The blocked for this dude like the greatest special teams unit in NFL history because Idk how the heck his slow ass went 100yrds lol
Lord Clarke that was some of the best blocking I’ve seen I mean they were taking cardinals players out like dominos
it wasn't special teams it was the defence but yes one of the best D units ever
#21 on the bench gets in larry fitz way and causes this touchdown... yes im still upset abt it
@@samuelyoung2671 There's another reason to be ticked off. Watch it again and you'll notice that on the return of interception by Harrison, that Steeler player #56 engages in an obvious block in the back at the Cardinal 32 yard line? It shouldn't have been a touchdown.
Maybe the Steelers win, anyway, but it should have been Steeler ball on the Cardinal 42 yard line after the penalty. I NEVER have heard this mentioned. It's actually seen better on another UA-cam clip here: ua-cam.com/video/RqnQwKAI4OE/v-deo.html&feature=emb_err_watch_on_yt
Because antrel rolle couldn’t stay off the field
this is for me the best interception ever harrison caught it and brought it home but each and every player blocked for him and brought him home just amazing this is TEAMPLAY
Except Ryan clark
Yes, the greatest freakin play in Superbowl history
@@keithadams6030 no it isn't bro
@@keithadams6030 I saw it on the telly, it was amazing to watch
@@prodigycby5784 it is the greatest Super Bowl int and one of the greatest plays in the Super Bowl
Legend has it that he's still on oxygen to this day.
If they didn’t have oxygen there his ass would’ve been headed to the E.R lol
@@kamdaddypurp3341 I'm sure they always have oxygen or actual Emergency services on standby
and if they don't they should
Not true. He just tackled some guy on a commercial again.
Why is this still funny three years later.
Hahaha best comment
No matter who else he played for, James Harrison will always be a Steeler!
I prefer to remember him as a Patriot.
This is one of the greatest plays in NFL history, maybe THE greatest.
Well then the Tip toes inbounds catch by santonio Holmes
not the best
@@kamerons76 that's not the best
@@prodigycby5784 definitely is
@@kamerons76 The David tyree Super Bowl helmet catch play, and so
many more plays were better.
I remember watching this game not believing what happened right before half time. This is #1 in my opinion.
SHOULD BE
man i wish i was watching that superbowl because yea like you i would be like WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED man that was amazing
greatest interception of all time.
There is no way Butler's pick should top this. Another great part was the SNL skit a week later where they had some dude impersonating Harrison, still panting & taking oxygen because he was still out of breath from the run back a week earlier. =) (I heard James wasn't too happy about that one...)
That was the greatest defensive SB play in my opinion & Santonio Holmes' touching catch was the greatest TD catch in SB history also
Watching this live was unreal. You immediately knew this was one of the greatest plays. It's wild that the santonio holmes catch is in this game as well. Just one of the best Super Bowls in general
3:39 EA's excuse to put Larry and Troy on the cover at the same time for Madden 10 😂😂😂
U made me go to the exact sec for a little shove?...
still don't understand why they did that lol
Man oh man great memories!
Harrison has Mentioned that He was not supposed to drop back in coverage. He said he kept getting late to the QB so he decided to drop into the zone.
It's also a play a couple other teams used to score against us. Once James saw how they were lined up, he recognized it could be a quick slant like all these other teams used to feast on us all season. Incredible instincts.
Ive from Pittsburgh and have been watching the Steelers my entire life, and this remains the most nuts play Ive ever seen, never forget it.
This is old news, but that pick & td won me $150. I don't care what the man says, it's the greatest interception in NFL history.
Nah Ed reeds
This is by far the #1 interception of all time. It is probably the best play of all time.
The final jewel in his crown for 2008 defensive player of the year.
This was the best blocking I’ve seen in my life-I’m sorry but this is number one.
Best Pick Six in NFL history.
Number one INT in NFL history
Ed reed 100 yards
Ok listen, this is the most unbelievable, amazing, and all around best/greatest play off all time. Like seriously, a heavy linebacker/DLine hybrid that runs slower than your grandma took an interception 95+ yards for a TD with no time left on the clock.
Fitzgerald wouldve chased him down if antrel rolle wasn't in his way
ahhhhh, thats football
Thats his teammate on the sideline...
DeSean Jackson #Jaccpot #0ne0fone #1hunna he shouldn't have ran out of bounds
Underman he never ran out of bounds troy pushed him out
Salty cardinals fan.Aint nobody gonna catch up to my boy Harrison
Bro this had to be the greatest moment of my life. I’ll remember it til the day I die
I'll never forget us jumping up and down, screaming as he ran. Amazing game.
