    I have had one of these for 20 years, bought at a home show in Boston and could not live without it in the kitchen. Great for fries.. Time to buy this new one.

    I got it at a yard sale new. Best deal ever. Works JUST as it shows. If you cook a lot or into the new KETO diet way of life and prep food for the week to keep you on track with your intermittent fasting schedule...this is the KITCHEN TOOL you need! I've had it for more years than I can remember and its still sharp as heck. I do not let anyone else use it though, to stop from any kind of damage or loss. I treat it like its gold. Sorry but others just do not treat things with as much respect as they used to...if a roommate loses a piece its no big deal to them, so I just avoid the whole disaster.

    A very good demonstration if somewhat repetitious at times. I have an original Börner slicer from when I first saw one on a tv shopping channel. Unfortunately the holder plastic has been degrading and bits falling off. The sunlight has discoloured the plastic and caused this degradation but it is still fully usable.
    I believe that these newer ones are a different plastic. I bought one, as a replacement, a couple of years ago and quickly returned it because it was poorly made compared to my old one. The parts didn’t fit easily into the storage box and the blades were digging into the it. Now I'm searching for a replacement food holder and they appear to be unobtainable here in the U.K.

      UM. Did you watch the whole video? lol. It gives you 3 incerts. The plain incert has a thin slice and a thick slice size. It should also have the instructions ingraved on the machine itself. You wrote 2 years ago though so Im sure you figured it out. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I use mine.

      Now you do!.... be patient with yourself because it is natural to press down...won't work...let the blade do the cutting....have used mine for over 30 years.....first one after 10 years ended up in a restaurant after the electric one died.....still being used....mine for home is my 2nd one and 30 years later have to say good as the first day ....enjoy it and don't press down....it works like a charm makes quick fast salads and super fresh...can prepare minutes before serving.....not the night before.
      I recommend this slicer above all others...a rue gem in the kitchen!👍

    I'm finding garlic difficult to slice with this.

    • @lrl2196
      @lrl2196 3 роки тому +3

      use a chopper for garlic or just smash and cut with knife. easier unless you are doing 10 cloves at once.....but still just chop them. cloves are really too small for this but once you et the hang of the slicer it can be done.....easier to smash or chop. That is my method....easier than fussing with the slicer. jmho😊

  • @Lulu-vi4wb

    I wish he does it in slower motion.

    • @lrl2196
      @lrl2196 3 роки тому

      to slice properly the momentum has to be fast when you go slowly it will stick in the blades same as if you press down. once you get the hang of it you will just zip reight along...have had mine over 30 years.....it's gold in my kitchen!
