This is the story of SCP 096 being weaponized by a small village's leader to help rid the burden of a local demon, SCP 001 The Prototype.

SCP 096 is a humanoid creature measuring approximately 2.38 meters in height. Subject shows very little muscle mass, with preliminary analysis of body mass suggesting mild malnutrition.
SCP096 is normally extremely docile, with pressure sensors inside its cell indicating it spends most of the day pacing by the eastern wall. However, when someone views SCP-096's face, whether it be directly, via video recording, or even a photograph, it will enter a stage of considerable emotional distress. SCP-096 will cover its face with its hands and begin screaming, crying, and babbling incoherently. Approximately one (1) to two (2) minutes after the first viewing, SCP-096 will begin running to the person who viewed its face.
SCP-001 is 6’5” tall, 97 lbs (average, varies by 5-10 lbs higher or lower), unknown age, grey-brown skin (may be bruising), eye color milky blue, no hair. Emaciated appearance, bone and muscle structure unlike any recorded species. Legs are long and thin, ending in sharp black points.
SCP001 has Three fingers on each hand, also ending in black points. Legs and arms are twice as long as torso. No reproductive organs, anal orifice, ears, nose, or pores anywhere on body. Head is spherical, very large in proportion to body, neck appears too thin to support head. Mouth extends halfway around head, no lips. Twenty-one teeth, spaced randomly around mouth; many appear broken, rotten, or chipped. “Eye” is a large, ball-shaped, milky-blue sphere presumably kept in the head or throat. Appears to “roll” into the mouth when mouth is open. Has no pupil or iris.

I like the thought of the Shy Guy being a guardian of this village for so long and actively living alone in a cave until he's needed. It's really sweet and poetic and pinpoints that he's not a bad anomaly, he's just shy.
The creature desires anonimity and peace. The cave gave it that. The old man did not disturb that. 001 did. 001 regreted that soon enough

Ancient-world people weren't stupid, just perhaps a bit too superstitious at times. There are some structures that even today we can't really explain how they built them with primitive tools. Or how the massive animal-carvings that would have required a bird's-eye view were made (Sorry, I don't remember what they are called or where they're at anymore. I read about them back in middle school while doing a research project and that was almost two decades ago).

The Shy Guy makes sense as a guardian to a village lead by a wise blind man. Only he can open eyes face him without triggering the boiling fury since Shy Guy can feel he's not being seen

I enjoy a vs video once in a while, but I hope Dr Bob doesn't turn into another SCP Explained , a scp channell which has stopped animating videos based off SCP articles, and is almost just vs videos now.

In this specific instance, yes. Now, for the times going forward he’d be horrifying because literally anyone around the world who sees his face through technology would be doomed. But in borderline medieval times he’s pretty much contained to a mountain.

Nice seeing SCP-096 as a menacing force after so many stories on other channels of "he just gets you" or him losing to whatever other SCP/opponent.
In a video of scp explained, they had the idea to use the shy guy to hunt the Yule Man (scp-4666)
The vengeful researcher who organised this operation tricked the Yule man into attacking him, and showed him a picture of 096 right before dying.
You can pretty much imagine how well 4666 fared against 96.
Those videos are proof that 096 is a very good weapon for the foundation if they play their cards right.

Imagine being referred to as a powerful unstoppable demon, dying the hands of the guardian of the town.
But then realizing a peanut looking shaped statue breaks the guardian's bones faster than a blink of the eye.
Even if the statue does break 096's bones, they still heal very quickly because of which 096 can never be killed. I don't believe in the story of simple acid being used to melt his bones if even 682 couldn't kill 096
@@FunniMillie Agreed, the acid story is stupid. And took way too long for the Foundation to try considering how often Acid is used in their other machinations, it seems it would be one of the first things they'd try and Shy Guy would not have existed for as long as he has. Even the Old Man's corrosive substance couldn't deal with Shy Guy's bones, and he was left embarrassed despite beating Shy Guy (similar to being left afraid of Peanut despite winning that fight).
I don't think his bone can be broken even so he will heal immediately
If we were to compare them, 001 Prototype is more of a hyper-scientific creature, while Shy Guy is more mystical in his abilities.
While a radiation-using super creature of unknown origin sure is a hell of a danger for pretty much anyone, something that doesn't just die, regrows that fast and always knows where you are, speeding towards you as fast as a train and incredibly strong... Well yeah, youre either the Hard to Destroy Reptile beating it until it stops to attack you or are something rather spiritual. Having a physical body and being able to die, while not overpowering it in every way, youre gonna have a bad time with Shy Guy.
Not just any train, but a bullet train. 200mph.
A question that has been bothering me for some time already, whose prototype is this 'demon'? A name like "prototype" suggests some kind of creator, builder, or architect of death and destruction putting together these mangled horrors.

