The thing about Sailor's Mouth is that both stories are true. In the full comic-con answer, Tom Kenny explains that the writers told everyone to fake swear but later they all found it difficult to organically deliver some of their lines this way. The voice actors later suggested they could swear for real and have it just be bleeped out in editing which ended up being approved. Kenny also humorously mentions that Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs' VA) was very eager about the suggestion.
Another piece of lost media that ended up not existing: "The Evil Farming Game" A redditor had remembered playing a Harvest Moon like game where you kill you're wife and have to hide the body among the plants, keeping it away from the police. After roughly 5 years of searching, it was found that OP actually fell asleep during a Vinesauce Joel stream, where Joel makes a joke about that idea of the game, and had generated false memories from the game based of that
Wait what? I didn't know the end I know the Evil Farming Game thing, there's also Two other posts saying that they have played the Evil Farming Game, but it's on PC,but it's likely Moira
I think in the commentary, Tom Kenny didn't want to say he swore because younger audiences would be watching it, so he tidied it down. And then in ComicCon, he confessed that they did actually swear in front of the older audiences.
I'm pretty sure it is kind of both, I saw somewhere that they told them to make fake cuss words and they tried that but gave up after a while and just started actually cussing. So afaik it's all true.
The thing is, I feel like it doesn't make sense for the actual episode. What words would they actually be saying. For example, the first instance in the episode "Krabs is a -" the sound effect goes on way too long, as if it was intended purely to clearly convey he was talking over the dolphin noise and imply that it was a censorship bleep.
@@AnarchoCatBoyEthan You're correct. They were instructed to fake swear but they weren't getting the right feeling. Tom asked if they could actually swear since they were just going to cut it out anyway. There was very, very slight hesitation... and then agreement because the takes were getting exhausting. Tom admits the cut exists but it likely has the cuts made since they needed the cuts made. Nickelodeon may actually have the original cut but the cast highly doubts it... so Tom jokes about it.
@@kyliethelittlespider-mangirl94 It was a short movie released in 02, only shown at film festivals. Til it was found and uploaded in 2011. You can watch the whole thing on the lost media wiki page, but be warned it's got that classic 00's humor.
On one hand, the Spongebob cast actually swearing would ensure that the sound team didn't accidentally leave in a word meant to be censored. But on the other, having the cast make up fake swear words would fit Spongebob's style of humour perfectly.
The answer is both. At the begining they had to make up fake sweatings. But it was too hard for them so they asked if they could just use real ones and bleep them out later.
Concerning the undubbed Pokemon: it's bad enough when an episode isn't isn't dubbed. It's much worse when said episode going undubbed results in plot holes.
With pokemon now on Netflix, I wish they could get the entire series subbed and put warnings in front of the "banned" episodes. This method has worked in the past, and the rest of the world can finally see the series in its entirety.
Here's my theory about Sailor Mouth: In that comic con Q&A, he states that they originally used fake curse words that were intended to be beeped out. However, he stated that he had a difficult time with using the fake words and they just decided to have the actors swear. Tom Kenny probably couldn't confirm it in an official Nickelodeon DVD release
I say that both about what was said during comic con and the book can be a possibility. I mean, I think the book was officially licensed by Nick, so he must've been told to say it or it was true. I mean he supposedly still swore either using real cuss words or not.
This is what happened. At a more recent con, Clancy Brown backed this up and fake swearing did not go over so well with the cast. Thing is, I don't think it was just Clancy. I think things were okay at first and then eventually they ran out of steam. That's usually what happens. You shouldn't be surprised with this. Fake swearing doesn't always work when you're trying to get that feeling of shock and horror that you said a terrible word. It takes a lot of work and suspension of belief. For characters like Spongebob and Patrick, not too difficult. For the entire rest of the cast... Yeah that doesn't pack the same punch. None the less... Sometimes it's better to just use the actual swear to get the correct reaction from the other voice. Even if they are recording separately. It just helps the audience feel the authenticity. It's a little mind game we play, even if we know a word will be censored.
I also think they used swear words in the episode. If you pay close attention to the blips the Initial and Final consonants and vowels, they are much too clean for fake swear words. Its very subtle, but pay attention to the bleeped out words.
@@jamie1602 It's hilarious to me that Clancy Brown was the one who couldn't avoid swearing. It fits both the character of Mr. Krabs and Clancy's persona as a live-action actor perfectly.
I wanna see "Lost Media found in plain sight", where huge search efforts were made looking for something that was easily available for years. Not like Clockman, where it was always on UA-cam and people just didn't know what they were looking for. I mean, someone describes the thing, and it eventually turns out to be a part or a small section from a popular game/movie, I feel like this has to have happened at least once.
I mean clockman is a perfect example of what you described in your first sentence lol. This made me think of Whang has a video called the tape world monster about a video store promotional cardboard standee nobody knew what it was from that ended up just being a random character’s toy in a spy kids movie.
