And not to mention her tumblr and her efforts in life's success was just as it would be for anyone else to assume she had mental issues is slander...I know people with real mental issues and lesser mental issues and I can guarantee this girl wasn't suffering from that she suffered from a case of pour police work that was paid off
Why would certain people think theres a cover up theres no evidence of that, and why would anyone have a reason to cover it up, its ridiculous the video was slowed down for reasons so when it was put out to public for help we could see her fac, its clear the actions she was making, shows she was suffering with mental health issues of bipolar is the reason she died simple as that
i don’t think this is accidental. how would she even put herself in that water tank? wouldn’t you need tools to open/close it? how would she get inside and close it herself from the inside? it doesn’t make sense to me. i think someone is covering it up. someone knows EXACTLY what happened.

Hey guys, ive researched this all day. And the reason the elevator didnt close is because one of the buttons makes the elevator hold. I was able to debunk everything today exept the fact that she was naked. Everything else has good evidence behind it. Its still a strange case nontheless.
I fee like her being bipolar doesn't explain her behavior in the elevator. Being bipolar means you have states of euphoria and depression, it doesn't mean that you talk to imaginary people and act bizarrely. That behavior is more consistent with a schizophrenic, who has problems perceiving and interpreting reality.
This is about the elevator, I may be completely wrong with this, but isn't there an elevator game where if you hit so many buttons, depending on what floor you land on, there will be a little girl and then if you did something to anger her, something would happen to you? I may be completely wrong but it was just a thought.

@@ieatgrass_8360 well theres a theory/hoax that people have died in every single room in the hotel, and back in the mid 1900s (think 50's - 60's, i forgot when the hotel was built) they had lots of big stars stay there, that all died horribly (one being marilyn monroe, RIP), and also people think its very haunted and that theres lots of spirits. It kind of freaks me out how the doors never close even though she pushed buttons....did she push the 'open door' button and it glitched to just keep open the whole time? Creepy....
The netflix series answers a lot of these questions. For instance, the janitor found the lid was off the tank, the elevator had a ‘hold’ button that stopped the elevator from closing, her body was in the water for more than 24 hours, and the alarmed exit door did not actually trigger an alarm.
this particular case has always scared me for some reason. Like I like scary/paranormal stuff but every time I see that picture of her in the elevator, it sends shivers down my spine in a way no other case does