One can only guess. Guess at everything, heck, Shy Guy is no better and the Mountain King Story is nice at first, but seems a bit stretched as a background for such creature. I mean, if he makes similar creatures under the same conditions, one would assume there were more special horrors created by him.
So, yeah, overall mystical, these backgrounds. But they are SCPs, so... Fiction and speculation.

I was trying to figure out how the elder would get 096 into the village, then I realized it: He's *BLIND*. He can't see 096 at *all*! It's nice that he's considered a Guardian Spirit too. Just don't look at him, and get protection from evil.

The shy guy is a fascinating scp and one of my favorites. It’s complex. Not evil but not good per say. It does bad things but it doesn’t want to. In this situation it shows it can be used to protect people. It’s self conscious is it’s true enemy and it battles with itself constantly.

And it is delicious entertainment to see karma finally rear It's head.

Nah I loved this , this is amazing and the fact that the elder was aware of what will happen if you looked at shyguy , he'd kill/attack ya which leaves you to the fact that it happened before and somehow they contained him at a specific place so shyguy doesn't get spotted by teens or anyone of their village

Holy shit that was AWESOME. The fight itself; fine yeah pretty cool. It that build up. That narrative lead up was seriously TOP tier writing. That moment when the *blind* elder is going to find the “guardian spirit” and you realize it’s 096 is just amazing.
The only thing this story is missing is a proper narrative set up and pay off. While the elder being blind somewhat accomplishes that the story really could have used something else. Say, a story about how if you ever meet a God do not look them in the eye. You could have then had a village child thank the guardian with her eyes closed after it was all saud and done.
It looks like this is OC too which, if that’s the case, amazing.

Just now finished watching this and man I got to say that this video was honestly pretty entertaining to watch for sure and the storytelling was nice as well.
I personally liked this SCP versus vid. I, too, felt like 096 would be an excellent being to combat 001. 001 just doesn't have any way to actually destroy 096 to where it's truly dead.

096 is easily one of my favorite characters. He is innocent and only wants to be left alone but what ever it is that causes him to rage takes over despite his protests. It make hating him hard and it feels morally wrong.

I absolutely adore the story and fight itself, but I can't help but feel troubled with the Shy Guy being in this time period. In your other video about SCP 096's origin, he was a confident climber attempting to overcome Mount Everest. But he came face to face with the King of the mountain and was forced to climb for a lifetime, turning him into a monster that is deeply angered and frightened when eyes are laid on him.
But the thing with scps is that what you believe is canon bc anyone can make one so trying to keep everything canon will be a nightmare

Well I think that The King of the Mountain himself is weaker than the shy guy.
Remember that it's more like something that instantly causes hypothermia by staring at it.
And it created the shy guy by torturing someone who wouldn't accept to die from the hypothermia... Which he lost his sanity, his sentience, and he was probably suffering so much that if you look at it, it will get the feeling that the King of the Mountain is looking at it, and yeah... You know what happens next... Mutilated until nothing remains.

Why do people hate Scp versus vids? I actually think its cool when two scps interact and how they would react to each other.
A blind person can't see 096's face, but what would happen if they learned it's visage by touch? On that same note, what if you put your hand on 173 and kept it there if the lights went out. You couldn't see it, but your attention was still directed towards it.
Now these are the important questions..but also damn you for making me think about it because I’ll never have an answer lol
096 would probably attack the blind person, regardless. Someone feeling its face up doesn’t seem like something it would just let happen. Now if the blind person were given an accurate replica like a bust, 096 wouldn’t care because it’s still not the same because the person did not see them through their eyes. It attacks people who saw its face, not people who were given an approximate of what it looked like.
The peanut works on sight, the moment the lights go out, you’d be dead before even feeling it leave your hand.
But since this is SCP, someone might’ve already written something where both your and my ideas were fact on separate accounts.
Imagine the most ultimate weapon in SCP world: an SCP 173 with a photo of SCP 96 on him.

Love the video, but I have one question:
Wouldn’t 096 attack the elder due to him tying a rope around his neck? 096 also attacks when attacked, so I don’t know if that qualifies as an attack.
He wasn’t being attacked. The elder was simply guiding him and as long as he wasn’t too rough in tugging the rope, he wouldn’t feel attacked.
The MTF escorting him are arguably rougher since they literally put a bag over his head and just push him to wherever.
If the elder was pulling at the rope to cause harm, yes. But as per the video it looks more like he just put a loose rope on him like a leash.