@@Pataganja Its even more funny because people kept suggesting spy kids but the people looking for it kept telling people that it was ruled out. Lo and behold Spy Kids was it.
Jodi Benson isn't just the singing voice of Ariel. She was chosen because Disney wanted the same actress to do Ariel's singing and speech, since the singing was so important in the original fairy tale.
if i remember correctly, kenny said that the used fake cuss words at first but because it didnt work out (dude said he was on the floor laughing) they switched to real cuss words, so i think the 2 stories match up
That's what I was thinking. I think it being "too real" could mean that it either was super bigoted towards autistic people, or it highlighted how awful people are to autistic people and that was too real for a goofy show.
One thing I really like about your videos is that you are one of those youtubers that make lost media fun to explore and you don't often spend too long playing up disturbing or graphic content and you don't often play audio from the subjects which can help keep that level of separation. I respect blameitonjorge's contributions to the scene but I stay as far away from his content as possible due to some of the content and especially thumbnails.
Thank you so much, this really means a lot. I worked hard to create my own identity in my videos because I'm a big Jorge fan and took so much inspiration from his content.
Special Ed most likely is a play on special education, so the episode probably centered around Ed being put into special education and Eddy trying to make money out of exploiting him Which most likely is why it never got past the concept phase
Or Eddy finding out that Ed doesn't have homework or something so he tries to fake his way into the class. Honestly, it may have only gone as far as "Hey this could be a name for an episode" "......no"
The generally accepted theory about special ed was that it dealt with disabilities in some way. The staff probably felt uncomfortable putting subject matter like that in a children's comedy show, so it was likely scrapped early on.
5:13 It’s apparently both According to Kenny, they originally used fake swears during recording, but since the cast apparently couldn’t get it right, only then were they allowed to swear for real
Ed Mann is the name of an OC fic character by a person who writes their own game show fics. This person runs a lot of Carmen themed sites. One of the fic writers in named "Jonathan Mann". Go down that rabbit hole if you feel like it. That is a really deep dive. With lots of crossovers; Chipmunks, Pokemon, Tiny Toons, and others. Even in an old interview with Greg Lee he claimed the episode existed.
The undubbed Doraemon episode was aired here in Spain multiple times over the years, so there's at least a spanish dub for it. I've seen it 2 or 3 times
Another thing about The Ledgend of Dratini, some clips from it were ironically used in the Poke Rap music video despite the episode not officially being avaliable in the US.
@@alphagiga4878 simple: humans have shitty, unreliable memories. It doesn't take much to convince someone remember something that either never happened to them, or never happened in the first place.
The Tauros thing always bugged the shit out of me. Especially being a kid watching the series as it was coming out on Cartoon Network and Professor Oak mentioned Ash had all of those Tauros.
That Dexter's Lab episode wasn't actually released fully uncensored, I remember at least the F-bombs were still bleeped out. The uncensored version floating around was made from other dialogue being edited and you can usually tell if you are trying too.
@@cherishporter5314 I mean yeah but that’s true since Autism (and adhd as well if you want to count that as well) are learning disabilities however I think what they meant was mental illness and learning disabilities in general and not meant saying autism is a mental illness which it isn’t if you know what I mean
@@cherishporter5314 it isn't really a learning disorder, I guess you could say some have issues with it. Autism is definitely legally considered a mental illness although in my opinion it's just a state of being.
I got one: there's a rumored lost episode of the Angry Beavers called "Cuffed Together" in which Norbert & Daggett are arrested (either for destroying a wooden statue or Abe Lincoln's log cabin or something). As the title suggests, they eventually escape handcuffed together. No one involved with the show remembers it, not even the creator. Eventually, it was discovered that it was never an episode, but a fan fiction from 2001! I think LSupersonicQ has a video on it.
Yes and No. Yes, there was a fanfiction. However, there was a trivia bit from The Splat (a Nickelodeon blog) that claimed Coffed Together was a pilot. Of course, just because it comes from Nickelodeon doesn't mean it's true. Whoever wrote that could've just looked it up online and gotten in wrong. But still, it's interesting.
Surprised that you didn't mention about the infamous rumor about the supposed lost scene from the Spongebob Episode, "I Was A Teenage Gary" that showed Squidward's Transformation into a Snail that was supposedly shown in the original airing and in Polish Airings, although this would eventually be debunked as both versions didn't feature the scene.
@@sowyuge What op doesn't mention is that squidward infact does become a snail but there is no transformation sequence just a jump cut to him as a snail on the fence. But the phenomenon happening is that due to their not being any transformation your brain tries to fill in a blank that's not there.
@@theopendoorev Long story short: Somebody fell asleep meanwhile watching an stream of Vinesauce and dreamed a version of Harvest Moon were they had killed their wife and had to hide the body from the police thanks to a joke Joel said, later sparking a 5 years long search for an inexistent game.

