I bought mine nearly 20 years ago and it is still in the box. Have been watching cooking shows during this lockdown and see many chefs using this device -- so it's now out of the box -- and I can't thank you enough for your video. Many many many thanks!
We have this from the last 18 years and still we haven't unpacked it because we don't know how to use this but now watching your video I have unpacked it and started using it thanku for the video
We have been using these for 35 years, great gifts, all my daughters & extended families enjoy the V slicer❣️ Vital kitchen tool!!!! Great tutorial! Thank you. Ps: A tiny suggestion would be to stop the extra slicing & kitchen sounds not made by the professional presenter. These extra sounds create an unexplained & unnecessary distraction. Food 🥦🥒for thought😊
I bought my first one around 40 years ago after watching a demo in a shopping centre. I have never been without one since. I'm so afraid of being without mine that I bought another as a spare. I use it very often as I dehydrate surplus fruit and veg which needs slicing thinly. I make coleslaw on a weekly basis. Not the thin vinegary supermarket stuff, but thick, creamy stuff, with more of the stuff I like (onion). I make one big bowlful, then split it into 3 or 4 and make variation. I add sultanas and curry powder to make Coronation coleslaw, Make coleslaw from red cabbage and add slices almonds, or add pineapple chunks, celery and apple with a bit of honey as a mildly sweet and sour-ish coleslaw. It is all healthy, with no additives and is *cheap*.
Hi Phyllis, We both have had ours for about the same number of decades!!! I am in awe of your coleslaw recipes and variations using fruits & nuts etc. When is your cookbook going to be available on Amazon?!!😊
@@chrisolin1993 I have a number of books that people have said should be written. I'll get around to them all when I can learn how to do without sleep and therefore have some spare time lol.
So which model did you choose could you tell me please? I am planning to buy one but the various models V1 V3 v6 v5 all that is confusing me. Price again is another thing to be considered. Thanks
I saw you demonstrate this on hochanda. I was that impressed I put it on my Christmas list. Luckily my husband got it for me. I've only just around to trying it out. I love it! I'm glad I found your UA-cam clip though, to remind me of all the things you can do with it.... off to make a salad for pack up tomorrow. Many thanks, Jacky
Jacky Kirk iam going to watch this demo over and over till i get it down pat i am 78 and have had a stroke then I will start to use it thanks for the demo it's the best one i have seen
could you tell me ,where or how I can get the storage box ?.I had my pieces in a plastic box and the v cutter on top..you,ve guest it,reached into the cupboard and sliced my fingers(three)..please help
Hellow I have bought one of these I have use the steel one does it have life time warranty??? I bought from WMF store in toronto from east bever creek road now it is closed I need the replesment what should I do??? I use every single day
my wife got a mandolin slicer and it is junk. we wanted to cut french fries and it doesn't do that. the cuts get stuck in the blade and won't fall. it's going back to find a better one.
+Mildred Lyon Hi Many thanks for your enquiry. To cut the chips ensure you use the full length of the mandolin with the large julienne blade insert. All the way to the top of the board and all the way to the bottom will give you a 10mm chip. Regards T N Evans Ltd
+T N Evans Ltd Thank you for your reply I have noticed now why your chips are thicker its because you have only 8 cutting blades on you cutter I have 12 on mine could you tell me where to get one with only 8 blades like yours please as I purchased this so I could cut chips so I am very disappointed with my v slicer
+Mildred Lyon We are using the 10mm julienne blade. Which Borner model do you have? The 10mm blade comes as standard with the V1 as in the film. The V5 and Stainless Steel V6 do not have this size of large Juilenne blade. Please do check out the comparisons on our website www.tnevansltd.co.uk/borner-mandolin-v-slicer.htmlI hope that helps.RegardsT N Evans Ltd
I believe it's the Swissmar Borner V Slicer. I have the JML Super Slicer which is an almost identical product. (Got mine at a charity shop). Came here to see how to use it properly.
I am positive he's never read the comments, but i'm still gonna say it: Informative, yes, but COMPLETELY USELESS, dude!!! There is no name for the product, no link where it could be found and no answer either to people asking for it!!! Way to go, pfff!

It's also very useful for slicing and dicing veggies to make soup in winter.
Thanks for sharing your recipe

I've been agonizing on which model to get. Your video has been EXCEPTIONALLY helpful! Thank you soooooo very much!
So which model did you choose could you tell me please? I am planning to buy one but the various models V1 V3 v6 v5 all that is confusing me. Price again is another thing to be considered. Thanks
Excellent demo... why didn't you wait until you were alone in the kitchen..,the other person cooking was very distracting!
Perfectly stated.

Hi, Thank You Very Much a wonderful Presentation A very nice gentlemen and helpful, God Bless.
+D.J. Nassar Many thanks for your comments.RegardsTim
Wow thank you for the dicing tip !!
The background noise is very distracting. Otherwise, a good video.
It looks like his audio / video synchronization is off.
The 'background noise' is actually the soundtrack but about 20 seconds ahead of the video.
could you tell me ,where or how I can get the storage box ?.I had my pieces in a plastic box and the v cutter on top..you,ve guest it,reached into the cupboard and sliced my fingers(three)..please help
FYI - Your sound is out of sync (for me at least and I did refresh)
Thank you very much for this video. I just received mine, and needed more instruction on it. This has been so helpful.
Many thanks and Happy Slicing SilverscreenRNRegards T N Evans ltd
The sound is off by a couple of seconds to the video & it's distracting, but the video is comprehensive and good instruction for the unit's use.
He is a pro. He made every slice so effortless. The sound is very distracting.
Slicing *is* effortless.
I've bought me one of those and they are excellent!!!
Hellow I have bought one of these I have use the steel one does it have life time warranty??? I bought from WMF store in toronto from east bever creek road now it is closed I need the replesment what should I do??? I use every single day
Very informational! Thank you.
I'm finding garlic difficult to slice with this.
my wife got a mandolin slicer and it is junk. we wanted to cut french fries and it doesn't do that. the cuts get stuck in the blade and won't fall. it's going back to find a better one.
the only problem i have is no one tells us what blade is used for each item, i had no instructions with mine
Wonderful demonstration! Thank you.. I loved how you showed how to dice the vegetables. The sound was out of sync which was a bit distracting.
+Sharyl Whittington Out of sync for me too. I kept thinking there was another person off camera chopping other stuff ! Good demo though.
I wish we have this product in Africa especially in kenya.
There are so many mandolins in Kamukunji and Instagram stores
so helpful. Thank you.
I have the same one. Cut my finger so bad that I had to have stitches. Be careful.
That's what I'm terrified of doing with mine!
Informative but off putting as sound doesn't match up
What is the name of this mandolin
Hi yandere dev
Is it available in stores in Canada
Yes, sound definitely out of sync.
merci à vous pour cette démonstration 👍
Could you have filmed this when the joiner wasn't there sawing away in the background🪚
I wish to buy two pieces . What is price and availability
My chips are too thin how did you cut your chips thick ?