That surveillance footage was legitimately giving me the chills. It’s like she was talking to someone, or maybe... something. The way she even moves her hands in such an inhuman way too. I don’t believe in ghosts, but that’s just batshit freaky.
Her bipolar disorder is what makes the case unsolved because if she didn't have it there would be less possibilities to the case making it easier the fact that she was bipolar brings a wall between whether she was being chased did suicide was raped or any other paranormal theories
@@VaporeonEnjoyer1 She could have been just messing around too. The video is heavily edited with an entire minute cut out. Time stamps arent suppose to be that blurry either so thats suspicious. Zoomed in you can see the time stamps are moving too fast and if you slow down you can get the video at real speed. The video is actually sped up quite a bit. She also appears to be looking at someone out of the elevator, then a minute is cut out of the video, so its possible she was murdered and its a cover up, but no one really knows, many have investigated it but we still don't have full unedited footage yet :/ Why does her being bipolar mean the video needs to be sped up and have a minute cut out? Is that not suspicious? (EDIT: I meant slowed down sorry, heres a video ua-cam.com/video/1YO4QbaNDjI/v-deo.html)
There is actually proof that her phone wasn't with her at that time. She posted something online about her displacing her phone and she couldn't find it. I watched a video about this topic but I can't remember where she posted it tho..
Is nobody going to talk about how the surveillance footage of her in the elevator was obviously tampered with? However, there also wasn't any water in her lungs, so she was most likely killed then placed in the water tank. As if she had drowned in the water tank, she would've had water in her lungs.
Her parents sued the hotel for diligence but lost the case. The janitor testified that access to the rooftop was secured. How she gained entry is still a mystery.
A Retarded Orange Ape In The White House Apparently only about a minute was cut from the video. It was stated due to the cut the time stamp was warped (unclear as you see in the video) and her mouth looked pixelated at one point. Police stated that sometimes videos are edited because a person might be on video who doesn’t pertain to the case so they “cut” them out. So what I’m thinking is that when she was waving her hands around outside the elevator, perhaps she was talking to someone..... either way I feel horrible because I think this girl was murdered and it got swept under the rug. Nothing adds up.
It can if she was having bipolar psychosis, which could actually explain it very well. Hallucinations and delusions are both later symptoms of it, and considering her roommates were complaining of "odd behaviour" (early symptoms of BP include difficulty communicating, suspicion of others, anxiety, and less emotional behaviour/expression), it all connects fairly well.
Yeah, I really don’t understand why her being Bipolar matters. Bipolar is jut an emotional disorder, that wouldn’t cause her to act like she’s schizophrenic.
Maybe she was playing the elevator game I heard that rumour comes from Corea and the rules are that you have to be in a 10 floor building and go in it's elevator then you have to type a number with the elevator buttons like 4,7,1,9 for example and at your final destination a woman will get in with you no-one can see her and you can't speak to her or even look at her then she takes you to the top floor and that's how you enter the other demencion.....they say that if you don't wanna be there or disrespect the woman you will become crazy and you will commit suicide or the woman will make you give your soul to "them" also that woman had a diary that said spesificly that she was suffering from depression and mental illness
yeah and not only was she found in an extremely hard to open water tank but she was also found facing up and to find someone who drowned facing up means that they were forced to drown. if you are drowning naturally then you go face down. there is no way it was accidental or suicidal
@Lauffles i understand what you are saying but she was found with an4l bleeding during the autopsy. if she was having an episode i think it makes more sense for someone to have taken advantage of her. it doesn't make sense in any other way
Ecliptic Goddess that itself confirmed to me that she isn't really in our "world"... I've heard countless of happenings in asia like 2 guys went to the 14th floor at the hotel in Malaysia but the hotel only has 13th floor.. but in the elivator it had the 14 level button but next time when they checked to show to the hotel staff there were no 14 button. And in Malaysia 14 number is considered bad luck..
Idk, but I'm surprised they didn't show the rest of the footage where she gives up and leave the elevator and never seen again, and when she does mysteriously the elevator door closes behind her, scary she spent 5mins. trying to close it, and it did only when she left
@@carljohnson2194 Why would pressing several buttons keep the elevator from functioning? I've been in elevators in large establishments where multiple people with varying destinations would push a number of different floors... and the elevators responded just the same...
This is technically solved. It was an accidental death caused by Elisa’s own mental illness. This cause of death upset a lot of people at the time. According to family she had a history of hallucinations of someone ‘hunting’ her, often hiding and scared someone was after her. She had medications to help her with her mental illness and she was living a normal life. Her family didn’t like the idea of Elisa travelling to LA on her own but because she was 21, she didn’t need their permission. Once there she stopped taking her meds. Accused her roommates of being demons trying to kill her so the hotel just moved her to her own private room. Elisa somehow got to the roof and climbed into the water tank (FYI the water tank door WAS OPEN WHEN THEY FOUND HER BODY) due to hypothermia (look it up)she took off her clothes whilst in the water tank This is just a sad case of a woman who died due to her mental illness and was made into a bigger case because a police officer mistakenly reported that the maintenance man found the water tank lid closed. No it was found open. RIP Elisa ❤
@@fazzaah well that too. Just saying if it was suicide she wouldnt have removed her clothes. No way she accidentally fell in. All the more reason it was deliberate.
She was having a psychotic episode. As to how she was able to climb up the rooftop which was believed to be “locked,” the staff lied about it. Another UA-camr went there and he was easily able to get to the rooftop. Nevertheless this cover was such a classic from the ghoul bois (yes Brett is also an og). I hope Ryan covers unsolved cases again on Watcher.

@@Windmillc Very good point. The more horrifying thought of that is that maybe during her mental episode, a staff member could've...done horrific things to her, against her will....if you get what I'm saying....which would explain the fact that she wasn't dressed.
Im in love with mysteries and ghost story but this one Im not sure. If its a ghost story maybe she got possessed. But nothing said that maybe she was being put inconscious by an employee and put in the tank because only staff can go there so...

