
Have fun!
thanks for this!! planning 9 months in eastern asia and oceania for next year and even after years of solo traveling there’s been some nerves with all the uncertainty. helps so much to see it visualized <3
Yay! You’re going to have a blast! You’re most welcome. Loads more fun travel vlogs incoming :)
You remind me of an old friend that has that exact name hope she’s doing well
Thats very sweet. I hope shes well too!
What about the process of volunteering visa ?
There is no volunteering visa! I entered on a tourist visa
@@AshleeMorgan then on tourist visa you did volunteering?
Yes
@@AshleeMorgan yes so that is illegal 😂😂 you need volunteer visa called NON-O visa silly 😂
@@TalaashKumar Thanks for letting me know! :)
So nice and beautiful vlog. New friend and new subscriber here. Stay connected dear friend. Luv from 🇦🇪
Thankyou so much!
😍😍👍👍💖💖🥰🥰
Can you let us know your full itinerary and the cost?
Hiya! I didn’t follow an itinerary as such, I just went with what felt right / where people told me I should check out :) However, this is the order of places I went! It was a total of 6 months. In terms of cost, I believe it was about $12,000 AUD. Vietnam - Hanoi - Ninh Binh - Cua Lo - Phong Nha - Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An - Quy Nhon - Da Lat - Ho Chi Minh / Saigon Thailand - Bangkok - Chiang Mai - Pai Laos - Huay Xai - Luang Namtha - Luang Prabang - Vang Vieng - Vientiane Thailand - Phuket - Krabi - Koh Samui - Koh Pha Ngan - Koh Tao - Bangkok Indonesia - Bali - Gili Trawangan