Worst moment of mine
One if my worst lol
Omg it was so funny when Al Michaels said Harrison like 15 times xD
Should be number 1 bruh. Pete Carroll's gift wrap to the Patriots shouldn't be #1
Chippy Ass are you stupid? Like seriously? How fucking stupid can you be?
Bostonzo B lmao salty ass Patriots fan. Go deflate some footballs boy
Chippy Ass D Halls 4 ints in a game should be number 1
Donald Flump L. That wasn't gift wrapped. Butler made a unbelievable clutch ass play.
"salty" go back to reddit.
Immaculate interception
What’s number 1? This is the most important play in NFL history... Maybe not the “greatest” but the most “valuable.” It was a 14 point swing. He had to get in the end zone because the clock had run out. And then taking into account how the game ended... Extremely vital play. What could be more vital to a game? And it happened in the SB...
The only way it could possibly be a crazier play is if it happened at the end of the 4th instead of the half. But then Ben and Santonio wouldn't have had to connect for one of the greatest passes and catches in NFL history.
should be number 1
I still thought they were gonna catch him like 7 different times😂😂😂😂😂
This is not just the greatest interception of all time, but the greatest play of all time.
i couldnt stop laughing at the last highlight clip where it shows literally all of his homies diving to block someone. idk why it was hilarious.
The greatest play in Super Bowl History. IDGAS what anyone says.
The thanks should reallly go to those blockers😂they was DETERMINED
First time I noticed that Troy Polamalu had a key block at 3:36 which pushed fitzgerald out of bounds
That's a block in the back, it's illegal, along with a few other blocks in the back, also illegal.
jamesNewman
jamesNewman not everything is a block in the back. Learn football
@@MysticMungusSlungus oh it was a push
Now that you mentioned, that was a Block In the Back he did on Fitz
3:27-3:55 = Awesome!
This was my First superbowl I ever watched with my family. Not only was it the first time we ever had BBQ together but I becoming Arizona Cardinal fan as well. Once I got older I got back to my roots and stayed a San Francisco 49ers fan!!! I really wished Kurt Warner would've won for them though 💯💯👍
This was amazing to watch
Legend says it Kurt Warner still has nightmare of this.
Love love top 10 lists they have
3:33 haha love when qbs try to tackle
Legend has it james is still out of breath
4:08
Steps on dudes leg
With cleats😱😱
If Fitz's teammate on the bench hadn't been in the white lines and blocked him, Fitz would have caught Harrison easily. This play has so many nuances that make it amazing to re-watch. I was rooting for the Cardinals but man, there's so much to digest here.
THE BEST INTERCEPTION IN MY LIFETIME
Fun fact: my dad was watching this game on his TV way before I was born, and he said he was SCREAMING HIS HEAD OFF
Dam you’re young
Fitzgerald was blocked by one of his own players on the sideline otherwise he'd have had em. So much of this play is absolutely bonkers.
It's a Superbowl record: Longest interception return in Superbowl History, 100 yard TD by James Harrison.
For me, best defensive play in super bowl history and I'm a Bills fan
The best intereception ever
Mom: Why don’t you go play with the neighbors kid?
The neighbors kid: 3:57
Funniest part about this play is the best block came from Antrel Rolle. Totally got in Fitzgerald's way on the sideline, otherwise he would have caught Harrison well before the goal line..
STILL the best damn football play I've ever seen....
This is easily the greatest interception in super bowl history
Nah Malcolm Butler clears. The game was far from over and they still ultimately had to drive down for a TD to win. Malcolm Butler making that play decided the outcome of the game.
@@goldenstatewarriors9418 cute response
Should be number 1
SHANE THE LEGEND butler.
Bostonzo B ya that's what it's gonna be but it's not right
Bostonzo B butlers wasn't that good
Bostonzo B
Butler made one hell of a read to intercept the pass
But Harrison's pick 6 was way better than Butler's pick
Harrison-1
Butler's interception-2
HOW IS THIS NOT #1?
If Troy didn’t push Larry Fitzgerald, he would’ve caught up to Harrison. You can see he pushed him out of bounds into his teammate on the sideline. Thank you, Troy Polamalu!
Many good blocks by the Steelers on that play but on the runback if you could guess who polamalu was going after who would you think? Fitzgerald, if it wasn't for polamalu knocking Fitzgerald out of bounds which then caused Fitzgerald to run into one of his teammates on the sideline more than likely Fitzgerald catches Harrison before the goal line. Then breaston hits Harrison forward over the goal line while Fitz was pulling him down. I've watched this game and replay so many times and it was definitely the immaculate interception. That same play could happen 20 times or more and Harrison wouldn't make it. Football miracle.
Most people don't know Larry would have caught him but his teammate on the sideline was in his way smh
And, he didn't .