@@goalhorncrazy9779 In my opinion, they should all be considered interesting. How about a partially found hatsune miku song called paradise gate? There seems to be no evidence on the entire internet of this song's existence beyond wotaken 2 and people who heard what we have.
When it comes to the sailor mouth, both statements are true. In the comic con interview he says that it was difficult to come up with fake swearwords and then he asked the guys in the booth if they could try actually swearing.
Journey Into Imagination opened in early 1983, it wasn't ready for the park when it opened in October of 1982, but the Imagination Pavilion, where it's located, was open on day 1 with the film Magic Journeys. That may be what leads to the confusion.
I don’t know if this is considered lost media, but there was a cold open of “The Office” that only aired once. It was a Halloween episode, and Michael Scott pretended to hang himself. It was removed from later broadcasts and was not on the dvd or Netflix streaming services (dunno about peacock). Maybe you could do a video about sitcoms that were edited in later viewings?
@g thank you! I saw the video a long time ago uploaded to one website, but that was deleted eventually and I couldn’t find it when I wanted to show someone else.
Oh I had the ham ham house! It came with hamtaro and bijou. It was so cute with the stickers so you could decorate it yourself and everything. I was 17 and made my best friend buy it for me from a blockbuster video lmao. I was like you have never buyed me a thing like this you have to! I had it proudly on my computer desk for years. Eventually my daughter got of appropriate age to both love hamtaro and want to play with the house, I reluctantly coughed it up but had panic attacks everytime she did something 'dangerous' to it lmao 😂 she's 16 now and she still has it. Long lasting ham ham house 10/10 would make my friend buy again 🙃 🧡🦇
I'm inclined to believe that they really did swear in the Spongebob sessions, and maybe Tom Kenny walked it back later. They did that on the Simpsons several times, and according to the commentaries, it's easier to do that than to use soundalike words, it comes across better after they bleep it.
One you didn’t mention (at least with any detail) is Saki Sanobashi, also known as go for a punch, which is a fake “lost” anime which features anywhere from three to nine high school girls trapped in a bathroom with no doors or windows, who eventually all commit suicide in a gruesome manner. It honestly saddens me that go for a punch is fake, I’ve always been a fan of dark shows and games and seeing an anime this straightforward and gruesome would have been very interesting to see. Someday I hope someone actually makes it a thing, because it’s a missed opportunity if they don’t.
There's another one. I'm a big Resident Evil fan and always was very active in RE fan groups (mostly on Russian VK), so there was always rumor in them that Capcom announced but never released a Pokemon Snap-styled game, Resident Evil Snap, for Nintendo 64. The only "evidence" of it's existence was some most likely edited Pokemon Snap screenshots with Resident Evil monsters, and some web-pages even had it's premise: " Titled Resident Evil Snap, the new game casts players as rookie S.T.A.R.S. photographer Stanley Christensen. Assigned with the dangerous task of cataloging Raccoon City's undead population, Stanley cruises the city on his motorcycle and snaps pictures of the zombies in their (un)natural habitat. Six different regions of the city can be toured: the Streets, the Umbrella Mansion, the Police Station, the Sewers, the Train, and a dangerous Volcano on the outskirts of town. You're also equipped with a few tools besides your camera. Lobbing Pester Grenades into the shadows can drive hidden zombies out of hiding, while dropping some appetizing Human Brains will lure them closer to the camera for a better shot. Of course, bigger shots make for higher points when it comes time for Professor Oak to total up your score. A total of 63 varieties of undead monsters and other G Virus-mutated creatures can be found -- including Nemesis, in his own special secret course!" Everyone actively discussed this "game" even back in the beginning of 2010s but I never seen any evidence of it's existence to this day. Anyway, sounds very crazy but who knows the origin of all this story?
