With Rip Taylor, Jackie Collins, John Salley, Bear in the Big Blue House, Chuck Woolery, Kathleen Madigan, Randy "Macho Man" Savage", Jay Thomas, and Martin Mull.
I saw this one episode where they ask Bear what would scare a bear. Bear guessed taxidermists and Bergeron said the answer was Republicans. Bear then said "Im a little afraid of them, too." Never knew Bear could be funny.
If you have the Macho Man, why in the world is he not center square? Let the man talk! Seriously, the fact that no one ever put Macho and Bear in the Big Blue House together in something is beyond me!
It's fun scrolling through the comments seeing how many people are watching this video because of Bear from the Big Blue House, whether it's because of Defunctland of not. Heck, Bear got the funniest joke. And they say puppets are just for kids..
Man, Rip Taylor likes his confetti, doesn't he? He throws it around like he's still hosting the "$1.98 Beauty Show". For those who don't know what that is, it was a show he hosted in the late 70s which was a spoof on beauty pageants.
I was sleeping over at my grandmas house one night and I used to keep the TV on while I slept (on mute of course) I woke up in the middle of the night and this episode was on for some reason idk why during those hours. I'm thinking "am I just dreaming or is Bear on Hollywood Squares?"
Miss this show thank you so much for uploading this episode with randy savage one of my favorites hopefully there will be more rare videos of randy uploaded one day on UA-cam
In an alternate universe somewhere.. there's a bear in the big blue house episode where Randy Savage is guest star.. we were robbed that it didn't happen here.
That Mercedes SLK 230 was one of the two starter cars in Need for Speed: High Stakes. Almost everyone (myself included) instead opted for the slower but more stable BMW Z3, since it was required for a special event, too.
@1goldenroad It was either at 4 pm or 6 pm. It would mostly be on at 4 pm during the early and late seasons. I do remember it being on at 6 pm during the fall of 1999. This episode most likely aired at 4 pm. I think issues with ratings between this and the local news alternated the air times during the run.
24:10 Smart of the contestant to ask if "retain water" was equivalent to "go without water"! They're not quite equivalent, so it was important to confirm that!
@bluebear1985 - except unlike his time on Super Password and/or probably on his guest appearances on Match Game '90, he made it a recurring thing during his appearances here.
TUrns out the game show fans and wrestling fans have a bit of overlap. Johnissoevil from Invision used to mention it a lot. Seems as though we're about due for a new version of Squares. Would Tom B. be coaxed into another game show, however?
"Watch C-SPAN" LOL at Bear.
I saw this one episode where they ask Bear what would scare a bear. Bear guessed taxidermists and Bergeron said the answer was Republicans. Bear then said "Im a little afraid of them, too." Never knew Bear could be funny.
Nice how they included various muppets in here.
Childhood
TAINTED.
Stay in law school
Jeff Leonard I'm gonna take that as a lesson. Nights I can't sleep, just turn on c-span and I'll go out like a light xD
Bear waving the first girl away is so friggin cute. Every game show needs a muppet of some kind, it would be impossible to be upset about losing
Out of curiosity, anyone else come here from Defunctland?
Yep
That's me buddy!
took the words right out of my mouth
Yeh
I'm here completely unrelated, but today I just found that channel. What a coincidence.
Macho Man AND Bear in the Big Blue House?!
I LOL'd at Bear's explanation of CSPAN.
It is true though.
If you have the Macho Man, why in the world is he not center square? Let the man talk!
Seriously, the fact that no one ever put Macho and Bear in the Big Blue House together in something is beyond me!
Clearly they were not THINKIN! THINKING! THINKING! OOOHHHH YEAAHHH
Very Good, Bear !
Tom berguron, bear In The big blue house, and Randy savage =childhood
Seeing Rip Taylor, Bear (Noel Macneal), and Randy Savage act like bros makes me smile
Awesome to see Bear, but am I the only one whose just as oddly nostalgic at these old commercials? I still remember that old Empire animation.
Most of them are so fuzzy to me and strangely I can remember
I remember. I watched this series as a kid, same with Wheel, Jeopardy! and Whammy! The all-new Press Your Luck.
It's fun scrolling through the comments seeing how many people are watching this video because of Bear from the Big Blue House, whether it's because of Defunctland of not. Heck, Bear got the funniest joke. And they say puppets are just for kids..
Nope I am Here for Kathleen Madigan!
I only remember this episode Bc it had bear in it and I loved his show as a kid
Am I the only that caught the part were Bear was hypothetically elected in "Bear in the Big White House"?
I wish he was
Yes you are the only one
I’d vote for him.
2:10 is pure gold
Mr Speaker the great state of...zzzzz lol
I used to watch Bear in the Big Blue House when I was VERY little! Seeing him on this show is just 100% bizarre to me.
darthstarkiller1912 I could be wrong but I think they had Alf on there too
@@DuskLegend they did! Big Bird was on here and on an older version and I think Kermit was on here once, too.
Dark Dragon of Gaming p a couple times actually
@@ChillGamerBlue Don't forget Miss Piggy! She was on there too!
Bear in the Big Blue House was my entire childhood!! #BringBearandtheBigBlueHousetoDisneyPlus
It's coming next month! (October 2022!)
