Thought of buying a Flowbee for many years but with the Pandemic hitting it finally pushed me over the edge and I've just bought mine! Going to try it this afternoon! Of all the videos on it, I think that yours without a doubt seems the most down to earth and best one. Just Subbed to your channel!
Thanks for the nice comment, John. I'm seeing "Flo" today, also. You're fortunate you were able to get one. They are sold out in the major sites. Please come back and tell me how it went. -Tom
evolutionaryTom Just finished ... worked great 👍🏻 I err’ed perhaps by leaving it a bit on the long side ... but of the videos I watched, that was my intention. My wife helped with the back and I’m 100% satisfied! BTW I’ve just ordered some Bongo Ties as well !!!
@@johnmccormick2883 Very cool, John. I finished mine about 30 min ago, and Maria did the back. Another great cut. I just laugh every time I'm done! That was smart to leave it long. As you get more used to it you'll go straight to the length you like. My uncle used to be a barber. He says the difference between a bad haircut and a good haircut is about a week. LOL. You're going to love the Bongo Ties. Congratulations! -Tom
Tom - I liked your video - I've been using my Flowbee for over twenty years and can't imagine getting a more perfect haircut anywhere else!! I was dubious about purchasing the mini vac and then finally decided to purchase one last summer. WOW - What a great investment!!! I wish I had done it sooner!!! I can take the whole system with me if need be!! I have tried several different hairstyles and lengths with all the different size spacers and have never been disappointed!!! People are always surprised to hear I cut my own hair with the Flowbee!! I have nothing but great things to say about this haircutting system!!! :-)
I love your Flowbee story, Kim. 20 years, wow!! I love to hear from you Flowbee Pros. I read your comment to my wife and she was really impressed. Thanks for the great comment. -Tom
We've used ours since 1990. We finally ordered a new one because the blades of the older models are no longer availabel. BTW: I recommend using ear plugs because it can be a bit loud. Other than that, I figure our original ~$50 investment in 1990 likely saved us thousands on haircuts over more than 30 years. Can't wait for the new one to arrive. I need a haircut!
I love hearing stories like this from you Flowbee Pros!! I just set one of my sons up with a full Flowbee package for Christmas. You have saved thousands, and looked good doing it. Thanks for the comment! -Tom
@@evolutionaryTom If you haven't read the Wikipedia page for Flowbee, it's a fun read. A true success story for an American garage inventor. My wife ordered ours from an infomercial and I thought she was crazy. She sure showed me, eh?
thx..only video that showed me how to connect the FB Minivac to the FB Cutter. I had the attachment on an couldnt figure out why it wouldnt snug fit, now i know its for when you use another vacuum cleaner smh!
I don’t know much about the flowbee but I had the absolute best spices on my steak yesterday. Excalibur ultimate steak and roast rub was so good. Thanks Tom!
I noticed when you took the lid off, half of the air vents on the vacuum are not open. They have plastic covering one half. Is it supposed to be like that? I just noticed that on mine and thought it was a factory error, so I cut them out with an exacto knife. Seem like it creates better suction now, but I'm not sure if I should have done that or not.
First of all, I can't believe The Bandit uses a Flowbee like I do. That's so cool. ;-) Secondly, yes, I think all the vacuums come that way. On Flowbee's website it says that they like that and if you cut the plastic off it will void the warranty. It's weird though that whoever manufactures those would send them out like that. Seems like an obvious molding issue in the way they make them. I think your safe although I haven't cut mine off. -Tom
I got the Flowbee Mini-Vac and it runs hot, loud, unstable with no flat service to sit on. More problematic, you can see the sparks from the side and there is a burning smell.
I remove the filter after each cut and shake it out over the trash can. When I do that, the filters last a really long time, like a year. I've even used a small brush to get all the hair off of them. It takes less than a minute or so. Hope this helps! -Tom
The right side of the vents under the filter are blocked by plastic. Is it supposed to be like that? I just noticed this on mine and now I'm wondering if I should clear the plastic from the vents. I've used this vac 3 times so far and I'm not impressed by it but maybe this was the cause.
I have gotten this question a few times, DP. It's a logical question. Flowbee addresses this on their "Questions" page from their website. Here is a cut and paste from that. Seems like the extra plastic is normal and shouldn't be removed. "Is the excess flashing over my Super Mini-Vac’s grill normal?" As stated on the “Info About” sheet provided with your Mini-Vac under section 5, excess flashing on grill is normal, and will not hinder vacuum’s performance. Also, your warranty will be voided if the grill is tampered with, or modified in any way. You can also potentially burn out the motor, and render your unit useless if any changes are made to how the unit came to you originally. Hope this helps. -Tom
Tom, I noticed you have a wall (or door) full of stickers. I’m interested in the Eibach sticker, did you get a set of shocks? If so how do you like them ?
I did at one time, Mike. I had one of their shocks on my Dual Sport bike. Don't have the bike any longer but it was a great aftermarket shock. It allowed me to handle some extra weight that I had in the saddle bags.

Needs a larger reservoir for the hair. And it would have been nice had you powered it on so we could hear it.
Agreed. Seems like an advertisement without hearing the motor of the vacuum.
Great and thorough review. Thank you!
I appreciate the nice comment, thank you! -Tom
Thanks for your video, Tom. Helpful, since I didn't know how to empty out my vacuum.
Not sure why many of these comments were hidden for review but my apologies. Thank you. I'm glad it was useful. -Tom
@@evolutionaryTom Maybe this is really simple, but could you do a video on oiling the blades?
@@evolutionaryTom Not sure if I posted this before, but if you can post a video on how to oil the blades, would love one of those, as well.

Can the vacuum run 220volts current?
Hi! May i ask how noisy this is? Is it just as loud as most small vacuums?

nice video! i have the same hair style!
i'd like to see which plastic spacers (and where) you use to cut your hair (follow on video?).
I have another video on my channel where I talk about the spacers, 1MFD. -Tom
could even diy shorten the hose a little bit to make it a table top set up since the mini vac is so small

Have you been in touch with the manufacturer?
@@davestelling they did send out another one at no cost and it does appear to be functioning but the first one was okay at first as well.
Hello Tom 👋
Do you have a hack for the filter to avoid cleanup? Also how long before you change your Flowbee vac filters?
Thank you

Lots of people, Spicky. Flowbee is calling it "The Clooney Effect". LOL.