14:13 correction while i was rewatching this video! while disney had princesses who had separate singing and speaking voice actors in that era (lea salonga as jasmine and mulan for example), jodi benson was actually ariel’s only voice actor. she also provided the voice for vanessa (ursula’s evil alter ego)!
The Hamtaro mistake is hilarious. Reminds me of the Sharp 19SV111 tv with a Nintendo built in. Someone mis-typed a 19SC111 in an old website years ago and that became the truth that there was that model. 15 years later the Nintendo community finally figured out for sure it was a typo, and those keys are next to eachother on a QWERTY keyboard.
It couldn’t be THAT hard to censor the Dratini episode. They could’ve just edited the Warden and Team Rockets guns into either super soakers or that hammer gun thing they gave Helmeppo in their One Piece dub.
This was before digital animation was used (the show was hand-drawn on cels) and 4Kids didn't use digital paint for much more than erasing Japanese text at the time. Plus Pokémon was the first anime 4Kids ever dubbed and they were still a small studio then, so it would have been expensive for them (remember how Beauty and the Beach wasn't dubbed until years later?) Even if they could edit out the guns, they're too big to cover with fingers without it looking terrible, and the guns are actually fired at some points so it'd be a huge mess We have readily-available fansubs that are almost certainly better than how 4Kids would've handled the episode so I don't really see the big deal honestly
That sounds like the kind of censorship that everyone hates. Even people like me, who prefers the censored version of TV and movies, would roll our eyes and just stop watching.
In the sailors mouth episode they were actually swearing. The German UA-camr Jay&Arya did research and found an interview with one of the voice actors. At the beginning they must use fake swears. But it was too hard for them to come up with it so they asked if they could use real swears and bleep them out later. They also found a clip on Reddit which is stated to be the real version but jay&arya said that it's probably a fan edit. Edit: Sorry. There are way too many comments saying almost the same
If I'm remembering correctly, regarding "Legend of Dratini"; the scene at the very beginning depicting Ash and the others walking up the the Safari Zone entrance (just before the Warden appears) was shown in Japanese for KidsWB's international languages week in the US as a means of introducing the segment. Each day would show some type of media from different language versions of the franchise. One was Meowth's Party (shown in Japanese on one day while shown in English the next). More an interesting tidbit than anything else.
My theory on special ed was that double d performs IQ tests on Ed and Eddy which they think is totally lame and boring but afterwards double D comes to the conclusion that in all technicality.. Ed is considered special. Double D then informs Eddy of this and they decided to start treating Ed kind of differently because he is special. Maybe even getting the other kids in on it. However as we have seen Ed isn't really that stupid he has emotional intelligence and plenty of intuition and he quickly gets very upset that people are treating him differently, which probably ends in a climactic scene with Ed calling them all out. Too real indeed.
Part of me really wants to believe the uncensored Sailor Mouth exists because that would be SO funny, so I’m not convinced it doesn’t exist yet. I’m hoping Bill or Clancy get asked about it sometime, I doubt Clancy Brown would shy away from saying he swore as Mr. Krabs lmao
I'm sure, at the very least, there's enough lost Spongebob voice acting bloopers where they screw up their lines and swear about it that totally exist.
I know of a piece of lost media called "Sneeze Pee." It was a skit that I had seen on either ebaums or newgrounds (can't remember which) sometime between 2006 and 2008. The skit was a guy needed to pee when he woke up but also had to sneeze and didn't want to do it when he peed or it would hurt. So he frantically tries to make himself sneeze and even calls a friend to help him out. He finally sneezes, starts to pee in the toilet, and then sneezes again, ending in a scream. I've tried forever to find that video and every time I ask around for it, people send me "sneeze when I pee." Which is more of a spoken poem than a skit and not at all what I'm looking for and everything on yt related to "sneeze pee" isn't either.
