Guys the bloop hit was more important than the homerun because the years where he's driven in a ton of runs he would fight off a two-strike pitch and look like he was shortening up a little bit just to make contact and he would have hit little flares over the second baseman's head over and over again and that's a good sign. You can't look at it like he hit a bloop instead of a line drive what you have to do is with two strikes he hit a flare behind the first baseman as opposed to striking out and that's how you accumulate 120 RBIs a year. I'm a baseball guy but I coach softball and I preach to my girls that if you're having a tough time you have 2 strikes and if you have to get somebody in from third base put a premium on making contact in any way you can and usually good things will happen. Fellas what you have to realize too with our inconsistent Bullpen I'll take a 3 run bomb with a 6-1 lead to reduce the odds of the bullpen potentially blowing it. Has he had a tough year absolutely but give him some kudos for playing tremendous defense this year the best of his career by far.
People forget that ALONSO'S defense has been solid, saving his infield teammates a lot of errors.
These guys stink. Let’s not forget both these clowns were SCREAMING literally screaming, that Lindor was one of the worst signings in MLB history
Pete's late 3 run homer was not meaningless; only after the fact. You never know with our bullpen. We can never get enough runs.
What is Pete Alonso supposed to do? He's been awesome since coming up. How many players have hit 35 homeruns every year since coming in the league. 5 years strong minus the covid year. He's been the leader for years.
Pretty much forgetting Judge has done it get a clue
No he hasn't at all. Judge as great as he is has had numerous health issues
@@Tony.1974Who gives a fuck about what Judge has done?
Acuna looked Good 🔥 LGM
Sal you’ve brought this team down worse than Pete has ever have. We didn’t forget ‘22
He had a monster game, nobody's overreacting. This is such a bad take. 3 for 5 with 5 ribs and 2 runs, 7 TBs. But you need to talk for 5 min about how he's awkward lol what are we doing here
Who's the landmass on the right... I had to lower the volume.
Oh the passion... as if this was a world event...
Take a breath blue shirt
Pete in the bottom of the 3rd with bases loaded, brought home Luisangel & Iggy, and moved Marte to 3B with a pop up in the outfield that brought the game to 3-1. It's not a HR but he got the job done! Pete did help the team. It hasn't been highlight reel impactful like HRs would be from him but it was significant in helping this team score runs against the Nats, that they should easily beat and they did. I'd be more worried if the team looked half asleep like that have at times playing lesser teams like the Nats and Pete had a great game last night. Will Pete rise to the occasion now as the impact guy? I sure hope so, but no one is a guarantee, not even Lindor if he wasn't injured and I hope Pete ends the season with fantastic numbers that contribute to team wins and postseason play.
The Mets have had only a handful of power hitters like Pete in their history, sign him.
BT spent all season saying Alonso isn't fit to burn, now all of a sudden he's a superstar 🤣 total CLOWNS these two. Entertaining at least
So the clutch hit 8:38 the bloop. That’s not enough to get it going? Does it have to be a hr to “get it going”
i don't like Sal's constructive criticism sure he's telling the truth but overall don't knock Pete for getting it going. he had to start somewhere i mean what do you want him to do he started the season poor and now he's playing better give him credit.
Sal is right in big spot Alonso is no show and if Mets make it in Oct he’ll be no show again
@@Tony.1974 to be fair let's see what he does before we say what he can and can't do. sure the history is not good in big moments but he's starting to build momentum, let's see what he does.
@Tony.1974 except when the one game they win in WC '22 Pete and Lindor were the offense
Jeez Sal has been down on the Mets this whole year! Putting down every little nitpick with the team.
Its going to be a photo finish for the Metsies.
Another subway series 😮let's gooo yanks 😅
Mets are bums
Yankees all the way
We swept yall bumbs this season remember
At last, ALONSO who has been looking like a little KOALA, has looked like the "POLAR BEAR!!!
F A N , let's go Mets! Da-da-da
Remember,Baby Huey is a Choke, and will continue his perennial late season slide.
A solo home run with the game on the line, means more than a 3 run homer with a 6 run lead.
fyi im in the south n i come here for ny radio on my Yankees n all im getting is mets wildcard push which is cute lol also i saw a met fan down completely decked out in mets gear
Ur from the south and your a Yankees fan. Frontrunner lol
by that logic you're saying there's no dodgers fans in New York
@@JuiceWRLD999westhollywood they played in Brooklyn why do you like the Yankees simple your a frontrunner lol
so nobody from LA lives in NY gotcha 👍 u r a Mets fan so u r naturally salty n pissed off I get it n it's definitely not like 1 of our division foes is in the deep south it's not like y'all play in Atlanta 10 times a year
And being a so called frontrunner in the south wouldn't it make sense for me to be a bandwagon braves fan considering their recent success this a big country bro there's die hards everywhere except for the Mets lol
Sal’s whole Schtick is being attempting to be contrarian. He did the same exact thing with the Knicks. I feel sorry for BT.
