You listen to this song in the car with friends driving around and singing. You listen to this at a Green Day concert when you are waiting for the band to go on stage and sing along with other people in the crowd. You listen to this when your at a karaoke night at your favorite bar and sing along. You listen to this in the morning when you are getting ready for the day and want to see what reactor says they have never heard it. You listen to this when your getting ready for bed and want Freddie to sing you asleep. You get the point.
Wow 😁 hahaha that's exactly what I was thinking 😂
I’d love your comment if I could.
Whole wedding parties plus all their guests sing this song melodramatically on the dance floor. Every Halloween and New Years Party I’ve been to has at least one portion of the night where BoRhap takes over. A group of friends and I did a lip synch air band (w/sets and costumes) contest to BoRhap (& won 🥇 prize). Awesome road trip song. The operatic sections are amazing played over a remote forest lake early in the morning and under the stars at night. Olympic skaters skate to it and when the Olympics come to London, Queen performs it in their opening ceremonies.
And don’t forget the movie of the same name that came out just a few years ago.
And you also listen as you watch your favorite Mike Myers movie!
Ooooo yeaaaaa, that is so true👍👍👍👍👑👑👑
EXCELLENTLY PUT!
In a stadium, with 80.000 other fans singing with them.
Picture it: 1977. A 7 year old little black girl first time hearing this song. My introduction to Queen. My mind was blown. From the point on every birthday and holiday all I asked for was Queen albums. And yes, you do listen to Bohemian Rhapsody at the cookout 🤣
Freddie was a musical genius. it was always a journey. He was way before his time.🥰
Very true.
Welcome to QUEEN...this was actually 3 songs Freddie was working on but decided to combine them that gives you bohemian rhapsody...Queen is Freddie Mercury-piano/vocals, Brian May-guitar/vocals, Roger Taylor-drums/vocals, John Deacon-bass/some back vocals...all four wrote, you can not box Queen into one genre of music, they've done it all...STONE COLD CRAZY live at the Rainbow, an early tune, fast..DON'T STOP ME NOW, another great one..Queen's music is used in commercials, movies, t.v.shows, sports...WE WILL ROCK YOU and WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS are just two...ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST...many artists in hip hop, rap, pop, rock have sampled Queen...
This is a masterpiece. This is anywhere, anytime music. I measure my friends at their ability and willingness to sing along to this song. The emotion, is the point.
BoRhap IS a great litmus test of a friendship. You are right!
Jeeez yes , if a friend didn't rock out to BR we'd be having a chat about things.😂🤘
Edit : Masterpiece is exactly the right word.
The was no autotune back then. These men actually hit those high and low notes. Freddie Mercury, RIP, was classically trained with his voice. He was a genius with creative writing and a hell of performer. I saw them live and they were great! Freddie was a fabulous showman. All 4 members were very talented.
and autotune is about the worst thing EVER. well, that and musicians with bad tempo.
You should check out the Green Day concert 2017 in Hyde Park. The whole crowd is singing this song. This is 43 years after this song was released and 28 years after Freddie passed away.
In the UK it is considered appropriate to listen to queen anytime, but at any sort of function Bohemian Rhapsody will start a sing along as there is barely a person over the age of ten in the country that doesn’t know the words!!
Here in the states also
Yep, any primary school child knows the words to this classic
Same in germany! My Kids are 6 and 8 and can count to ten in english, but they know every word of BR
And same in the Netherlands, Belgium, France... basically anywhere.
Queen is a Journey. You'll never be able to take. RIP Freddie...
You just listened to one of the best songs ever! I listen to it in any setting. Love ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Queen!!!!
Freddie's version of an opera. It's magical. Everyone knows this song word for word. We love you Freddie and miss the shit out of you.
Many people know Queen songs, they just don't realize they're from Queen! We Are the Champions, Another One Bites the Dust and We Will Rock You are such gigantic hits, most people on the planet have heard them but don't know who the artists are. Glad you got to Bohemian Rhapsody, it's iconic.
Every time I hear someone say that they've never heard this song I want to tell them to buckle up! When it came out we listened to it anywhere anytime for any reason. 🙃
Facts. 😊
And we still do!
I’ve lost count of the number of times I have belted out this song in the grocery aisle at the store, and I’ve never sung alone.