I get the bipolar part and that she might have missed her meds which causes hallucinations but what disturbing is the elevator door not closing for so long plus how would she leave to the roof, climb the ladder and lift the heavy lid, go in the tank, and take off her clothes?
Oh my gosh but the way she moved her hands in the elevator camera footage freaked me out. It made me feel sick, anyone else? If not, watch again and only look at her hands during that part.
yeah I am a person who has watched every scary movie in this planet and documentaries but this movement of hands really shocked me ,i was like don't show that to me again that is a pure torture
There’s just so many unanswered questions. I understand that her death could be blamed on mental health problems but how did she get up the fire escape? She opened the window? Also, the alarm never went off? Someone explain how she legit got on the roof and there’s no footage of it? And when she’s on the roof, how the hell did she get on top of the water structures, lift off a heavy lid, and get in? All while taking off her clothes? I mean I just can’t come down to one answer. I don’t understand
1. She got up to the roof via the window, I heard somebody say that canines tracked her sent there 2. And about the alarm, i think theres only an alarm in the fire escape stairs door way 3. There would be no footage probably due to the lack of surveillance cameras on the roof or on the way to the roof, and nobody probably saw her from outside the hotel doing so 4. The tank was already wide open apparently when she got there 5. There were ladder leading right into the tanks 6. She probably snapped out of her hallucinations and realized what she had done, and that she couldn't escape from inside the tank and removed her clothes to lessen the weight of her body and prolong her survival. But then again, i have done minimum research on this topic and I am only relaying the research of the others in this comment section have gathered. So please don't take my word for this and possibly look into this a bit more at your own time Thank you
Honestly no one put her in there this doesn’t make sense the fact she drowned, means someone would’ve had to lift the lid while putting her in there, what does make sense (and I’m not that big of a ghost believer) but ghost honestly a ghost lifted the lid and the girl got in is the only logical way I can think about how she died.
I watch so many forensic shows and documentaries on murderers and I have no problem with them. But this story always seems to give me the chills and idk why
It is a tragedy that no one recognized Elisa's psychotic episode and mental health crisis for what it was and got her to a hospital. The staff of the Cecil were so used to ignoring red flags from being immersed in one of the largest homelessness populations, that they just shushed up the problem by isolating her away from her roommates.
that's it. sometimes people make a mockery out of mental episodes and not figuring out positive solutions to chip in and possibly try to save someone's life. and LA is massively populated of homelessness, its served as a stark contrast to Beverly hills clientele and their expensive Chanel bags which can feed roughly 560 meals for one person.
i experienced having a psychotic episode and when i checked it in at a hospital, not even a doctor or any of my nurses recognized it. the psychiatrists did tho, yet i still needed an mri scan, a bunch of other tests.. i wouldnt blame the staff

The people that obsess with cases like this and it’s not their job to solve have mental issues

Actually people with Bipolar D/O can have psychotic symptoms, including hallucinations.

A Retarded Orange Ape In The White House Apparently only about a minute was cut from the video.
Elisa somehow got to the roof and climbed into the water tank (FYI the water tank door WAS OPEN WHEN THEY FOUND HER BODY)
due to hypothermia (look it up)she took off her clothes whilst in the water tank
This is just a sad case of a woman who died due to her mental illness and was made into a bigger case because a police officer mistakenly reported that the maintenance man found the water tank lid closed. No it was found open.

the fact she wasnt in any mental state to climb to the roof or lift a 2 ton metal lid and climb in and close it on herself makes me believe someone took advantage of her mental state.

