Not only is this performance amazing but the arrangement is fabulous. Thanks a lot for posting this clip.
I played piano and accordion for 10 years. I am still in awe of Joann Castle. She mastered those ivories like no one else I've ever seen
What a talent. Joann Castle brings so much joy.
That’s what good musicians sound like! ❤️
She makes it look so easy and done so effortlessly. That's talent
Jo Ann Castle is a true joy to behold! The smile, the hair, the talent, energy, etc. I've always adored her!
Me too. Wish I could meet her.
Listen up folk's. Wonder what real music sounds like ?? Just listen to her. No Autotune, Just real talent. God bless you all, Jim
Autotune on a piano? I hope you are not serious or do you think a piano tunes itself? If you are then your brain needs an overhaul. Also, it is a matter of taste as to whether this is real music or not. Bach she ain’t.
What talent and beauty. A true joy to listen to and see her enthusiasm. I wish that I had 10% of it.
...lost count of how many times I've listened to this - abso-bloomin-lutely fantastic.
She was never less than GREAT!
She can really tickle those ivories !! Great talent !
She can really play that piano. Love Ragtime.
Back when my family lived in pristine suburban Nampa, ID, my mother used to take us to local concerts like that. I remember every year they have a huge Banjo Festival with hundreds of old time musicians very similar to this every year in nearby Caldwell, ID. I miss those days
This might be my favorite L.W. number of all time.
Fantastic arrangement for Jo Ann with the orchestra and chorus. I'd love this on record...
Imagine her playing alongside Liberace all those smiles and talent
I don't believe she ever had a chance to play with Liberace. It's too bad because they both had that wonderful enthusiasm when playing.
I think it's a shame that JoAnne never got the recognition for playing the piano that she so deserved.
Joanne is also wonderful playing classical music, Chopin etc.
this was just so wonderful to listen to! She's amazing!
That Dippity-Do hair! I always loved seeing her perform on these shows. Thanks for uploading this.
hehe...Dippity-Do...forgot about that stuff
Hard to believe how awesome this is. I love her and the strings. Everything in this is awesome.
perfect rendition..!!
Truly appreciated.
Isn't she great!? Isn't ragtime great!? Thanks for this posting.
Amazing
So beautiful. The show was great. And these internain ers were great
BRAVO
One of THE very best!
She is the queen of the 88s!
She is giving that Liberace smile
God. Even Alladin is like really digging this! Get a look. Wow! You go Joann!
Love the smile very cheerful person !!!
That's talent, and no sheet music to read
Lots of practice no doubt!
She smiles like a 50's house wife
If she was as good wife as she could play piano it would have been great. She was married several times...
Thank you for posting this. It was on the Lawrence Welk Show Fans page, and it was recently taken down. 😄
JoAnn Castle is a great, talented lady & she makes me smile & be happy. Love her.
you just can't help but smile along
what amazing musicians !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Solo una mujer puede darle este sonido maravilloso al piano!!!🌸🌸🌸
Still sounds amazing!!
Hard to say which the better performance is...'64 or '67.
She seems to have three more years in her fingers for the '67 version but I really enjoy the fuller strings in the band's accompaniment in this version.
Heartbreakingly awesome!
...guy's slammin' that snare like a trooper
Such Joy!
Oh, the sixties and Jo Ann Castle, what a time... I recall reading that Welk didn't really like her, but he couldn't argue with the revenue and popularity/ratings she brought in for his business.
Magical her magic and the violins
This is real entertainment.❤
Love her to bits❣💯
Thanks !!! ❤
Wow, amazing!
AMEZING
Keeping that left hand busy!
Cheesy as all hell, but who can deny that talent?
Tim Mader Talent, true, but cheese??
I love JoAnn
Great
Wunnerful, wunnerful!
what would be funny , cause I love slapstick comedy , I bet you Could throw a pie in Jo Ann's face while she is playing & she would still be smiling while playing
Me impresiona como con la parte de arriba de las manos recorre el piano impresionante!!??🥳🥳🥳😁
Superbe!
Jo Ann was so talented , both her & Del Wood knew how to tickle those Ivories
Very stylish!
Супер!!!!
Simpler times of long ago.
Abla hiç albüm yapmamış galiba? Hep bu ihtiyarı dinlemek zorunda kalıyoruz.
Wow. Any idea if the whole episodes are available somehow?
Im the 999th like
La rubia pianista no mostro como apretaba los pedales con sus tacos altos.
I wonder if she can play classical music
Of course! She actually lied to Lawrence Welk to get her job! Someone told LW about a girl they knew who could play ragtime and honky-tonk piano, so he got ahold of her phone number, called her up, and the first question he asked was, "How big is your repertoire?" (Jo-Ann retells this with a hint of innuendo.) Only 19 years old, she lied, stating she knew over 300 ragtime and honky-tonk songs-she barely knew 3 songs-which she could perform at an audition. It only took her one song, "Piano Roll Boogy," to convince him she was the one, and he hired her on her 20th birthday.
Female liberace !
it must be a mechanical doll that is playing piano
When JoAnn played, the best thing they could havd doee was to leave the orchestra comepletey out of it and let her play.
Sometimes it's hard to hear the melody when she's playing ragtime piano so the orchestra helps back her up
❤❤❤❤❤