This is a masterpiece written by Beloved Freddie I have been a fan since 1974 saw them in 1978 NYC and im 79 years old and a big Queen Army.
Queen fans know every word to this song. We sing along every time we hear it. Doesn't matter where we are.
U just listened to one of the most famous songs in rock and roll history my friend, such a classic!!!
Please do Queen Somebody To Love live in Montreal! Not everyone gets Bohemian Rhapsody. And that’s ok. But this is just one song of theirs. Their sound is unmatched by any other band in history. I’m sure you’ve heard at least a couple of their songs…. We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, Another one Bites The Dust? Freddie Mercury (lead singer) has the best voice. The Queen catalog is so unique. Each song has a different sound. The band also includes Brian May on guitar, Roger Taylor on drums, and John Deacon on bass. Each person in the band bring their own unique talent to every song they do. PLEASE give them another chance. You won’t regret it!
we are in a state of listening to a story somebody´s telling and grasp the different emotional states they have to go through.
You can enjoy this song anytime/anywhere you want!!! That's the freedom of music.
You need to listen to it with stereo headphones, different experience
Queen, another level. Past, present n future!!!
Bo Rap should always be listened to with headphones and listen without interruption to enjoy the journey. No matter what you know Queen you just don’t know you know them. This song is in a dozen movies, commercials, covers etc.
That’s really what a musical Rhapsody is, a piece of music of indeterminate length and with no formal structure, comprised of a number of different musical ideas. A Rhapsody is all about dynamics: light and shade, high and low, loud and soft, happy and sad… It’s a story, a journey and usually quite the musical ride. ❤❤❤
BEST elucidation of musical Rhapsodies. 👏👏❤
Probably what made Queen music so unique is that all four members were educated, professional musicians and all wrote hit songs which made them diverse and unique from other bands at the time. Bo Rap was and always will be a masterpiece. I miss hearing thought provoking lyrics and music that changes, surprising the listeners and tell a story.
Such a classic banger. I love watching people hear / see this for the first time!
Hard to find people who havent heard it anymore though, hu. Once I was in line in McDonalds, & the man in front of me kept asking me quesions about the menu, cuz he had never eaten at McDonald's before!! We just kept looking at him in fascination, like he was an escaped convict or something lol. Point is, occasionally we do come across an outlier, & I agree, they are fun to watch!
Before MTV, this was one of the very first videos, put together by the band themselves.
This video helped launch the entire music video industry and MTV. truly the catalyst ... meaning music execs watched it and the idea of MTV and making elaborate music videos for entertaining the public bagan.
Originally these were done just to show internally to get the music put on radio and television.
It went to #1 in the charts in 3 decades - first in the 70's when it was released - then in the 90's when Freddie Mercury died - and again when the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody" came out in the 2010's. Remember to wear headphones ! Wellcome to the rabbit hole of Queens .
It's the fusion of rock and opera (Rock Opera), brilliant both in concept and execution...
Please see this as an opportunity to release yourself from the shackles of musical genres. You've just experienced the most tantalising taste of the wonderful variety of music that is in the world; all you need to do is give it a fair trial. Broaden your horizons and be enriched!
I usually don't believe it when people say they've never heard this before because... how can you NOT? But this was legit. Which makes it fun for us! I got the LP "Night at the Opera" when I was 11 in 1975 (my parents thought it was opera for kids), and I played this and several other tracks until I wore them thin. I recently told my 11 year old grandson that knowing BoRhap from top to bottom is one of the necessary skills in life, and then my daughter and I proceeded to sing the entire thing word-for-word (including guitar solos). There are videos of 60,000+ people doing the same. Queen has hits in most genres, so if this wasn't your bag, it's worth it to keep going.
next: "somebody to love" live montreal 1981 🙃
Love this reaction bearing in mind this doesn't seem to be your normal music genre. This was Queens breakthrough song after another didn't make it. They felt they had to take a chance and put something out that no-one had heard before. A UK DJ, Kenny Everitt, played it on his station (despite being told not to because it exceeded the normal 3 minute slot for songs) and the rest is history. Queen became one of the most famous rock bands in the world and is listened to all over the world ever since. If you want to listen one of the best live sets ever I'd recommend Queen at LIve Aid 1985 - a mega charity concert spanning both UK and the USA.