Here are some stats to consider with Alonso. He has struck out 159 times, 2nd worse since his rookie year. He is also slugging at .470, which is the worst in his career. I don't see him turning this around and making an impact to get the team to the playoffs.
Hey, sal rememberhe had 5RB.I's out of the 10 runs.Come on man
Dear Pete, stop using your off season to practice for homerun derbys and try some winter ball.
He has the same numbers as Lindor
Lindor batting 270 with 30 steals and a gold glove lmao Pete’s batting 245
That's why Lindor shouldn't lead off. Lindor, Vientos and Alonso are the only everyday players who have met their standards. Pete's RBI totals are what they are because Vientos and Lindor are clearing the bases very often before he gets to bat. Pete has more doubles this year than in his entire career 31 with 33 hrs he shouldn't have under 90 RBIs. He's been mismanaged all year.
Pete 33 HR 86 RBI
Lindor 31 HR 86 RBI
One guy is the MVP
The other guy supposedly is having a bad year.
Technically, Mets are above the dbacks since the Mets have the tiebreaker
"I'm not knocking him." No, sure you're not.
“meaningless” is some bozo shit to say. the man had a great night. i’m over these guys on the microphone running their mouth
4:50 he slammed down the hammer. He will continue to go on a tear. The “he ain’t clutch” is getting boring. 3 run nail in coffin. Now let’s c if he keeps it going in next 3 series
Nope
In what world is 6-1 over? Sure, it’s not the MOST clutch hit ever. But it wasn’t until AFTER that HR that the game was over. Pete hasn’t been up to his usual standard this year, but that means you’re comparing him to himself. He’s been great as a Met overall despite the down year. Still 30+ HR and around 90 RBI in a DOWN YEAR. He absolutely does need to step up this last week and a half and hopefully a postseason run. I do hope they resign him.
Mets blew 5 run lead a month ago and 4 run lead on Saturday
Pete only worries for himself heading to free agency I'm tired of the strike out May he go elsewhere 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
He just led a team meeting right before yesterday’s game but he only cares about himself?? You fans are so quick to turn on their players than wonder why players leave
No hair podcast
Sal you are the worst.....This gives Stank the Tank vibes man. We're excited to see him get going. Who cares the score??? Just shut up and enjoy the team for 11 more games......FOH
Sorry. Too early to make that statement.
Sal would say it's a homerun against just the nationals if it was 1 to one. He is never happy I can't stand him gives mets fans a bad name!!!!!
Alonso is very over rated in my opinion.
Hopefully they let him leave at the end of the season.
He is on the downside of his career anyway in my opinion.
"stupid tests"
this is just straight bullshit. Every hit in a playoff race is HUGE. Stop acting like he's not making an impact.
Harris John Smith Susan Lopez Daniel
“We know Pete leans on cliches. It is what it is” These dopes are so unbelievably cringe.
Alonso cool duffy dude but he couldn't carry himself let alone a team ,hes done in my opinion, gooo yanks
Pete is having a better year this year than last year. He has 33 hrs and 30 doubles. His RBI totals are not his fault. He has been mismanaged. Lindor and vientos are hitting before him and nimmo has been terrible. When he comes up to bat, there is no one on base so many times its ridiculous or no one is producing. Therefore, they pitch around him.
This is bullshit. As simple as that.
Alonso has had 302 PA with men on. He is hitting .214 with 75 strikeouts.
I love Pete, but don't lie about his year.
No he hasn't he's had roughly 120 at bats this year with runners in scoring position ALL YEAR. He's had 649 ab all year. Your telling me that just under 50% of his at bats were with runners in scoring position. Pull his baseball reference.
@@waxpackbriefcase3673 go argue with Baseball reference. Over 300PA with a man on. Period.
Your delusional 120
I actually think it's slightly less about a month ago it was 105.
All of this “meaningless” run talk is bullshit. If he didn’t come thru wit that bloop single and they lose the game then it would be an issue. If he doesn’t hit that home run and the Nats come back then all of you are killing him. Maybe let’s not rag on players that produce?
This guy is a clown. Complains when we’re in a playoff race that’s really tight. I’ll take 3 run bomb all day. More insurance runs the better.
Clark Jessica Thomas George Allen Karen
Another terrible take by Sal, nothing new to see here.
Even marginal players have good games. Pete needs to put multiple games together to be relevant. Can't erase the 150 games leading up to this point, but it's time to put the team on his back and make us believe again.
Nope he’ll 0-4 tonight
