I was ten years at that time, and my Mother and Father always watch the Lawrence Welk Show on a Saturday night. Big Tiny Little and Joann Castle can play that piano terrific. What beautiful memories I had. Can’t include today though. I wish time can go back. The 50s and early sixties were the best time of life for me. My wonderful parents and good friends and relatives.
For those who might not know, Big Tiny Little was a regular on the Welk show playing ragtime from 1955 to 1959 and almost from the very beginning of it. He left and Jo Ann Castle took over and was a regular from 1959 to 1969. I never knew there was a show that had both of them. Very nice.
A fun bit of music. There was much intrigue going on there. Tiny was never paid extra for all the specialty numbers he did. He asked for a raise and Welk brought in his replacement. Here they are playing together.
Jo Ann was so pretty and so talented. I used to love watching her play. But her life was tragic…although, I just looked and apparently she’s still alive, 83. ❤

Omar, Thank you for posting this video. It is totally awesome and beyond. 🙂🙂🙂
Jo Ann was a prodigy. To do what they're doing: playing correctly, looking away, and giving showmanship. Jo Ann is on another level here. Sorry Tiny.
She and that tin pan piano was the best of the champagne music❤
Joann was beautiful then still is very classy lady and still has great showmanship on the ivories

Love it! Wunnerful, wunnerful...
My father played honky Tonk piano “ Hot Toddy McGann”🎶♥️😊
I always wondered why there were 88 keys. Enough for both to play

2:02 if looks could kill 👀
I don't know what it is about that song but it makes me think of an old time Felix the Cat cartoon in black and white.
They make it look so easy... well, it's not. Let's see if anyone nowadays can do this in one take...
Both we talented pianists didn't big tiny little come from Minnesota?
How was she?
Dat Vas Werry Uteful, Werry Uteful...(question as to the spelling)
Twenty Finger Rag.
Jo Anne was quite a looker back in the day. It’s too bad the booze & drugs took over.
Yes she was. Hard to believe how short life is. She and my mother were the same age.