Live Aid was MASSIVE Concerts simultaneously 72k/Wembley Stadium, London, 89k/JFK Stadium,Philadelphia. Concerts were held in Soviet Union, Canada, Japan, Yugoslavia, Austria, Australia, & West Germany. The largest satellite link-ups/television broadcasts of all time; an estimated audience of 1.9 Billion, in 150 nations, watched LIVE... Almost 40% of the entire world population 🌍
One of the best songs ever written
The first produced music video in 1975. Shocked a lot of us back then too. Up till then the only "music videos" were clips of tv shows or live concerts. I still say this is where Mike Nesmith of The Monkees got the idea for MTV.
This song is a sing along at virtually every occasion on the planet
I'm sure you've heard Queen songs, like We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions at sports games, Another One Bites The Dust.
We are everywhere and anywhere when we listen to this. ❤️✌️
*A once in a lifetime masterpiece, that I am so glad I was alive to hear it in real time.* Thank you for such a thoughtful & provocative reaction* ❣
Welcome to Queen,,, MASTERPIECE. That guy's are legend and Freddie is a really true legend, 👑👑👑🏆🎼, R.I.P MY DARLING💗💗❤️❤️
Absolutely anywhere and anytime is the only appropriate time to listen to the legends that are Queen. ❤
I could listen to this song 5/6 times a day and I would still sing along and jump about. It's absolutely wonderful. In fact I'm just going to listen to it again without your reaction.
It's a Rhapsody!! The best musical rock performance of all times!!
definitly this is one of the best songs ever and fredy, by far the best star that has ever walked on this earth. There are severl interpretations and ideas around this song, but what really is insane is something i just found our by accident. If you speed up to 1.5 the reproduction time, you can here very clearly some reverberance that fredy makes with his voice...its absolutly insane!!
A song that will forever stand the test of time! I never get tired of this song.
Your watching a musical masterpiece
The most awesome singing of Bohemian Rhapsody, other than Queen of course came in 2017 when 65,000 Green Day concert goers in the UK sang the entire 6 minute song together not messing up at all while waiting on Green Day to start. There is a video of it on here. The fact that Bohemian Rhapsody came out in 1975 and 42 years later 65,000 random people knew ALL the lyrics to it speaks for the rock opera's popularity, and longevity. I imagine some of those people were not born yet when the song came out. Queen and Freddie Mercury are still the best! RIP Freddie.
Getting ready for the day,
Cooking,
Cleaning,
Parties,
Family functions,
Driving,
Sipping drinks,
Reminiscing,
Watching reactors for their 1st time hearing BH,
Sitting on the porch,
Etc.
That's where we ALL listen to Bohemian Rhapsody.
Anywhere and everywhere it's gueen*71.doesn't get any better. Long live queen 🤘🤘
What you just witnessed is...art.
This was so great to watch. It brought the song’s and video’s newness back to me.
It is a gripping storyline, eh?
ya dude, real music isnt just stealing samples from people who actually have talent, This is a masterpiece from people who have real talent. No auto tune, no fake bullshit, just real, actual talent
You are jamming with your best friends driving around at night singing this at the top of your lungs!!!!
I have the perfect picture for where to listen to this song
Whenever my marching band would go out for a competition, we would play and sing at the tops of our lungs, every last one of us, and we wouldn't be able to hear the song over ourselves. Imagine a school buss passing by you and you just hear a discordant reenactment of this song. It was magical.
Amongst my friends and family this song could be played at any random time. It is considered a classic. We have often sang along with the song. I suggest watching the video of the crowd for the band Green Day singing along to this exact Queen song!
It’s a masterpiece god bless QUEEN 🙌 🙌 🙌
You listen to this when you have the desire to hear something moving! Phenomenal talent!
It's based on opera in a rock band context. All you have to do is sit and listen and let the emotions flow through you.
Age 13 seeing this on the tv for the 1st time (no video to record it) having to wait for a whole week to see it again, fast forward 47 years and I'm still listening and still in love with Freddie and the song
Absolutely amazing performance from Queen they were the best band ever, and have sold over 300 million albums worldwide, and , there greatest hits album is still the best selling album of all time in 🇬🇧 Uk there home country, Queens live flamboyant performances are legendary, and there Anthems amazing, Freddie Mercury the lead vocalist is considered to be the best frontman of a band ever, Michael Jackson collaborated with Freddie Mercury on a couple of songs, Michael Jackson was a huge Queen fan and would attend a live Queen concert when he was able, the guys from Queen were well educated, Freddie Mercury had a degree in art and design, Brian May has a PhD in astrophysics,John deacon a degree in Electronics, Roger Taylor a bachelors degree in biology, all the members of Queen have written no1 hits and their musical instruments capabilities amazingly they all gelled well together, great reaction thanks 🙏
It's rock and roll on the scale of Opera. Freddy's words exactly
YOU NEED MORE QUEEN
Rocking out with your friends singing in the car at the top of your lungs. That’s where you listen to it. One of the best songs EVER!