I am a Browns fan, but I can even admit that I was shocked and amazed watching this happen live. I too wanted him to get caught and I just couldn't believe what had happened. Great play.
Me too. Had money on AZ and was pissed but had to marvel at that amazing play. 14 point play in the super bowl. Time had expired. It's take it to the house or bust.
As crazy as malcom butlers interception was, this is the greatest play. If Marshawn Lynch fumbled at the goal line that would’ve been crazier.
Coming to a playoff game near you, and pissed, from the look of it.
Just realised how slow number 74 on the cardinals was like yeesh getting outrun by Harrison
The blocking was Steeler football 😍
This no 1 by far
#24 mvp... Gets the block and turns the momentum of it into a push that propels Harrison forward to victory.
🐐
This is #1
Greatest INT return of all-time.
Larry Fitz would’ve gotten to him way before the 1 yard line too but his teammate on the sideline was in his way and he bumped into him.
I remember this 🥲
As a Steelers fan i remember screaming at the top of my lungs when this happened
Steelers fan here - For life.
James said this should be number 2 in NFL before the “immaculate reception” BUT should be Number 1 in superbowls!
Watch AZ #21 standing too close to the field and basically BLOCKS Larry Fitzgerald
Larry legend would’ve got him .. but that dummy basically made us lose the superbowl
3:54
1:23 that not the longest return in SB history, didn't Jacoby Jones have like a 108 yard td vs niners?
Sami Shamroukh yes
Sami Shamroukh i think they mean int return
Sami Shamroukh jacoby jones play was a kick off return not an interception
Im talking about james harrison
Yeah you're right, they specifically said longest play too. But maybe this was before 2012 or something idk?
He runs like Adam Sandler in happy Gilmore lol 😂
I'm a huge Steeler fan, and I love this play... but I never before noticed the block in the back, by Woodley at the 30 yd line. yikes
To this day what really ticks me off is Larry Fritzs runs 40 yards out of bounds. There was no way he would have made a play if he had stayed in bounds. I thought the only way you could run out of bounds if you were pushed out and he wasn't. What a mess the NFL would have had if he made the tackle on Harrison
I feel bad for Larry, as he pulled Harrison onto him, which allowed him to roll into the endzone instead of being down at the 1.
I know everyone mentions the guy on the sideline blocking fitzgerald, but you can see he was not going full speed at 3:32. if he was would have caught harrison a lot earlier
I admit that I am a Steeler fan. But even if I wasn't. This is better that Butler's pick. I mean knowing when to improvise, catching the ball and running the 100 yard dash with the opposition on your tail the entire time? Making RB moves when you are a LB. Plus, potentially a 14 pt swing? A no brainer at #1.
RC throwing his body on theground to block that linman slowed larry down just enough
3:25 - just watch the MAYHEM!!!! Biyahhhhh!!!
It looked like #56 for the Steelers threw a block in the back. I am surprised that the Cardinals didn’t complain that a penalty should have been called.
What was the flag for on Harrison's run back
I believe face mask on the offense.
Steelers fan here, great play! But it does seem like there were several illegal blocks from behind during the run back, no?
How is this not number 1
Here we go Steelers...here we go!!!!!!!
What's crazy is that if Fitz had been able to pull Harrison down maybe one foot earlier and the Cards gone on to won, it would probably be the greatest Super Bowl play ever. Football truly is a "game of inches". But still, the fact that Fitz came all the way back down field and almost made that play, within inches, speaks to his quality as a football player. A remarkable play on both sides though. But Fitz doesn't get enough credit and even in his failure, his effort on this play surpasses what you expect from even most Hall of Fame players.
The fact Harrison outran the entire team, including wide receivers, with no time left on the clock, and absolutely had to score, makes this the greatest play of all time on the biggest stage. 14 point swing in a tight game.
If Polamalu missed the push on Fitz, Fitz coulda had a better attempt on trying to stop Harrison.
If I were on the field on that play, I would’ve chased him down in time!
Larry Fitzgerald ran out of bounds and came back in and still couldn't catch him up in time, and we'll never know about you either.
Mr. Harrison
Welcome to New England!
basketball fan here. got interest in football and really trying to understand the terminology of it, can someone tell me what a pick 6 is exactly? ty.
Why this interception and play is not #1 I'll never know. This is the single greatest play you will ever see in any game. I mean not only did he go 100 yards he was a linebacker
Important point: James Harrison played RB before he was a LB.
is that not a block in the back at 1:10?
Larry Fitzgerald makes that tackle before he score if number 15 doesn’t make that hit from behind right inside the 5 yard line
Arguably the greatest if not the most memorable plays in NFL History period
James Harrison played RB in his younger years.
I guess he really wanted that big mac