I think I can explain where the Pokemon dub rumor came from. Beauty and the Beach was mostly dubbed except for that *one* part. That only happened because they thought that they could pad out the run time with the Pokemon rap (like they'd usually do if they had to cut something out) but they couldn't. (I suspect that's why Pikachu's Jukebox was created- to have longer songs, just in case.) So people probably thought that they tried dubbing The Legend Of Dratini too, but they'd have to cut multiple scenes and I think they knew from the start that it'd be too much. It's not just the guns, but Meowth's Hitler mustache that he had for some reason.
Pikachu's Jukebox was created long before the Beauty and the Beach dub aired (the Jukebox started a bit after Kids' WB picked up the show in early 1999 while the Beach dub aired in the summer of 2000, over a year later) Also Meowth's mustache is supposed to resemble that of an old detective - he and James do a Good Cop, Bad Cop routine with the safari warden in which Meowth plays the older Good Cop, a staple of cop shows at the time. If it was really a major issue it would've been *much* easier to paint over the mustache than a bunch of large, constantly-moving guns.
I'd love if you covered lost music and did the soundtrack to Rock and Rule. Which , despite having huge names like iggy pop, was completely destroyed and another copy was never made
I would theorize that Bikini Bottom residents consider dolphin noises as irritating, therefore they outright told people to never make any dolphin noises. That's why Krabs warned SpongeBob, & Patrick in that episode.
Couldn't both be true? They start with real ones but then are told to start inventing their own swear words. Nonetheless, hearing either version would still be pretty interesting, to say the least.
They are both true. In a more recent convention with the entire cast we got the full story. Make up swears to keep it kid friendly. It worked for a little bit of time. And then it didn't. Some of the cast didn't have it work and it ended up with giggles and wrecking lines. So they asked if they could just use real ones. There wasn't too much opposition. There were covering it up anyway so no point. Tom teases there's an R-rated cut but it's likely there isn't a real cut. They likely already removed or censored the words. It's highly unlikely the raw recording exists. It's not really that deep or "lost media" worthy. It's just adjustments actors make to help their lines run a little easier and this was particularly silly.
Oh hi there!! Another banger guys! Keep on keeping up the great work!! (Can I recommend top 10 lost documents?! - could do a bunch of sub-genres too - lost military documents - lost scripts... etc. 🍻)
Just so you know, for the conflicting sources thing for Epcot: Epcot Center (the park itself) opened in 1982. Journey into imagination didn’t open until 1983, not meeting the deadline for the park’s opening day.
What I heard about Sailor's Mouth was that they TRIED using made up swears at first but it kept making them laugh too much to get the lines out (which matches up to the 2009 account) so they were permitted to actually swear and have it censored.
In the Pokémon Episode, it’s funny how it didn’t make it past the US sensors because of the revolvers even though firearms are 100x more prevalent in the US than Japan.
In an appearance at LA Comic Con, Rodger Bumpass was with Tom Kenny and he backed up the claim that they really swore. At the very least, Clancy Brown did. They went into more detail, saying that after hearing Brown's fake swearing, Hillenburg went 'screw it, swear for real'.