You listen to this song anytime, anywhere and with anyone. A timeless masterpiece, rock opera. 🌻✌️🌻
We are at all the places you mentioned and more. This is THE Song that can be played in any location at and occasion. I can open up my windows, blast this song into the neighborhood on full blast and they will complain it wasn't loud enough.
That's beauty of this song, you can listen to this EVERYWHERE! and any when.
So many memories from that era. Your reaction was VERY good. gj
Great reaction to probably the best rock / opera song ever, Cheers !
In order to understand this masterpiece, you have to delve into Freddie's background. And his life is a facinating, remarkable story of a fascinating and truly remarkable man.
This is a master piece, they fought to make this cut, no matter where you are you can lisfent to this and enjoy
Wow 🥰 beautiful Freddie ❤️ Freddie Mercury ❤️ liked subscribed 😁 more queen reactions please 😍
Sing at home, in the shower, with friends at a bar, with friends at a party, driving alone, driving emwith friends, I sang it in choir in the 9th grade! We had the best coolest teacher & the parents loved it!!!
Every wedding, every kareoke night, every kids party in the UK... its always time for BR
This song is a metaphor. Freddie was coming out at this time of his life and he was struggling to cope with his sexuality. He refers to killing a man, and apologizing to his mother, but what this really means is that he feels like he's killed his old self and he's trying to explain that to his mother and apologize for that. He's trying to "leave you all behind and face the truth", which is his way of saying, I'm not the man everyone thinks I am and I'm not the man I used to be, I'm coming out and going to face the truth. The song gets more complicated in the operatic verse where he talks about the devil and Beelzebub (another name for Satan and one of seven demons of hell, who represents gluttony and envy) and asking them to "let me go" "NO!! We will not let you go". Again, Freddie's way of realizing and expressing in a song that his sexuality (as it was seen in those days) was going to send him to hell.
The music, the theatricality, the technical genius and the production is second to none. The other significant element of this song, is the video. This was the first video of it's kind - no other band had ever made a single "movie" to promote a song or an album before this. This was ground breaking and led to every other band on the planet attempting to replicate this process and reap the rewards. This video and others that followed led to the creation of MTV and VH-1 and an entire industry to promote music, beyond just the albums themselves.
You listen to this song at any time of day, any place. I've even moshed to this song at a show. Also, seeing a bunch of metalheads belt this song out was the craziest thing. It's a universal song. They've a huge catalog of good ass songs too.
You listen to this song when you want to hear one of the best songs in the history of music. And I'm from P.R. I like salsa and reggaeton 😂
A BOHEMIAN IS SOMEONE WHO JUST BLOWS WITH THE WIND WHATEVER IS WHAT IT IS AND THIS IS I WOULD SAY A TRIBUTE TO THAT WAY OF THINKING
Suggestions for you specificly=
*Stone Cold Crazy* ... in a way simiar to rap at least in a challenging way to imitate
*Somebody to Love - Live at Montreal 1981* ... superb example of Freddie's singing talent and switching between singing and playing piano (smoothly switching between standing singing walking around and returning to the piano mid-song not missing a key) and the drummer taking over the lead vocals at the end while Freddie uses his voice for other unique things.
*You Take My Breath Away - live at Hyde Park 1976* ... this is all Freddie just piano and his voice to 150,000 people while the band took a mini break. It was what turned me into the obsessed fan that I proudly am.
*White Queen - Live at the Odeon Hammersmith 1975* ... this shows Freddie singing through his reserves (lung capacity) and his piano work ... to me he looks like Mozart performing a classical piece smack dab in the middle of a rock concert (the type of people who would NEVER listen to classical) and everybody is enthralled. It is NOT a classical song - it is modern rock.
