As a Swedish person I think I would recommend this video to anyone trying to learn Swedish, although I wouldn't actually mind people speaking swedish with a American or British accent because i would still be able to understand what you are saying even if you pronounce things incorrectly.
I wanna learn swedish because I have a plan to come swedan and do the Masters and work there...I'm Sri Lankan....Can i learn swedish atleast a basic knowledge ?
I agree. I am British English and it is really offputting hearing an American accent. A Swedish English accent would be better and I'd like to learn Swedish from a Swedish person.
In the case clear nouns, the absence of the indefinite article "ett" / "en" makes it also next-to-impossible to have any idea about the definite / plural forms.
So close to English- I am confident if I try- I can converse in six months....Swedes speak Engish well too- so they can correct me if I do not pronoubce properly
I like these vocabulary videos as it is the fastest way to understanding and basic speech. Too bad that the words are not ranked from most used to least used. Words like 'New Delhi' are hardly used in Swedish so should be at the end of the video.... Also, I have a hard time believing 'New Delhi' is part of the Swedish 2000 you *must* know.
Lot of these are not "2000 must know". Like rare animals, very niche information. Seems like they have been picked partially at random, then just call it "for beginners" randomly
Excellent video. Only some words are mispronounced.. att rosta (to roast) is pronounced in the video like att rösta (to vote). "Black" (svart) is being pronounced as "difficult" (svårt). Generally a few å/ä/ö words have this issue with mispronounciation but otherwise this is an excellent help for A1 to B2 learners to revise their knowledge. But careful with misleading pronounciation for the new learners..!
Hej, I just started swedish language this weekend. I am terrified! I cried bcuz it seems impossible to me. I am trying to learn it, bcuz I want to go in Sweden for live and work. Idk yet if I will make it with this alien language, but my Love for Sweden is so much, hope it will help :P Adjo!
So stop crying and jumping around the language channels and start learning from scratch, how to read consonant-vowel combinations, e.g. rt, rd, st, stk, stj, etc .; How to pronounce it all, how to conjugate the verbs that are in the first group, the second group, etc., and what endings they have for the tenses you create. And then you will find out that it is a beautiful language. I wish you good luck and perseverance.
@@Ruudi78 Yes thank u, Im trying. I know is beautiful language, every language is beautiful in its own way. Im just saying its really difficult. Im not complaining.
@@MonikaMurphys Before you jump into cliches and simple sentences, knowing how to read and pronounce consonants and their combinations is an absolute must. The pronunciation of g, k, sk before the vowels e, i, y, ä, ö is specific to the Swedish language. Instead, they are normally read before a, o, u, å. In addition, there are consonant compounds st, stj, skj (sju, stjärna, skjorta), tj, kj (tjugo, kjol) dj, hj, gj, lj, lg (hjärta, ljus, djur, älg) as well as rd, rg, rs, rt (bord, svart, torsk, berg). Once you have mastered the technique of reading this and then pronouncing it, it will be much easier to learn later on. If you don't practice it, your progress will be much slower and learning will be frustrating.
Meanwhile in Australia no one speaks more than one language (English). How boring we are compared to Europeans who mostly are fluent in two or three languages.
This is amazing. Only where there are ä/å/ö etc sometimes when both words exist the pronunciation is swapped. It basically pronounced år (year) as är. I would guess something went wrong in their data.
Learning is a knowledge but sadly its hard to speak though due to the vowels that swedish has their own to be particular. My swedish husband descriminated me for not be able to speak even Ive studied swedish language online for 2 years before I came here in Sweden over 2 months ago even Im trying my best to speak instead it feels ashamed and lost my confidence completely. It pisses him off due to he has the hearing problem unfortunately which I understand fully but most of the time make me more sad and lost my self-esteem.
Write it down, the words, it's meaning in English, and tips for how to prounounce it. Get flash cards too. Your not supposed to watch it once and suddenly know ALL THE WORDS from heart
@@MonikaMurphys Английски, немски, френски, испански, италиански, чешки и словашки ги броя като един, полски, руски, белоруски и украински ги броя като един, унгарски, сръбски, словенски, холандски.
Макар че не може сериозно да се твърди, че като знаеш френски, испанският или италианският сериозно са те затруднили. Трудностите са в глаголите основно. Ако трябва да наемам преводач обаче, бих наел някой, който знае само един език, но много добре, вместо специалист по няколко.
Um, those are clearly native Swedish speakers. Some variation in accents, (like the girl who pronounces "u" halfway to "y"), but mostly very "middle Sweden". BTW, it's spelled "pronunciation"

Man sa löpning och inte springa
my grandparents use to speak swedish until i was 3 or 4, then said only speak english in america, i remember a little, when i hear, i feel happy
As a Swedish person, I’m learning new words from this ;-;
I find that it would be very helpful if the words were used in a sentance because many words have double meanings.
In the case clear nouns, the absence of the indefinite article "ett" / "en" makes it also next-to-impossible to have any idea about the definite / plural forms.
Pretty language...And easy to learn...Right moving to Sweden
Bra jobbat tack .
It's strange words to start learning Swedish.
Adding (ett) or (en) before each word would enable one to create sentences as you listen. Still, very helpful. Tack!
thank you it is a good pack , but it would be better if ett or en articles were written too
Tack jätte så mycket
Very useful, but would be better if you specified what type of word (verb, noun, adjective). Sometimes it's obvious but not always 😉
Thank you so much for the pdfs
Tack så mycket!
Swedish is a sweet sounding language- I think- I mean I think - everyone to his/her own...Everyone has his/her opinion
Wtf are you yapping about
Tack så mycket
what would i do if i didn't know how to say mexico city in sweden?! couldn't imagine!
It's for people who live there
the articles are missing, but Tack!

Existes it in French ?
Song=Sing....Its Sång with Å =P
You should group words together in topics. This randomness does not help. I was super keen but gave up after 12 minutes - lots of uncommon words.
tack tack!
hej hur mår du idag är ensam tjej
Högtalare is loudspeaker, not speaker (talare).
is protestanism for begginers????? :0
I heard fondue was invented in Sweden. Can anyone confirm this? C:

Name of the kitchen and household
sjorta=hutta. I see now what is the biggest problem with svensk prat. Pronunciation.
👍
This is the most useless list of words. Do I really need the words Protestantism and prune in the first few minutes?
It's a mixed bag. Some are useful, some are very niche.... weird list, and seems like it's composed lazily
Några är fel
I totally agree, and at this discovery I don't feel like continuing. It's messing up what I already know and also confusing me

The best way I found is to combine mnemonics and space repetition systems. I learned 12 languages thus far and this got me good coin.

This is just a huge jumble of unrelated words without any context. The brain doesn’t work this way. A waste of time.
It could be better, but I learned from it. Just that too many words are totally useless for a beginner