If you want some real lost media that nobody knows exists, I've got a story. It's about Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego. So back in the early (or maybe mid) 90s, at the end of the gameshow on PBS there was a little thing about answering a geography question and sending in a postcard for a chance to be on a Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego special. So being somewhere around 11 years old at the time, I naturally filled in a postcard and sent it off. Little did I know, I was about to win and be on that special. To my knowledge, the entire special did not air. I do remember they used short 2-3 second clips from it in advertising, but this could have all been my local PBS affiliate and not a nationwide thing. The special was held at a local event center in the major US city I was living in at the time. Greg was there in person and hosted the event. I shook his hand and he would come up behind us as we wrote down our answers, sometimes putting his hands on our shoulders as encouragement. It was the real Greg. The Chief was not there in person, but Lynn Thigpen did some custom video clips for the event that played on a giant screen on the side of the stage and Greg acted as if he was talking to her for real. The event broke the format of the TV show somewhat and didn't have that final map game for the winner. But I can tell you it was a blast. I have the VHS of the event that one of the other contestant's mom's recorded of it since my parents didn't have a camcorder (this was the early 90s after all). My parents somehow convinced this woman to make a copy of the VHS and send it to them. So I've got this VHS. Or rather, my parents do. I've yet to digitize it, but in recent years the existence of that tape has resurfaced in my mind and it's been on my to do list ever since. To this day, I cannot find a single shred of information about this event online anywhere. Once I do get it digitized, I'll see if the folks on the Lost Media Wiki consider an untelevised special event recorded by someone in the crowd with a handheld camcorder as lost media. But I do know that the event was recorded professionally by the local PBS affiliate because those little clips made it onto TV as advertisement for the actual show for a short while.
From what I remember hearing forever ago both statements by Tom Kenny are true. They were supposed to use fake curse words in the recording however eventually gave up and just started using real ones. I'm not sure how accurate this is though
The Safari Zone episode does exist and was aired in Australia. I remembered when I was going onto UA-cam in 2008. There was a Titanic video which may've featured some Hamtaro-like toys. But it was such a long time ago I think the video no longer exists. The person who made the video had filmed it in his or her bathtub acting as a boiler room while using audio from the 1979 TV movie SOS Titanic.
There is a movie i watched as a kid when i was in the ages betweet 4 - 8 yo. I don't know if you've ever covered it but my favorite piece of lost media and one that is almost certainly non-existent is the original NES nightmare on elm Street where you play as Freddy. Several screenshots of the game were printed in posters and magazines but Justin Whang put out a couple of videos on it and in the second video he pointed out that these were probably made in a graphics editor as mock-ups to show what the game would look like; and that's not the first time that that's ever happened but it's still sucks that it doesn't exist in a true form. Unless, of course, some former Rare employee just happens to leak a dumped eprom... On the flip side I do know there was also a possible prototype of the existing game with slightly different graphics because screenshots of that exist but again those could just be mock-ups... Even though they're pretty accurate to what actually came out.... Again guys who worked at rare at the time: dump your eproms damnit!
Way back in 1990, when I was eight years old, I was lucky enough to go to Disney world. So much has changed since then! Thankfully, my father documented over six hours of footage from a 10 day long vacation, and one thing I fondly remember is the original journey into imagination ride. Watching your video footage of the dream finder holding the figment puppet from the cancelled tv show, looked an awful lot like what they had going on in the park at that time. I remember in front of the journey ride, was a man dresses as dream finder holding a figment puppet and he would go around and interact with the kids (for me, figment took my hat off my head and wouldn't give it back until I pet him) perhaps when the show fell through, the puppet and costumes were repurposed for this?
yeah for that pokemon one....i watched it here in canada when i was a kid, im 34 now, i fully remember watching it with my friend too and were shocked about the guns.

