Your music had me suspended between heaven and earth... At the close of the video, my breath returned and my face felt the warmth of tears. Thank you for sharing such beauty.
WoW! This must be what Heaven sounds like! It seems impossible for the human voice to reach such heights of sensitivity and perfection… With your voices you touch the excellence of sublimity! Thank you for sharing your talent with the world and for the enormous sacrifice it takes to maintain it at such a high level.
Absolutely breathtaking. The high G at the end is so impeccably executed it sounds almost like an overtone, especially with the absolutely stunning taper and release. Thank you all for an incredible musical gift for the holidays!
More Collaborations between Ringmasters and Voces 8 please! I can only imagine what it must be like to make music like this together. Each of you are such a blessing in this world!
A beautiful arrangement and a wonderful collaboration on one of my most-favorite Christmas hymns. Michael Praetorius will never really be gone from this plane as long as people sing his songs as exquisitely as this.
and he surely were to be missed!! If you and anyone else do like Praetorius as much as I do, I warmly do recommend the everlasting reference recording of Paul McCreesh‘s „reenactment“ of a Lutheran Christmas Morning service Praetorius could have held…. my alltime favourite Christmas album 😅 If you hadn’t liked or known Praetorius beforehand, you might love him after listening that musical splendour: ua-cam.com/video/wb9lIMxq2yE/v-deo.htmlsi=9lbbiyB4f37EAlNb And more suitable for this advent tide: ua-cam.com/play/OLAK5uy_kS7_3t1QHLQxMZl-LRAiSe_3G1QYlQuNY.html&si=ooYB8nmmI8r6GRt0 An Excellent Praetorius recording to me as well
I've performed this arrangement for orchestra and it was stunning in the strings-- only Voces8 could pull this off as a sung arrangement 👏👏👏👏BRAVO! As always!
My heart was in the clouds while listening to this! Such heavenly voices and what a magnificent arrangement! Voces8's and Ringmasters' next heart-melting piece after 'Shall We Gather at the River'! They nail it again as usual❤❤❤
The arrangement blows me away. The mixing of harmonies and the background hum was otherworldly. Perfect baritone and bass notes for the piece. It's the overall effect, if you just close your eyes and take it all in and let it penetrate. The high note at the end just killed me. It was all over after that.
Added 9th, multiple clusters and the raised 4th (B natural) addition in the clusters after the second sentence is stunning. Then before the last part… a heavenly breath! What a stunt Jan Sandstrom! Truly and profoundly beautiful. Congratulations VOCES8, Ringmasters and Jan Sandstorm for such a wonderful Xmas 2024 gift.
An impressive performance and very beautiful to listen too! You might want to look out for the Windsbacher Knabenchor - they dropped an upload some years ago with German text and a very good performance, especially considering their singers are all still going to school…;)
I have heard this work many times but this performance is simply magically perfect. It brings tears to my elderly eyes. I wish all involved a very Happy Christmas!
Absolutely stunning! I can't wait for every video. Your music overtakes me with emotion that I cannot always describe. Fills me with love and happiness. Thank you
I am using this recording in an advent meditation for our church as I feel it is the nearest we will get, this side of eternity, to hearing the heavenly hosts! Last month I introduced them to ‘shall we gather by the river’ also sung with Ringmasters. The two are so different but so perfect on their own way. Thank you so much ❤❤
This is absolutely lovely! It somehow reminds me of the music that plays at the beginning of the final scene of Mel Gibson's the Passion of the Christ, when it's Easter morning and the burial garments fade away. I suppose "the rose sprung up" at Christmas so that it would eventually rise up on Easter morning.
Absolutely wonderful!! As a swede I appreciate you are singing in swedish, quite good. And Jan Sandströms arrangement is a wonder in itself. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ❤to all of you Svara
Jan Sandström composed the work in 1990,[1] one year after the success of his Motorbike Concerto. He took the four-part setting of the Christmas carol Es ist ein Ros entsprungen by Michael Praetorius (1609) as a starting point. Line by line, he placed it in slow motion within an eight-part a cappella setting.[2] Choir I in four parts, singing Praetorius, can be performed by soloists. Choir II in eight parts is hummed throughout.[3] The way of combining a chorale as a cantus firmus with different musical material is similar to chorale preludes, but in this case the cantus firmus is quoted not only in the melody but a full harmonization, and the contrasting music is given to voices. Their humming renders the work suitable for international presentation.
Det är en ros utsprungen Av Jesse rot och stam Av fädren ren besjungen den står i tiden fram en blomma skär och blid mitt i den kalla vinter i midnatts mörka tid
Thank you for your wonderful music. This resonant harmony is a model for raising the vibration of love in the 5th dimensional ascension. This is something we would like to practice in our Lightworker community.
Nothing on earth more beautiful than the sound of VOCES8. May all who sing and write with this magnificent group enjoy the happiest of Christmases and the coming new year for giving us their gifts go exquisite music. 🎶
Vielen Danke ❤
I sang the original Praetorius in high school. That was...a lot of decades ago. This arrangement was delightful - nostalgic, but also entirely modern. Absolutely sublime. Thank you.
This is now my favorite version of this song (of course Voces8 must perform it). Its streaming, chant-like quality is a meditation all its own. Fantastic!
Spectacular recording, thank you team for making the first day of Advent special! I love the version of this arrangement done by St Paul’s Cathedral Choir on their Love Came Down at Christmas recording, also magical and haunting as performed in the vast cathedral setting.
It moves... it really moves. Ooh, those icy harmonies are just glorious. This vibe elevates the world... keep elevating.
This is WHY people were excited to go to church … it stirs your soul… sooo deeply
Mesmerizing, hypnotic, captivating. You can just see the commitment and concentration on every face; they are transported and they transport us.
Welch Engels-gleicher Gesang!! Lieben Dank dafür!
Wonderful arrangement of one of the most beautiful Christmas songs in a perfect interpretation. Simply touching.
The world's best vocal ensemble... Hands down. Always makes me cry. Thank you!