Im in love with mysteries and ghost story but this one Im not sure. If its a ghost story maybe she got possessed. But nothing said that maybe she was being put inconscious by an employee and put in the tank because only staff can go there so...
Did anyone make a disgusted face of disapproval when they talked about the black/ bad tasting water?
+AtmosphericColor
It actually gave me a little nausea.
Yes
nah
Right. I was like OMG.
Yes. like it's hard for me to look at tap water the same way.
It's crazy how this scares me more than most scary movies that are being made
same
+Ellie Cruz well scary movies are fake this is real
lol me too
+Ellie Cruz I guess because this happened in real life, and the scenes we've watch is the actual footage.. Argghhhh, this is so giving me nightmares...
Julie Diana The point is, scary movies are made to scare. But thanks for clarifying i didn't know this was real.... 😐
I get the bipolar part and that she might have missed her meds which causes hallucinations but what disturbing is the elevator door not closing for so long plus how would she leave to the roof, climb the ladder and lift the heavy lid, go in the tank, and take off her clothes?
Everyone: scared of the hand movements
*me: scared of the background music*
PLEASEE ME TOO 👋🏻😭
Me, scared of her completely black eyes. And hands tbh. That was tooo creepy.

Oh my gosh but the way she moved her hands in the elevator camera footage freaked me out. It made me feel sick, anyone else? If not, watch again and only look at her hands during that part.
yea ..it makes me feel sick and start crying
gamergirl517 ikr
gamergirl517 she looked like she had autism
it kinda looks like she's trying to swim?
yeah I am a person who has watched every scary movie in this planet and documentaries but this movement of hands really shocked me ,i was like don't show that to me again that is a pure torture
Why am I watching this at 2 AM when I'm home alone and there are weird noises coming from the water pipes?..
because you can take Xanax if you want
You like to live on the edge.. and I support that
Because you can
You should put on the movie "Dark Water", that'll calm ya right down!
Lo mismo acá 😂😂
There’s just so many unanswered questions. I understand that her death could be blamed on mental health problems but how did she get up the fire escape? She opened the window? Also, the alarm never went off? Someone explain how she legit got on the roof and there’s no footage of it? And when she’s on the roof, how the hell did she get on top of the water structures, lift off a heavy lid, and get in? All while taking off her clothes? I mean I just can’t come down to one answer. I don’t understand
1. She got up to the roof via the window, I heard somebody say that canines tracked her sent there
2. And about the alarm, i think theres only an alarm in the fire escape stairs door way
3. There would be no footage probably due to the lack of surveillance cameras on the roof or on the way to the roof, and nobody probably saw her from outside the hotel doing so
4. The tank was already wide open apparently when she got there
5. There were ladder leading right into the tanks
So please don't take my word for this and possibly look into this a bit more at your own time
Thank you
Honestly no one put her in there this doesn’t make sense the fact she drowned, means someone would’ve had to lift the lid while putting her in there, what does make sense (and I’m not that big of a ghost believer) but ghost honestly a ghost lifted the lid and the girl got in is the only logical way I can think about how she died.
@@scotttheshark3576 wait what? They’d have to live the lid while putting her in in order for her to drown? She easily could’ve gotten in and drowned
why don’t they check the security cameras like outside of the elevator? see who or what she’s talking to
yeah i wonder too
ITS THE ELEVATOR GAME JEEZ
It doesn't matter, police release only the elevator video, so maybe they know more, and in the video she looks clearly insane

As someone who has psychosis, it sounds more like an episode or hallucinations than demonic possession

She was obviously and stunningly impaired. It was LSD. Or something similar.
The manger is a joke. By her body language and facial expressions including her smirks. She is the failure. She failed Elisa.
Corrected: manager. Not manger. Lol

It is kind of creepy how the elevator door didn't close
you probably have to manually close it
She was pressing the hold button which keeps the door open for 2 minutes, I've been doing research

Daily Tv that's the most scariest part
the whole video show the door open and closed with no one disturbing it, i saw the video in kendall rae(spelling)
Idk why I got scared when she was moving her hands around crazy 😂

It's an unnatural hand movement. This is also why "almost" human things like robots or 3D models freak us out. It looks human, but enough is off to make it not completely human, but we're unsure what.
+LifeofPrecious It freaked me out too (that's why I'm in the comment section xD)...it was like she was possessed...
if you look closely, the hand movements are swimming motions
Richard Ramirez died AFTER Lam’s death. So if it was his ghost that’s some impressive live streaming ghosting abilities