Wish granted
Objective complete
Man, Rip Taylor likes his confetti, doesn't he? He throws it around like he's still hosting the "$1.98 Beauty Show". For those who don't know what that is, it was a show he hosted in the late 70s which was a spoof on beauty pageants.
I was thinking the same thing lol
23:51 I love the suave lick and stick when he got called
I was sleeping over at my grandmas house one night and I used to keep the TV on while I slept (on mute of course) I woke up in the middle of the night and this episode was on for some reason idk why during those hours. I'm thinking "am I just dreaming or is Bear on Hollywood Squares?"
So glad to see Kathleen got to check one off her bucket list
Having Rip Taylor to throw confetti at you, would feel like I would be a winner.
Treelo: Thanks for watching Hollywood Squares.
Bear: And thanks for being my friend. See ya soon.
Did that actually happen during this I skimmed the ads
Mr. Speaker, the great state of (snore)

Miss this show thank you so much for uploading this episode with randy savage one of my favorites hopefully there will be more rare videos of randy uploaded one day on UA-cam
So Bear is a political commentator now? My childhood has been bust wide open.
BNSF1995 it’s different for me I loved bear in the big blue house. Now I love politics and watching c-span.
It’s not Disney he doesn’t have to filter himself 😂
Rip Taylor Tossing Confetti we will miss you 17:40
This is one of the few specific game show episodes (or weeks) I remember watching as a kid. I remember Bear on this show.
2:34 "Mr. Speaker, the great state of... 😴"
I know none of these people except RAndy Savage and the muppet bear! Also Bear got the biggest scream out of all of them!
I Remember Watching H2 Hollywood Squares When I was 9 Back in 2002 It Came On WDAM 7 In Hattiesburg, MS At 4pm Just Before Jeopardy Comes On At 4:30pm
cool to see bear and macho man interact directly @24:00
Bear in the Big Blue House!!
I remember Bear in the big blue house when I was little
Oh goodness, I remember this episode. xD I only caught it on tv somewhere around 14:48
Bear!!! 8D
2:20 They announced Bear in the Big Blue House: A Bear for All Seasons (2003)
Bear and Macho Man was seated next to each other... WILD!
I for some odd reason slightly remember this a long time ago.
Bear is a legend 😂
In an alternate universe somewhere.. there's a bear in the big blue house episode where Randy Savage is guest star.. we were robbed that it didn't happen here.
There's another alternate universe where Bear challenged Macho Man for the WCW championship.
The true robbery.
@@brendanb2982 There would also be a universe where Bear became a part of the NWO and tag teamed with Macho Man
Childhood memories man I was 3.
22:59- Best I've heard.
Just for the record thewhammy 83 Jackie Collins also appeared on the show in November 2002.
Nice!
Interesting to see Rip Taylor lose his hairpiece on another game show. He did the same thing on Super Password in the 80s.
I used to loved near.
Man I miss Bear
That Mercedes SLK 230 was one of the two starter cars in Need for Speed: High Stakes.
Almost everyone (myself included) instead opted for the slower but more stable BMW Z3, since it was required for a special event, too.
Fame is fickle. Nearly all of these people have been long forgotten.
12:56, best part of the video.
I LOVE HOLLYWOOD SQUARES !!
Macho Man has faced the Bear from the Blue House and Spider Man.

19:47 Weather Promo Including Steve Baskerville, Mary Kay Kleist, Ed Curran, & Late Jim Tilmon
Does Jackie Collins age? She was 66 here!
Bear also showed up on Whoopi's last episode, no other eps with him seem to be on here, though.
Apparently there were multiple airings but I searched for hours and couldn't find anything.
I believe Fun and Games Channel has the Wednesday episode of Whoopi's final week
23.00 "You are a bad boy" GO JACKIE!
Also if I'm right, this episode aired the week of January 12-16, 2004.
DefunctTV brought me here.
I'm just here for Bear and Macho Man.
Bear is my childhood
Cspan i've seen it.
24:10 Smart of the contestant to ask if "retain water" was equivalent to "go without water"! They're not quite equivalent, so it was important to confirm that!
aired on WBBM cbs 2
@1goldenroad
It was @ 4pm here in Chicago during it's last two years.
7pm in New York (1998-2004)
Yeah it was on at 6pm until syndie Millionaire aired on WBBM. But I do recall Hollywood Squares airing in a late night slot during its last season
bruh the old commercials😅
Tom Bergeron hosted this successful CBS game show.
oh my god...
bear, macho man, AND tom bergeron?
@bluebear1985 - except unlike his time on Super Password and/or probably on his guest appearances on Match Game '90, he made it a recurring thing during his appearances here.
....There's not enough Macho Man in this.
Honestly if I was the announcer and read Bear in the Big Blue House I’d say it in a very confused tone
Has anyone even seen the one with Gonzo from the Muppets on it? That's the only one I can never find
Did WBBM keep HS in prime access for the whole run?
Rip Taylor hosted The $1.98 Beauty Show.
28:05 Star on star lol
5:55 Jenn(ifer) Convertibles? That doesn't look like James Murray at all!
