What happened to the setting about having the option for do not disturb only when the phone is locked? How do I reactivate that?

When somebody puts on do not disturb, you can see that if you try to text them. Can you see that with sleep mode? That’s all I wanna know

I dont have sleep enabled..just have DoNotDisturb but the calls are not going through. If I change the setting to allow calls from everyone then the ringer is not silenced. But if I select any other option then it gives me busy tone.

Is there a simple way to silence texts and not see a notification either? Prior to the update, I was able to select Do Not Disturb and it worked straight across for all texts & calls. It seems more complicated now that I need to filter through and that is where my confusion begins.
