Hearing the fact Kanye's mom was in the pilot shortly before she died probably is another reason why the 30 minute cut has been made public. Kanye went downhill after his mom passed away
It could have been worded better, but when it said his mom was in it, it was that an actress was playing his mom as a character within the show. Its the same actress who played the mom in 'Sister Sister'. amongst many other roles.
Seth McFarlane was probably given such a low budget for the pilot because a lot of the time desicions are made based on who can do the job with the least amount of money.

Another lost pilot is Gibby! a spinoff of iCarly. Either Noah Munck or Dan Schneider confirmed that they were filming the pilot of the show, but nothing ever came of it.
Another dark layer to Frogmen is that Nicole Brown had really bad ranidaphobia, and before going out to film OJ mocked her for it in front of her friends (something along the lines of 'isnt it so funny that my wife is afraid of frogs and now im the frogman'). This ended up being the final straw that helped make up her mind to try and finally leave him for good. If you look up Faye Resnick's deposition she goes into detail about it. Sorry if this is a weird thing to bring up, its just always stuck out to me for how pathetically childish and cruel it is.
There is one unreleased pilot that always stuck out to me, it’s called Pudding Toast and it was by the creator of We bare bears. He mentioned in a tweet it went through development hell at Nickelodeon so it never got released.

The 1991-1999 ABC sitcom "Home Improvement" also had a pilot episode that was taped, but never shown. In the sitcoms original pilot episode, dramatic actress Frances Fisher played the part of Jill Taylor, but by the time the show was picked up for series by ABC, the role was recast with Patricia Richardson playing the part.
I remember receiving this pitch pilot in the mail as a kid. It was for some kinda survey, but I don’t think the show got picked up. I think it was called “Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!” but I’m not too sure. Edit: it was apparently a TV movie of some kind.

Minor correction: The lost Simpsons pilot was not remade as Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire. It was the first season finale Some Enchanted Evening, which is episode 1 if you look at the production codes. It was intended to be the first episode, but got delayed till the end due to all the animation being redone. Also it's Wyatt Seh-nac, not See-nac
There is an unreleased pilot that I'd want to see, and that is The Impractical Jokers' TruTV pilot pitch, "Mission Uncomfortable" They have a whole five minutes of the entire pilot in their possessions and they've even confirmed it's existence in their Impractical Jokers Live stand-up. The video that's here on UA-cam, is a 30 second clip of the intro of Mission Uncomfortable.
There are a surprisingly high number of pilots for Thomas, all lost: The live BBC adaptation of The Sad Story Of Henry, known for an engine derailing and needing to be picked up by a human hand A 2D animation made by Andrew Lloyd Webber The pilot for the original series, adapting Down The Mine and even had some of it's footage used in the final version of the episode And an early version of the upcoming All Engines Go! version of the series.

If you do a part 2 to this I have a suggestion. The unaired pilot for the Nickelodeon show Big Time Rush. This one isn't on the lost media wiki but there are a few clips of it up on UA-cam. There are a few differences between the original pilot and the final show. (A couple examples are the boys being skaters from Wisconsin and the entire Knight family being played by completely different actors.) I really hope it gets found and is uploaded on to UA-cam.

@@Zarugoza5969 That would be impossible for Saint Seiya (aka Knights of the Zodiac) since you would need to convince the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission to release the dub (since they own it now). And after that you would need to get permission from both Toei Animations and Netflix (since they currently hold dubbing and distribution rights) And to top it all off the dub contains "I Ran" covered by Bowling for Soup as it's opening theme song which would require both permission from Flock of Seagulls and Bowling for Soup's copyright holders.

Just wanna throw this into the ring: In 1986, one Haim Saban created a pilot to pitch an Americanized adaptation of the long running Japanese superhero TV franchise _Super Sentai,_ with this pilot titled _Bio-Man._ Since it was the mid-80s, no American TV execs wanted to import anything from Japan but Saban simply refused to give up, pitching the series with the _Bio-Man_ pilot for 7 years before being given a chance from the head of Fox Kids, who gave him small bits of advice to update the concept. This advice would lead to a new pilot titled “Galaxy Rangers,” which would be picked up and adapted into the series premiere of _Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers._ However, despite the massive success of the ensuing _Power Rangers_ franchise, and the eventual airing of the Galaxy Rangers pilot during a special titled “Power Rangers: The Lost Episode,” the original Bio-Man pilot has since been lost outside of a few stills and promotional materials, which I think is a shame since there’s actually a lot from the Bio-Man pilot that survived all the way into the final series (ie. Most of the main cast sharing names, even the robot assistant Alpha-5).

