My great grandmother was the alibi for the father of Elizabeth . She testified in court that he spent the night with her the night of the murder.
My grandparents were divorced and I guess she was having an affair with him. She testified that he had a cold and she was nursing him back to health.
My grandma lived in West Hollywood.
I remember the family talking about it a lot. Kind of scandalous…. I think my great grandmother was a real party girl. She died many years ago at 93.
I think everyone involved is long dead, so the mystery remains. My grandma just insisted that the Dad did not do it.

that is massively interesting, to have such a family connection would make for such fascinating conversation.

The nickname was derived from the movie “The Blue Dahlia” and Liz’s black hair. She got it from the fellows she was dating.
To me, there’s no mystery to her death. She was tortured for hours, raped and murdered by a skilled sadist, psychopathic surgeon. Neatly bisected and posed to exactly resemble a Man Ray painting. By one of his killers closest friends, the genius sexual deviant, Dr George Hodel.