Ein meditatives Meisterwerk!!!

erhebende, spirituelle Musik -wunderbar
Unfassbar gut! Perfekt gesungen, genial arrangiert. Herrlich!
Your music had me suspended between heaven and earth... At the close of the video, my breath returned and my face felt the warmth of tears. Thank you for sharing such beauty.
Yes. Same exact experience.
I need better speakers. 😉
3:23 Never heard that high G sung so softly 😍
I thought it was an overtone at first!
The harmonies are just so beautiful. The high G at the end is just wonderful.

Gorgeous, dreamy and transcendent. What an absolute treat. The high note at the end was breathtaking.
This is such a living sound. One of the best things I have ever heard!!! Thank you all so much. 🥰
Absolutely breathtaking. The high G at the end is so impeccably executed it sounds almost like an overtone, especially with the absolutely stunning taper and release. Thank you all for an incredible musical gift for the holidays!
That is the glorious voice of Andrea Haines. I lost it, right there at the end. 😢
I had wondered if the high G was an overtone or if someone actually sang it.
More Collaborations between Ringmasters and Voces 8 please! I can only imagine what it must be like to make music like this together. Each of you are such a blessing in this world!

So true! Great Music will exist as long as we keep it alive!
I've performed this arrangement for orchestra and it was stunning in the strings-- only Voces8 could pull this off as a sung arrangement 👏👏👏👏BRAVO! As always!
It was always meant to be sung. That’s why it has beautiful words.
This is such a beautiful gift to us for Advent and Christmas. Thank you 🙏🏼
And that high note at the end, sung by Andrea: goosebumps.
14 voices! What a treat. That D major chord (3:06) has never been so magical.
I'm amazed at how human's voices can be this magical and heavenly sounding. This is so good! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
My heart was in the clouds while listening to this! Such heavenly voices and what a magnificent arrangement! Voces8's and Ringmasters' next heart-melting piece after 'Shall We Gather at the River'! They nail it again as usual❤❤❤
Keep coming back to this. Every time I find my mouth open. Like trying to catch your every breath. Just beautiful.
This is most glorious-what an Advent gift to us all. Bravi tutti!

Absolutely! Andrea just puts that note out there it sneaks up on us!
Sublime! I admire the breath control. Magic.

A truly wonderful performance of this beautiful song.
What a beautiful, haunting arrangement! Appreciated the camera work as well. Thanks!
My thoughts exactly…beautiful and haunting!
Thank you for 4 mins of sublime musical tranquility 🤗
The song of the northern lights... so wonderful to see you all listening to one another so intently!
So beautiful!! My goodness. Best version I’ve heard. And the pronunciation👌❤️
An impressive performance and very beautiful to listen too!

And Happy Christmas to you as well!
Yes!!!! Good to see that this arrangement, well known in Sweden, now reaches a wider audience with this heavenly combination of ensembles!
Herrlich! Man spürt richtig den "kalten Winter" und sieht und fühlt die zarte Blüte aufgehen... Und das Ganze mal auf Schwedisch - herrlich!! ❤
Absolutely stunning! I can't wait for every video. Your music overtakes me with emotion that I cannot always describe. Fills me with love and happiness. Thank you

The choir 2 part sounds like musical glasses. What a treat this was!
Incredible harmonics and perfect breath control. Outstanding
My gosh! Stunning is the word. Just stunning. That's how heaven should sound.
Wirklich nicht schlecht und eine hervorragende Neuinterpretation des Welthits von Michael Prätorius "Es ist ein Ros entsprungen".

This above is of course from Wikipedia, thank you!

Amazing arrangement and a wonderful performance. I think my pulse slowed to 40 bpm!
This is a beautiful modern take on old perfection.

Von ganzem Herzen vielen Dank!!!
Wow. We were singing this song at church years ago but the musical rendering here is another dimension. Love it.
This makes my heart so full
I sort of feel like I just dreamt that whole thing.
The harmonies were so soothing. Thanks so much
So much care and attention to detail!
Very special sonic quality…
Just love it.