Someone should try asking him next time he's at a con.
Aw I love Tom Kenny
Another interesting topic would be lost media that was found before the wiki/lost media boom. Like the Beatles parody A Hard Day's Day.

@Ryanit Thru the Moebius Strip?
On one hand, the Spongebob cast actually swearing would ensure that the sound team didn't accidentally leave in a word meant to be censored. But on the other, having the cast make up fake swear words would fit Spongebob's style of humour perfectly.
Aren’t there videos of the cast of spongebob swearing on UA-cam? I’d argue Nickelodeon didn’t want Tom Kenny revealing the voice actors swearing

Here's my theory about Sailor Mouth:
In that comic con Q&A, he states that they originally used fake curse words that were intended to be beeped out.
He said it was Clancy Brown who had a hard time using fake curse words and started doing it for real.

The title “Special Ed” makes me think it could’ve involved, well, references to “special education” and the stigma around it/being part of it.

I always assumed it was just Danny fuckin' around with the audience. the title "Special Ed" is just so on-the-nose that it had to be a joke.
That's what I was thinking. I think it being "too real" could mean that it either was super bigoted towards autistic people, or it highlighted how awful people are to autistic people and that was too real for a goofy show.

Special Ed most likely is a play on special education, so the episode probably centered around Ed being put into special education and Eddy trying to make money out of exploiting him
Which most likely is why it never got past the concept phase
Or Eddy finding out that Ed doesn't have homework or something so he tries to fake his way into the class.
Honestly, it may have only gone as far as "Hey this could be a name for an episode" "......no"
The generally accepted theory about special ed was that it dealt with disabilities in some way. The staff probably felt uncomfortable putting subject matter like that in a children's comedy show, so it was likely scrapped early on.

It’s apparently both
According to Kenny, they originally used fake swears during recording, but since the cast apparently couldn’t get it right, only then were they allowed to swear for real

There's another one. I'm a big Resident Evil fan and always was very active in RE fan groups (mostly on Russian VK), so there was always rumor in them that Capcom announced but never released a Pokemon Snap-styled game, Resident Evil Snap, for Nintendo 64. The only "evidence" of it's existence was some most likely edited Pokemon Snap screenshots with Resident Evil monsters, and some web-pages even had it's premise:
" Titled Resident Evil Snap, the new game casts players as rookie S.T.A.R.S. photographer Stanley Christensen.
A total of 63 varieties of undead monsters and other G Virus-mutated creatures can be found -- including Nemesis, in his own special secret course!"
Everyone actively discussed this "game" even back in the beginning of 2010s but I never seen any evidence of it's existence to this day. Anyway, sounds very crazy but who knows the origin of all this story?

Plus Pokémon was the first anime 4Kids ever dubbed and they were still a small studio then, so it would have been expensive for them (remember how Beauty and the Beach wasn't dubbed until years later?)
Even if they could edit out the guns, they're too big to cover with fingers without it looking terrible, and the guns are actually fired at some points so it'd be a huge mess
We have readily-available fansubs that are almost certainly better than how 4Kids would've handled the episode so I don't really see the big deal honestly
That sounds like the kind of censorship that everyone hates.
Even people like me, who prefers the censored version of TV and movies, would roll our eyes and just stop watching.

Naw, it was a different episode they aired for Japanese. Don't remember which one though. I think it was earlier than that one.
Krabs lmao

List videos and lost videos hold a special place in my heart 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I think I can explain where the Pokemon dub rumor came from. Beauty and the Beach was mostly dubbed except for that *one* part. That only happened because they thought that they could pad out the run time with the Pokemon rap (like they'd usually do if they had to cut something out) but they couldn't. (I suspect that's why Pikachu's Jukebox was created- to have longer songs, just in case.)
So people probably thought that they tried dubbing The Legend Of Dratini too, but they'd have to cut multiple scenes and I think they knew from the start that it'd be too much. It's not just the guns, but Meowth's Hitler mustache that he had for some reason.
Pikachu's Jukebox was created long before the Beauty and the Beach dub aired (the Jukebox started a bit after Kids' WB picked up the show in early 1999 while the Beach dub aired in the summer of 2000, over a year later)
Also Meowth's mustache is supposed to resemble that of an old detective - he and James do a Good Cop, Bad Cop routine with the safari warden in which Meowth plays the older Good Cop, a staple of cop shows at the time. If it was really a major issue it would've been *much* easier to paint over the mustache than a bunch of large, constantly-moving guns.
This was not the reason why Beauty and the Beach was banned. It was because of James showing his fake boobs.

On the topic of Sailors Mouth, as neither theory have much proof then it can be assumed that either could be true at this point.
Neat analysis & list! Thanks for uploading!

