I love having favorites set up so they can always get thru still. I use this feature tons helps when I don't want to be bothered
If I stream music (like on Apple Music) with Do Not Disturb on, will incoming calls or texts cause any dip in the music volume? I work in a clinic, and would like to stream chill music while doing treatments with a patient, so I want to have uninterrupted music playing.

Also: Clock app > Sleep | Wake Up > Change > Edit Sleep Schedule > Wind Down (will automatically initiate Do Not Disturb based on Wind Down time based off of your scheduled sleep time, example, you sleep 10pm-6am with a Wind Down of 1-hour, Do Not Disturb will then turn on at 9pm).

I have latest iOS on iPhone XR and GPS location is turned on, yet when I force touch Do Not Disturb in control center, “when I leave this location” is not a choice...only choices are “for one hour”, “until tomorrow morning”, or “schedule”.

Hello! Is there a way to allow the text messenger sound notifications to go through "do not disturb" mode along with favorite contacts calls? For example, you do not want all the calls to disturb you, but you want to be notified when your favorite contact is calling and when he sends you a message. I know how to manage the calls, but not the message sound notification. I can't find the message option in the "do not disturb" settings. Thank you for your videos!

Whenever I turn do not disturb off and i turn off scheduled time it turns right back on then it turns to greyscale and when i go to accesibility it say greyscale is turned off. What should i do. There is no color at all just a bunch grey, black and white i cant play or wacth anything
I have the samsung galaxy 6 active. Ive tried to use the "do not disturb" option but it doesnt work properly. It has the option for exceptions,,, none, contacts, favorite contacts. Problem is my contacts say they cant get thru and my phone wont ring,,, they will have to try several times before they can get thru. Needless to say this irritates them and also me. So Ive given up on that option , turned DND off and also all calls even unwanted calls get thru.

I turned on do not disturb. 2 minutes later I was disturbed by a text that notified me regardless. What is the point of this function if it is completely useless?
I noticed that when I turn on do not disturb on my iPad, it automatically turns on as well on my iPhone, and vice versa. I just want to activate on one device, any idea?

I have it completely turned off with nothing scheduled yet all throughout the day, not being in car, I will look at the phone and see that do not disturb is on without me doing it. It’s been like this for about 3 weeks now and is beyond frustrating.

How do you still allow texts to come through from your favorites?
The new iOS 15 update now allows text messages to get through in Focus Sleep Mode and Do Not Disturb Mode. Just add the particular contact in the Focus “Allow Notifications” option. You tap on “allow people” and your contact list pops up. Tap the contact you want to add and then tap “Done”. You will now receive text alerts from that person real time, meaning the text tone will sound snd phone screen awaken alerting you received a text from that contact.

Not accurate info. Repeated calls will bypass my do not disturb regardless of settings set on my iPhone plus.

I don't like the fact that Apple thinks it knows what the customer wants (regardless of who you are). They intentionally don't include a feature to turn off all notifications. Why do I need to sequentially go through every app and say No, I don't want this 30 times for 30 different apps? Because it helps their business model. Good apps should be simple and efficient when called upon. Not constantly pinging us all day for no legitimate reasons.

Totally agree with you! I'm on my first iPhone, and I'm actually considering going back to Android just because of this! I'm pretty happy with iOS in general, but this one thing really annoys me!

This is hell for people with anxiety that are trying to reach someone and they don't know because of this mode.
Nothing you can do about it. It’s boundaries. Simply be less anxious and understand that ppl are entitled to their personal time alone. They don’t always have to be available. They’ll eventually see your missed call/messages and return them when they choose to. It’s not like they can’t see the notifications on their screen 🤷🏽♂️

I got a tip for you Marcus... I'm quite positive if someone with IPhone throws you on do not disturb, if you call them the 1st time it goes straight to voice-mail. But if you call them right back within 3 minutes, this time it will ring for you, and their phone will ring for them. Now if they still don't answer, you can wait say however long (15 mins) and call back again. If goes straight to voice-mail then, then BOOM, it's for sure on do not disturb. Not sure why proper just don't put it on silent. Fkn stupid. I also get the anxiety bro. Got a daughter and a woman, both put me thru hell sometimes.

No one mastered this other than android. I got 20 calls from the same number and i called them back and asked why 20 calls ? He said because your phone is busy and I thought you are making another call.

I’m not picking on this person giving the tip on how to use do not disturb. I used to use DO NOT DISTURB with ease and it worked 100% of the time. But I don’t know what iOS change it was but but it became focus. And my focus settings do not look a thing like the ones I have looked at on the last three UA-cam videos on how to silence unwanted calls. And I have a brand new two week old iPhone 15. Top of the line. And FOCUS settings do not look a thing like any of those three that I mentioned on screen.
I don’t know what it is about millennials and generation Z. They have to have 18 ways how to do something on a telephone. Excuse me a phone. It’s like old TV set back in the day when I was growing up. We had one on off knob. It worked great. no confusion.

Why would he call it “system preferences” on an instructional video when it clearly says “settings”? It says settings on every iphone. Threw me off right in the begining. What a jerk.

Here’s something else to think about. There are 1000 ways to do one activity on these phones. I’m used to picking the thing up and speaking. Simple. But nothing is simple today. And here’s the real danger. I or anyone else that does not know what they’re doing could turn off a very important feature. And you don’t know you did this or you may need this down the road and forgot you turned it off. I will sue Apple for this nonsense, and I do not mean nonsense, but they probably won’t let me put what I truly mean
This stupid idea of ‘focus’ is a load of crap!! What I want is ‘do not disturb’ on and off. And that’s it, period!
