    Could it be that many cultures have a story of a great flood because there really was a great flood?

      Nah, that would be too logical...

      There have been many great floods.... even since we've been alive... they aren't talking about a single global flood... there's no evidence for that.. this stuff is just nonsense as always taking the bible literally is always a mistake.

      When the people were dispersed from Babel they took the flood legend with them. Over time and generations the story morphed into each ones local flavor. Very simple!

    I find it interesting that Josephus comments on the Pagans' understanding of the flood and notes in passing their view that it was localised and doesn't disagree with them.

    The geology of the flood became controversial in the 19th century in order to oppose the "millions of years" view which was being introduced by Charles Lyell.

    whatever the extent of the earth which was destroyed is that same earth that was created a couple chapters earlier.

    "Has the View of Noah's Flood Changed Over Time?"
    Sure, once it was believed to be literally true, today we know it is a myth, adapted from an older Sumerian source.

    I find it interesting that the comment that the theology is more important than the geology and this is why. Reasons to believe by Hugh Ross has focused on the "Geology of Space" as his proof of creation. However he has not focused on the theology of the Universe as he states should be done with Noah's account. I'm not trying to be critical about their work because I think he may be on to something. I'm being critical of his lack of knowledge from a scientific methodology to Supernatural events that "show no evidence" It's either you believe in God or you don't. I happen to believe in God, and I support their efforts, but fine tuning of their theory needs to take place.

    You guys should make a nice looking office or living room set for your videos! Weird lights in the background are kind of cheesy! haha. But I'm sure they're easier to change around

    This is going to sound really base, but shouldn't we be trying to find a way to marry science to Christianity and not the other way around. Isn't this how the fathers/mother's of modern science did it. I find it hard to accept that there is zero evidence for a young earth or even that GOD could have created things with the appearance of age. I mean we as humans can create Diamonds in minutes, GOD couldn't do that with other things? I am not a complete young earth creationist, which is why I am here, but these videos seems to be reaching a bit.
    Lean not into your own understanding - a great person said that once 😛

      There are several ways of combining what we read in Genesis with what we see in nature. No solution thought out so far makes all the pieces fit together. The theory of apparent age is one of the most interesting appoaches, though. But it leaves the flood itself mostly unexplained. If all the sediments we see around were there from creation, where then are the traces of the flood? Could the whole world go under in a massive flood without leaving any marks on the surface of the earth? Yes, it could, but it would envoke a miracle.

      There is exactly the same amount of water on the earth today, but the Bible explains that trenches in the oceans opened to allow the water to flow off the land. The flood was caused by underground water coming up, not just rain falling down, this is clear from the Genesis account. Maybe you should read what it actually says before you before you dismiss it.

    • @tedbishop
      @tedbishop 4 роки тому

      @@johnwilliams1459 I know exactly what I am talking about. Any water that comes from underground has to be pumped or overcome gravity. The spouts are driven by the heat that causes steam, not more water. As the steam comes to the surface more liquid water from above ground flows in to replace it. There has never been one drop of new water created from dry air. Every word, in every religion, is a made up explanation by idiots trying to look smarter than they are. No preachers ever walked on the moon. They do not understand any science. We have achieved immortality. That will be announced when a plan is devised to keep the bad people from living forever. You, like the other bible thumpers believe the bible contains some truth.

    No flood ever happened. There is not enough water to cover the earth.

    • @tedbishop
      @tedbishop 4 роки тому

      @TWS Van No water came come to the surface unless it is displace by the same amount of water under the surface. That makes a world wide flood totally impossible. That makes the bible the biggest lie in history. Only an idiot would believe one word of it.

    • @tedbishop
      @tedbishop 4 роки тому

      @TWS Van Those articles are from the creationist that want to believe in the Noah story. They have ignored all the scientific evidence and made up a huge lie. There is not one drop of new water on Earth. Water seeps down through crack in the surface. It heats up and spews back to the surface. It is not new water. The religious nut cases think that they know more than all the geologists. That's why all religions will eventually disappear.

      @TWS Van The sub surface water is resupplied from the surface water. Every drop removed is instantly replaced from the oceans.