Oh and yes, I do remember Hamtaro that was on YTV along with the Pokémon anime. And yes, you should do a Marvel Lost Media.
What I heard about Sailor's Mouth was that they TRIED using made up swears at first but it kept making them laugh too much to get the lines out (which matches up to the 2009 account) so they were permitted to actually swear and have it censored.
In the Pokémon Episode, it’s funny how it didn’t make it past the US sensors because of the revolvers even though firearms are 100x more prevalent in the US than Japan.
i will never get over the fact that there actually is audio of tom kenny cussing as spongebob from an interview

Could you make a video on 10 Pieces of Lost Anime Dubs?
YES!
That was something I wanted to see for quite a bit, I was gonna cover it on my own video on it but damn this was amazing.
Edit: I spoke to my brother who says that in fact what happened in Australia was that the Japanese episode was aired with subtitles to fill in the continuity gap. I remembered the Tauros but he remembered the subtitles and Japanese voices.
It’s kinda funny just how much lost media was found or explained away last year, it’s like yeah we were all dying but man did we have free time.
I remembered when I was going onto UA-cam in 2008. There was a Titanic video which may've featured some Hamtaro-like toys. But it was such a long time ago I think the video no longer exists. One thing from what I remember is a scene after the ship has collided with the iceberg, water slowly begins to flow. The person who made the video had filmed it in his or her bathtub acting as a boiler room while using audio from the 1979 TV movie SOS Titanic.
There is a movie i watched as a kid when i was in the ages betweet 4 - 8 yo.
(Im currently 26)
This movie is one of 3 movies i watched during that era of my live that traumatized me, the other 2 where The Gate (la puerta al inferno in spanish) and critters.
I spend since I'm 14, searching on the internet for those movies since I found critters on television and suddenly remembering all those traumas.
Then I look for a long time for the Gate and when I found it exactly as I remembered, I know this last piece of media had to exist. Now I will tell you about this movie:
In the start of the movie, there is a farmer with a dog (the dog kinda looks like a German shepherd or a Miolins (I think I did not mess with the dog race, if I do you will not see this part of the post) ), the farmer is worried because some of his animals were missing and there is a whole on the ground, the dog start to bark against the whole nonstop until something grabs it and pull it underground, then the farmer found out that the dog is missing and check the hole in the ground and suddenly gets drag away too (the scene is similar to C.H.U.D, but it is not, trust me)
The in the climax the monster finally reveals itself and start attacking a small town, I cannot remember too well the monster now, But i described as huge, dark and with piercing eyes.
The farm of the begining looks a bit similar to farms typically from Arizona, Texas or Utah. I'm not from USA so i not entirely sure about this fact.
Please, Help me to find this movie. I beg you guys.
(If you haven’t already) You should post this where more people could see it, like the subreddit
@@isabellanardulli7175 thanks, I would try
There is an episode of Inuyasha that I watched once as a child, and that episode left a mark on my developing mind. I would think about it from time to time and thought it must have been my imagination. Low and behold, years later, I’m into anime and I catch the same episode, realized it was the lost memory. I felt more complete after that.
Holy cow, I have been trying to remember the name of JumpStart Adventures 3rd Grade: Mystery Mountain for SO LONG!! Trying to search for 90s educational games never helped, I'm so glad I watched this video, thank you!
Idea: Lost video games that have seemingly been released but have been lost over time
That Hamster Dance movie
Great channel and videos, Sir!
I'm surprised you didn't mention the supposedly lost Astrology with Squidward shorts.
Weren't they found?
@@bistekka9854 The main 6 ones yes, but I was talking about the ones that were rumored to be lost. Like Scorpio, Virgo and Libra.
Or Squidward's rumoured snail transformation scene in I Was A Teenage Gary
@@enimo9241 I forgot about that one.
@Tyler Rakstis LSSQ updated that to explain that the "lost" ones never existed; a showrunner confirmed that the discovered ones were all the ones that were made. They never actually covered every single Zodiac sign.
I love your channel so much 🥺 Your videos are always so interesting!!
Oh hi there! Thank you so much, that means a lot to me. Glad to have you here!
@@AllThingsLost You're so welcome!!
Hamtaro was the reason I had like five hamsters when I was little 😂😭
Way back in 1990, when I was eight years old, I was lucky enough to go to Disney world.
Um wasn't the dreamfinders cartoon had only it's first three episodes aired once, got cancelled and then became lost? That's what I remember.
I doubt it, Dreamfinders wasn’t even produced.

You should do a lost media video about lost media from Mexico or South America
I have never thought about doing regionally based LM videos... anything in particular you'd like to see?
