Biblical presuppositionalism gives the honour and glory of our salvation in Christ to God. He, through his Word and Spirit, 'opened my mind to understand the Scriptures' (Luk24v45). 'Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see!'

For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.
    Jeremiah 7:5-7

A Presuppositional Apologist 'Travis' mentioned was K. Scott Oliphint. When he said the name I didn't understand it at first.

I've been enjoying this series. This is good and explains the Presuppositional approach well, but the purported weakness can be addressed pretty simply. Here are two reasons why Islam and Judaism cannot be accurate revelations from God or true systems.
    1. It is the Bible that reveals the God who grounds the preconditions of intelligibility. And the Bible contradicts the Talmud and the Qur'an. Therefore the Talmud and the Qur'an cannot be true, because if they were, then the Bible would be false, which would negate the preconditions of intelligibility.
    2. This is an argument I'm still developing, but it is only the specific Triune God of Scripture who can ground the unity-in-diversity of the preconditions of intelligibility. For example, take the laws of logic. They are three, yet they are each equally-ultimate. No one of the laws is more important than the other three. They are perspectivally related; in a sense they are "one" and yet they are certainly "three." This one-and-threeness corresponds to the tri-une nature of God. A monadic God like in Judaism and Islam couldn't be the basis for "triune" laws of logic.

The strength of presuppositional apologetics is that is circular and circles are strong.

A virtuous circle and or axiom because by trying to disprove it you're actually proving it. You're borrowing from the Christian worldview by using things such as logic, knowledge, truth, uniformity in nature etc... All of that can be accounted for in the Christian worldview and not the atheist worldview. You can also expose other theistic worldviews that claim to believe in other gods by exposing their logical contradictions in their worldview... With no contradictions in the Bible Christians have the ability to prove their position by the impossibility of the contrary where as no other worldview cannot. That's a fact!!!

Nate Perez Truth is self evident and only the Christian God is the only one explanation for the existence of truth. But it is circular to presuppose God and trying to show His existence. I took what is best from presuppisitional Apologetics, namely, the fact that without God it is impossible to have truth but my starting point is not God but truth.

6] Jesus saith unto him, *I am the way* , *the truth* , *and the life* : no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. [7] If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
      John 14:6-7

@@rocio8851 The Christian God has a monopoly on truth. When we learn something, we are thinking after God's thoughts in that all truth that we learn is already known by God. So I wouldn't say your starting point is truth, you are looking at the source which makes truth possible. If we think to a toddler asking his or her mom "why" repeatedly, the ultimate "why" stops eventually at the Christian God if we really think about it. God's unchanging nature is what determines truth in reality, not an external source of truth that He must appeal to, whereby He would not be the ultimate authority for truth anymore if He did appeal to an external standard. I think that's what you were trying(or meant) to say by saying you start with truth.

I like around 3:10 where he lists religions "closer to home" that pre-sups can disprove - he seems to stop himself say from saying 'Judaism'.

The atheist automatically rejects all evidence leading to the conclusion that Theism is true,
so we Presuppositional Apologists tend to avoid presenting evidence to the atheist, just as a wise man
will avoid presenting pearls to swine. However, we Presuppositional Apologists love the evidence,
so we will often discuss it with our fellow Theists.
We Presuppositional Apologists are not anti-evidential -- the atheist is anti-evidential.

So ... 1GodOnlyOne ... you don't believe in the God of Abraham?

I think 1GodOnlyOne is mistaking the God of Abraham with Abraham Lincoln. I too wish they would clarify their statement. Well, not really since the statement is 4 years old.

There is only one God, and he is not Abrahamic.
