I have had my 1996 X300 for more than 5 years and it is by far the best JAG I have ever owned. Every time I take it out it amazes me how comfortable it is to drive. It just floats along the road unlike many modern car I have driven.
Hooray! Same as mine! I also have a 1995 but an ice blue sovereign. Looking forward to learning lots from you. There aren’t many UA-camrs with an X300…
Nice job! Cleaned up very well. I’ve been on a journey restoring my first Jag. 2002 Vanden Plas Aspen Metalic Green with NED interior. It only had 46,000 miles but I’ve been restoring it to like new condition.
We had a 1997 X300 in Anthracite/Coffee with about the same milage. We sold it earlier this year to fund the purchase of our 2006 XK8 coupe with 53k miles. Brings great memories especially seeing you checking for the rare tool kit in the empty plastic tray in the engine compartment! I looked for a year and half before I found one.
Just picked up a 96 X300 3.2 Sport project in UK. It's for my father in-law, he has always wanted a big cat, now has the space, time and money. I have had quite a few over the years plus classic cars and bikes, so he is happy to take the plunge with me on call. I bought blind as the price was right and it is rust free, low miles full history and never been welded unlike some I have seen for sale at £2500-5000. I got it for £700. If he has to spend another £1000, it's still going to be a very good example and should give him years of fun?
I've had my 95 XJ6VP from new. Awesome cars. Mine is likewise an early 95 because it too does nit have the glovebox. Gloveboxes were added mid year 1995. Jaguar screwed up with the XJ8 in 1998 with a lot of problems! I too have had the "airbag" light. For me, it was the airbag module behind the glovebox. It's a blue Ford part!
Think it's looking really good already and for a old car i think it's fantastic, I'm talking 20 years ago but last one i had was a 1986 xj6 had it for about 5 years and only paid 350 pounds for it, wish I still had one unfortunately can't afford to run one now, but keep up your good work love seeing your posts take care and be happy
Im going to look at a x300 sport in the morning. Ive had quite a few in the past. I said thats it no more jags. Carnt help it, just love them. But my bank balance dont. Well you are only here once. 😂
Hi mate, I think I live not far from you in Sydney. I have a X300 XJ6. Do you have any good contacts/wreckers that have parts? I need quite a few interior parts. Thanks!!
Hi Tim Geoff Sara (Jagara) in Taren Point maybe able to help. There is also a bloke on market place that has some wrecking but I have never used him. Send me an email thejagmandownunder@gmail.com and I'll find a link
I would say "pretty good" is an understatement! Looks incredible considering what you started with. First; what did you use? B; what brand of wheel? And third; where is the music from?
Thanks Doug. Just standard auto buff compound, my 35 YO Ryobi with a heavy duty sponge pad. Paint still needs further work. Has to be UA-cam music any other breaches copywright!😑

Got my eye on one thats been sitting along time out on the street as well, great project..
We will see LOL
Great, just when I was beginning to worry you didn't have enough Jags kicking about. This one's already started to clean up pretty well.
Good call!
Diamond in the rough! Was sure there was going to be a body in the boot... Cheers for the video.
No problem 👍
Great video. Keep up the good work. Really enjoying your channel.
Stick bamboo to hold up the roof lining!

Am I correct in thinking the sport model was the budget version.?
Looks like it will come good with some weekend fettling.
Xj6 was the entry level Sovereign or Sports were optional
Black jags look so sinister! Debt collectors dream
Wish I still had her!

I think an x300 is the smart choice

AU$350 for a battery? Crikey!
look forward to seeing your journey with the XJ6!!! Please check out my channel, I have a '95 JX6 Sov.! Cheers!
Pity you don't seem to be buying any more of these. Guess the air bag incident put you off.
I will if they are a bargain. The Jaguar bank account is overdrawn at the moment so have to offload a few first. X300's are a great car
