  • Song: If You Could Only See
    Artist: Tonic
    Album: Lemon Parade
    Release: 1996
    LYRICS:
If you could only see the way she loves me
    Then maybe you would understand
Why I feel this way about our love
    And what I must do
If you could only see how blue her eyes can be when she says
When she says she loves me
    Well you've got your reasons
    And you've got your lies
    And you've got your manipulations
They cut me down to size
Sayin' you love but you don't
You give your love but you won't
If you could only see the way she loves me
    Then maybe you would understand
Why I feel this way about our love
    And what I must do
If you could only see how blue her eyes can be when she says
When she says she loves me
    Seems the road less traveled
    Show's happiness unraveled
And you got to take a little dirt
    To keep what you love
    That's what you gotta do
Sayin' you love but you don't
You give your love but you won't
You're stretching out your arms to something that's just not there.
If you could only see the way she loves me
    Then maybe you would understand
Why I feel this way about our love
    And what I must do
If you could only see how blue her eyes can be when she says
When she says she loves me
Sayin' you love but you don't
You give your love but you won't
Sayin' you love where you stand
Give your heart but you won't
If you could only see the way she loves me
    Then maybe you would understand
Why I feel this way about our love
    And what I must do
If you could only see how blue her eyes can be when she says
When she says she loves me

DOES ANYONE ELSE MISS THE 90's SO BADLY THEY CAN TASTE IT?! I feel both sad, nostalgic, and so incredibly happy when I hear this kind of music. One day, I swear this kind of music will return to style. It's so much better than the music they play on the radio today. Not that all modern stuff is bad. It's just that 90's music was SO MUCH BETTER!

What is truly mind boggling is today's youth(most) just don't GET ANYTHING AT ALL OUT OF HEARING A BEAUTIFUL ACOUSTIC GUITAR OR POWERFUL, THICK GUITAR CHORD RINGING OUT TO THE HEAVENS! The power and emotion that comes from a chunky riff, an electrifying solo, a distorted six string cutting through the air, commanding attention. I mean, how can anyone with earholes not be moved by that?!?!?!

songs are made to capture souls. they go as deep as the hidden truth in all of us. they dig and they find the true us. the real meaning of who we are and what we are all about without the lies, fake and illusions. I personally deeply love music. I always find my place, my peace and my refuge to it. hope you feel the same, take care yourself and each other. love, peace and harmony

This music is rare now, and I'm glad I was apart of it in the 90's.
It's unpredictable that it will come back into 'fashion' with all these new electronic musical instruments getting popular. You can imagine 15 years from now, showing your kids this music. "What did you listen to back then... how boring is this..".
We were lucky enough to live this music :)

Great song.! music , technology and the world were evolving at a headspinning pace in the late 90s. The world was changing all around us. I was 22 years old when this song came out. What a time to be alive and young and irresponsible. This sound was raw, honest, brand new and exciting like all the unknowns that lied ahead of me. This song moves me profoundly for some reason

Since I was only 3 years old In 1996, I wasn't old enough to have any stand out memories of this song. However, this is one of my favorite songs lately. So much better than a lot of today's top 40 that's being shoved down our throats.

Oh how this takes me back to a time when pop music was tolerable. To a time when Leonardo DiCaprio was on the cover of every magazine in America claiming to be "The King Of The World" and The Spice Girls were topping the music charts around the world. To a time where boys owned either a copy of Goldeneye 007 for the N64 or Final Fantasy 7 for the PS1, and If you didn't own a copy of "Yourself or Someone Like You" by Matchbox 20.or "Third Eye Blind" by Third Eye Blind you were a nobody.
To a time where people wondered "Who Killed Jonbenet Ramsey?", just as much as who killed Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls, or what's tonight episode of 7th heaven gonna be about? To a time where Nickelodeon was truly "The Network For Kids" and every preteen girl idolized, Larisa Oleynik just as much as they do Miranda Cosgrove now. and finally, to a time when Cartoonetwork was Cartoonetwork not CN and Space Ghost Coast to Coast was the closest thing to Adult Swim.
Yes, I believe that year was 1997, and I was just starting Kindergarten. Fuck I can't Believe that's been 17 years ago.

Music is a release of all that has built up over 50 years. The songs you dont care for now will leave their mark on you in the latter years, if you really Love it for what it is. All be well.

I don't come here so often, they are positives and negatives because we are people and as people, we have the right to our opinions and I respect that. For those, who have so many positive things to say, I want to thank and let you know that my heart is wide open to you wish you all great things in life. For those with negative commons, I also freely open my heart to you and wish you all the great things in life. We are living in a society where hate, pain, violence taking over our lives. we are no longer save to the safest place on earth, school, churches, airports and even our home. we can choose to live in harmony, respect, and love for one and another and leave all the hatred behind. This country is our home, where we have our loved ones, our lives, and our future, please don't bring hate to it. We have suffered enough as a race, as a nation, as people. It is time to heal ourselves through each other by simply respect and appreciate one and another choice, which doesn't affect you in any way. like it or not I am your brother, born and raised on the same soil as you, please don't ake my differences treating you. The beauty of this world is our differences and that is what makes this world beautiful. Thinking about it if everyone in the world likes blue, the world would not be as colorful as it is now. a rainbow will not be as pleasant and appealing as it can be. From generation to Generation music always been an escape, a wave of freedom, a mountain of courage, an ocean of love. Let's embrace this gift of life to love one and another cares for one another, support one and another and most of all respect one and another. I want you to know that I love your comments, your critics, your support, your insults. I wish and hope that you are a better positive human being that yesterday. Peace is priceless, love is magic, honor is the key of fortune, try it and you will experience amazing thing, your breakfast will never taste so good, the sun will be brighter and the air that you breath will be much lighter, please try. Make music the beginning of something aspiring, something good and something more beautiful than life itself, please take good care of yourself.
