This recording will be brilliant a thousand years from now. Amazes that technology allows us to record this kind of perfection in almost every detail, visually and tonally. All of these timeless masterpieces performed and recorded with such impeccable quality, it’s a gift to humanity.
This is the best recording of this piece to date and probably ever. Its arrangement with both the SSA + SSAA and TTB + TTBB lends a richness that enhances this piece in all the best ways, and the alternation gives it a much needed variety. Every chord and phrase has been though through and masterfully woven- but most amazing of all, it is clear and audible at the first listen. It has a gentleness, a power, a richness and a thunderous quality that seems to wrap up every human emotion and send it soaring to God. I was moved first to stop it to find headphones, then restarted. Goosebumps preceded a rising sense of being overwhelmed by the sheer emotion and finally I burst into tears because of the undefinable beauty that overflowed out of my soul. An authoritative rendition. Thank you!!!!
From a weary American, all my gratitude for the love, care and craft you've shown in bringing this piece to life. This very tangible reminder of the beautiful things in the world is a blessing, and a relief. If I were still singing in choirs, I would be perhaps mad enough to suggest to the director that we try this, because beauty like this grabs you and makes you want to take part, in any way that you can.
In increasingly chaotic times, this music is best medicine for the heart/mind. Deeply grateful for your generosity in making these 'soul treatments' for us to enjoy!
New favorite recording of Ave Maria. The soprano from Voces 8 has an extremely unique ability to sing with the clear bell tone of a choir of young boy sopranos
Thanks be to God for me finding you on this channel! You all sound like angels 👼 I will be listening to this on loop 🔁❤️✨🙏🌹God’s blessings always to each and everyone of you and your families 🙏🌹
You know its all wonderful that so many have invested in hearing music in all its glory. But so many people are yet to start. It might be hard work at the beginning, but music like this repays a thousand times. Thanks Voces 8.
@6:58 to the end-So yeah at the penultimate chord I stood up and started boxing the air out of joy in anticipation of the final chord and wow! That top pitch on the 5th followed by the fullness of the TTBB in C just locked in! 🎵 Bravo!
This is one of my favorite pieces, and I now consider this to be my favorite arrangement/performance. Full choirs sometimes muddy the harmonies, and the version by Voces 8 alone, while lovely, sometimes missed the lushness of this version. Adding 4 more male voices and 1 more female is the Goldilocks version -- just right! Heavenly!!!
Thank you very much for singing all three verses. I'm so glad to see you guys still working with Ringmasters to produce amazing performances like this.
So many things to love about this arrangement/adaptation, In particular: keeping all voices in essentially the same register, then shifting the entire register; on the verses, having other voices join in unison after the first phrase, in keeping with so much chant tradition, works beautifully. And I am reminded again how in such exemplary voices Andrea is especially blessed, and we in turned are blessed in the hearing. Thank you for sharing this.
We sang this for Kentucky All State TTBB Choir under the direction of former Mormon Tabernacle Choir director Craig Jessop. I had just lost my best friend and I remember singing the stacked "Amens" at the coda and all I could do was weep. Im sure I was a sight just sobbing mid-phrase lol but if only they knew how heavy my heart was and how deeply this song touched me. Job well done!
What a sublime way to start my workday! The only problem with that is that there's no way I can concentrate on work with such gorgeous singing going on. Thanks to VOCES8 & Ringmasters for this magnificent rendering of Biebl's music.
This is my absolute favorite Christmas piece. I have cried many times to Cantus's TTBB version, but to have Voces8 and Ringmasters give it their own touch is so exciting. Thank you for this.
Goosebumps and love and beauty flow all over me as I listen! This performance is a religious experience! I love all the magnificent groups and singers and I praise Franz Biebl for creating this masterpiece.... music that must ascend to the angels up above! (I am a composer, who at some point would like to forward a work or two to you.... what hubris.)
First learned this piece (Men's Chorus) in choir at Holy Trinity Seminary (Irving, TX) in 1984. I've sung it many times in my twenty-two years as a tenor I with Dallas' Turtle Creek Chorale male chorus.
Now I have two favorite performances of this extraordinary piece - 1990 Chanticleer from their Our Hearts Joy album and this collaboration. Stunning. Moving. Ethereal. Transcendent.
I didn’t think the Chanticleer version could be topped as I love listening to counter tenors But the soprano from Voces 8 is like having boy sopranos and makes such a beautiful texture for lack of a better word
Best version I have ever heard! Resounding male sound and floating feminine. And how the solos lift into many voices! Yes! This has rejuvenated my love of this song. Thank you all! ❤
Men, you were absolutely magnificent and Ladies, you were just superb. I shed tears of pure pleasure when I hear this music. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Fresh take on this beloved piece! I don't think i've ever heard it voiced like this before, but it works really well! Can't wait to see Voces8 in London, ON this week!
This is absolutely gorgeous, one of my favorite versions of Ave Maria, and definitely my top listening choice of this song. That C major chord shifting to Bb7 is so unexpected and yet delicious. Thank you for all your deeply moving singing!
Felicidades Voces8 & Ringmasters, ❤ he disfrutado muchísimo
Blessed Feast of the Immaculate Conception, thank you for this glorious performance.
YES - so grateful that these folks are in tune with the Church Calendar and thoughtful enough to post this musical offering!

