impressive play there. Choosing the sword, keeping the staff and giving up the shield means that it will be easier to gain offensive abilities in the beginning, magical abilities around the middle of the game, ( for this phase of the game I'd recommend taking any chance you have to get treasure), and defensive abilities around the end. The best kind of playthrough I suggest is to "Dark Souls" each battle. By the way, supportive abilities are not affected by this.
