- In this video, I’ll be doing a ownership review of my outgoing XJ. In my last drive, I’ll explain the reasons why I’ve sold it and things to watch for when buying one.

personally for me this is the best looking 4 door car ever made 👍 when electric engine swaps will become widely available, that's gonna be my chassis for a swap ;)
Now that’s a great idea!
Id rather have it refitted for Hydrogen.
My first intention was to get my engine running on LNG gas, but our Government, does not support the benefits of driving on LNG, concerning the huge road tax.
This road tax , is the same when using LPG, showing our Government don't give a real damn about the environment, but just want to benefit on EV car buyers...in the Future..
I got 97 plate x300 3.2, awesome
Jaguars are just the finest cars
They are indeed
I bought an XJ6 Gold in 1994 and then traded it in for an X300 in 1997. In 2017 I bought a second hand X300 for just £2,000 as it was the best car I have ever owned. They do not need a lot of time or energy, you just need an experienced independent Jaguar mechanic. I spent another £1,000 having the car pressure cleaned underneath and then tidied up and rust proofed. It costs me about £240 a year for servicing and MOT and it drives like a dream. There is not a car like it and the straight 6 is bomb proof.
The experienced independent Jaguar mechanic is the clue. Mine based in Doncaster is so good that owners of Jags from all over the UK bring their cars to him.
I used to work 5 minutes away from home when I bought the car and sometimes I commuted in it. But, a month before I sold the car, I changed jobs and started to commute in a different county, 45minute drive each way. So, to leave a car with a Jaguar specialist, would mean losing a day of work to pick up and drop the car and then getting transportation back. And transport lock I rubbish where I live.
Once sorted, they don’t cost much to maintain, but that’s with most cars that are well kept. Mine, needed much more than what was shown in the video, so it would have been cheaper to sell it and get another car. But, I also had another car coming in, so the XJ had to go.
Like I said on the video, I would have another X300. It’s a great car and really enjoyed driving it.
I got a 1997 LWB Sovereign which has less than 40000 miles on the clock. I would love to have a word with your mechanic if possible.
It's a shame you're selling it but I can see why, and I'm so glad you bought it, you gave it exactly the love it needed.
Hey there. Yes, and I do miss it, but it went to a home. The car went for less than £1k
The End
I would like one again... but tidier example though!
Well, you gave in a Ford for another Ford.. just better! 😛🚀
It's a Jaguar.
Well, you could say Portchester 944 is a vw, cos it's got vw components, an audi has vw components, Portchester boxster has vw engine, all car manufacturers have components from other makers, even mercedes and ferrari, ferrari have fiat components
Henrique, this one is still very much a Jaguar, despite being owned by Ford at the time.
@@GentilsGarage yes jaguar for sure, Ford input is only door handles and switches, design and shape is jaguar
X300 didn't have any Ford components of any note.
Engine was the Jag AJ16.
Platform was carry-over XJ40, which was launched pre-Ford ownership.
Only Ford engine used by Jaguar are the diesels, which are all Ford/Peugeot and the X-Type/S-Type V6s, which had Ford blocks.
V8s and later V6s (In X350 & F-Type) were Jag engines.
I currently own a jaguar x300 1996 , it's a blessing and a curse getting onto 30years old it's going to have it's issues , it's hard to find non service parts , garages don't want to touch them and are useless I had an electrical issue and 2 mobile mechanics and 1 garage condemned the car to scrap , luckily I found a jaguar specialist it was only a sensor it needed , these cars are a joyful headache
Indee, couldn't agree more
@@justin5833 “Joyfull headache”😂 Perfect !