Did you listen? Some Enchanted Evening was going to be the first episode but it was awful animation-wise. So they switched the order and redid SEE and made Simpsons Roasting Over an Open Fire the first episode.

The story of the radio show loveline with Adam Carolla and Dr Drew and the efforts of Giovanni to preserve and convert old tapes is a pretty amazing one. I don't know of an easy way to get all the info about it, but I do know there are still many missing episodes from Adam's era.
My favorite part about the Frogmen story is that the police, in the middle of a double murder investigation, decided that "Yeah, we got two hours to kill, not like there's anything important going on." Like, I can understand being curious, but you have a job to do!

So there are actually two lost pilots for Power Rangers… kind of. In the early 80s, Stan Lee wanted to bring over Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan to the United States and he and TV executive Margaret Loesch pitched a pilot that was an English dub to networks that was turned down and didn’t go anywhere. A few years later, Haim Saban was in Japan on a business trip when he saw Choudenshi Bioman on TV and thought it would be perfect to bring to the US. He got the license from Toei and made a pilot that featured American actors (including Mark Dacascos and Carrie Fisher’s half sister Tricia) interspersed with Sentai footage. He pitched this for years until he had a meeting with Margaret Loesch who remembered Sun Vulcan and immediately ordered MMPR, though they decided to update the footage. The original MMPR pilot was aired on TV as a “lost” episode, but the English Sun Vulcan pilot has never been seen and only clips of the English Bioman Pilot have been seen on that lost episode and The Toys That Made Us.

I once researched a pilot of an Americanized version of a British miniseries from 2000 called "Metropolis" (not to be confused with other types of media with the same name) that is pitched to ABC, but never aired. I couldn't find any footage, but I once found a script of the pilot. This attempt includes Michael E. Rodgers (Mr. Conductor Jr in "Thomas and the Magic Railroad") as Nathan's US counterpart named "Nate". There was also another attempt of an American adaption of "Metropolis", this time it was for The CW. Just like the 2001 ABC attempt, only a pilot was filmed, but the idea never came to frution.
Full pilot episodes used to be filmed for proposed series that were never picked up by the networks. There even used to be a television series called "Busted Pilots" which showed the orphan shows.

Down the Mine from Thomas and friends should be in the next episode. It was filmed, but it was never released, say for a scene in the episode and a couple of photos of the Gordon modern used in the pilot.
Not a pilot exactly but there's this anime called Osomatsu-san (I've seen it as Mr. Osomatsu in English) that had its first episode erased from existence because in that episode they parodied a lot of other animes and other things without permission, and since apparently Japan doesn't have fair use laws they just never released that episode in home media or anything

He got the license from Toei and made a pilot that featured American actors (including Mark Dacascos and Carrie Fisher’s half sister Tricia) interspersed with Sentai footage. He pitched this for years until he had a meeting with Margaret Loesch who remembered Sun Vulcan and immediately ordered MMPR, though they decided to update the footage.
The original MMPR pilot was aired on TV as a “lost” episode, but the English Sun Vulcan pilot has never been seen and only clips of the English Bioman Pilot have been seen on that lost episode and The Toys That Made Us.

I once researched a pilot of an Americanized version of a British miniseries from 2000 called "Metropolis" (not to be confused with other types of media with the same name) that is pitched to ABC, but never aired. I couldn't find any footage, but I once found a script of the pilot. This attempt includes Michael E. Rodgers (Mr. Conductor Jr in "Thomas and the Magic Railroad") as Nathan's US counterpart named "Nate".
There was also another attempt of an American adaption of "Metropolis", this time it was for The CW. Just like the 2001 ABC attempt, only a pilot was filmed, but the idea never came to frution.

Full pilot episodes used to be filmed for proposed series that were never picked up by the networks. There even used to be a television series called "Busted Pilots" which showed the orphan shows.

15:44 a bit of an error. The pilot footage was reworked into episode 13 titled "Some Enchanted Evening." "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire" is actually the first episode that aired, the Christmas special. Not sure where you got episode 8 from.
Down the Mine from Thomas and friends should be in the next episode. It was filmed, but it was never released, say for a scene in the episode and a couple of photos of the Gordon modern used in the pilot.

Not a pilot exactly but there's this anime called Osomatsu-san (I've seen it as Mr. Osomatsu in English) that had its first episode erased from existence because in that episode they parodied a lot of other animes and other things without permission, and since apparently Japan doesn't have fair use laws they just never released that episode in home media or anything