*Who Wants to Live Forever - live at Wembly Friday night July 11, 1986* ... the most passionate and powerful performance of this song. When he's up on his toes LOOK OUT the power of his voice followed by the vibrato (style of singing as your vocal cords vibrate rapidly) is like no other. MAN !!!! perfection !!! Here is the UA-cam link to the specific version I'm referencing. ua-cam.com/video/MOhuK7aZayw/v-deo.html
He won’t like it, but I bet you do - any of Freddie’s duets with Montserrat Caballé (starting with Barcelona). ❤
Bohemian Rhapsody is in essence an entire (early) Queen album squeezed into a single song. They didn't make "concept albums", where one song naturally led the listner to the next. With Queen, you go from hard rock to vaudeville to ballad to pop ... All their songs were very different (but most of them also distinctly Queen) - and this song is, basically, four short songs glued together into a single long one.
In the 70’s when it was out, you’d listen to it in the car and jam out. If it was a group of you guys, you’d all be moving like you were in the middle of the song, in unison -while singing it loudly lol
Anywhere, everywhere!
Radio 1 in UK started transmitting in 1960s and this is still the top played record when it was released it was the longest single by about 2 minutes.
OMG when you made that Warriors reference I was on the floor🤣🤣And you’re right-I wouldn’t have made that connection but yes!!🤣🤯 Don’t hold me to it, but I’ve heard the song is about his coming to terms w being a gay man and was tired of pretending to make those who thought otherwise comfortable instead of his own peace. Please correct me if I’m wrong 😬 The reference to ‘just killed a man’ was referring to the persona he lived to make others happy. Again, PLEASE right me if I’m wrong about anything!
We were probably in somebody's basement smoking something and listening to all the new vinyl. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Eagles, Journey etc. We had the best music and didn't even know it.
You should react to the live aid concert. That'll chuck a few astonishing facts about queen at you. 😁😁
We are in high school, listening to this on a cassette on an Alpine system driving around in a 1972 LTD high AF.
Put this in context.. Other than 10CC no one was doing this multi tracking. This is the song that brought innovation in music techniques. It also created Music Videos as they couldn't do the middle section for the Top of the Pops programme so filmed a "video". The length made it not acceptable for radio until the public got it before the music industry. This song opened the door for musicians to let their minds explore and push boundaries. Yet 50 years later, music is..????
You listen, EVERYWHERE! It grows on you, believe that. And, you will sing your little heart out!
Welcome to the world of Queen!!!! They are the best!!!! You’re in the car jammin the fuck out!!!!
I learned that in school in the 90’s school music class in Dublin hahah, my favourite ever, I was 12
I take all 5 segments as one story 1) of a care-free kid who got seduced into murder by a girl in a gang or something. He feels they will kill him, 2) he is so sorry and cries out to his mom. He doesn't want to die, but sometimes wishes he was never born. 3) He wants free from the gang - let him go! NO, NO, NO, NO,, NO, NO!!!! We will not let you go! 4) So then he's pissed at the girl and feels, "You can't do this to me baby." 5) But in the end he is resigned, "Noting matters anyway."
There's a whole world of songs, of just such "True Talent". Pre digital....
Song played in the car in Wayne's World. Classic
Congratulations, your the first person who doesn't get the song. And said he would never listen to it again.
Queen set world record live performance crowd numbers in countries that didn't even speak English. Freddie was the most visible member but all four were brilliant and ground breakingly creative musicians. Highly recommend you watch the film Bohemian Rhapsody for a quick overview of Freddie and the band. Also would recommend you watch their performance at LiveAid, arguably the best 20 minutes of live music ever.
When do we listen to Queen? A better question is when do we not listen to Queen. And as for at what kind of function do you listen to Bohemian Rhapsody….let me answer that this way: if you don’t play that song at pretty much any kind of gathering, you are missing out on a terrific opportunity for everyone to stop whatever they’re doing and sing along with the band, start to finish-cuz that’s usually what happens when people hear that song! Maybe you haven’t heard that song before but numbers don’t lie; most everyone else has, and they love it. So play it for your guests even if it’s not your favorite; they’ll thank you for it. Numbers don’t lie; give the people what they want!
If u want your mind blown, watch their Live-Aid performance at Wimbley Stadium from 85
Queen 🙌
In your car on a long trip. Best place to listen to this song.
Yes we’re sitting at the crb bumping Queen!!!