yes. Yes. And YES!!! Soooo true!
I can rarely get through this piece without my eyes welling up and Voces8 is keeping that tradition going strong. Thank you to Ringmasters, too.
I clicked like before I heard a note. This cannot fail.
Ach so wunderschön !!

Christmas came early this year, I guess. This recording is a lovely gift to all humanity.
Such fabulous harmony. I feel it resonate through my whole body.
May our Lady send you abundant graces for honoring her with your great voices. Amen. 🙏
Thank you so much for such wonderful music! I was very moved. Your " Ave Maria" really touched my heart.
Thanks be to God for me finding you on this channel! You all sound like angels 👼 I will be listening to this on loop 🔁❤️✨🙏🌹God’s blessings always to each and everyone of you and your families 🙏🌹
May the beauty of this music bring you closer to God.
When these two groups with their distinct sounds/styles/origins come together to make music, the result is absolutely stunning.

This is so stunningly beautiful and moving, Voces8. Thank you!
The gift of music in a double package of the best voices on earth. What a gift!!! 🎶
Wow, again, thanks again. Music written for the Blessed Virgin always delights, and moreso when sung perfectly. Bless you all.
I love the tenor solo and the soprano singing like an angel in a stunning treble. Sounds like a boy soprano in the sweetness of her tone. Beautiful!
Their performances so often leave me in tears! Thank you for sharing your amazing talent. It is a blessing!
Chi canta prega due volte. Il vostro e' un canto sublime. Grazie Voces8

One of the most transcendent pieces of music ever written; beautifully done by VOCES8 and Ringmasters. Thank you.

Super thankful to hear VOCES8 on a Monday Morning.

This gave me chills! Moving and beautiful. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Brilliant arrangement. Thank you! Absolutely transcending.
I hope these people realise what a gift they are.
This will forever be one of my favorite pieces of sacred choral repertoire
Thank you voce8. Balm for the soul ❤
Stunning. Worshipful. One of my favorite works. The Amen is glorious. Thank you all for sharing.
A new favorite! Praise be to God!
No one can believe this is written 1964, except for a "jazz chord" that we can hear a couple of times, the first time at 0:41. Still wonderful music!
My spirit soars when listening to this... So peaceful, and yet joyous too! Mmmm... WONDERFUL.
What a sublime way to start my workday! The only problem with that is that there's no way I can concentrate on work with such gorgeous singing going on. Thanks to VOCES8 & Ringmasters for this magnificent rendering of Biebl's music.

Wat een hemelse klankparels. Een ongekend hoog niveau. Liefs en Dank.
Voces8? Voces12? Voces15? I"m here for all of it! How fabulously lush
Gracias y mil veces gracias.
Best version I have ever heard! Resounding male sound and floating feminine. And how the solos lift into many voices! Yes! This has rejuvenated my love of this song. Thank you all! ❤
AH would be perfect is there was a CD release. Thanks for this peaceful piece

Wow. Absolutely spectacular (from a Lutheran to Catholics everywhere). Bravo.
One of the best performances I've heard on UA-cam. Bravo!

Very melodious piece. Thanks for your effort. It's awesome.
My favorite version is the SSATTBB version, which I have conducted many times-you saved the best for last! Bravissimi tutti-exquisite and heavenly!
Just gets better and better…❤❤❤

I was thinking about this song today, came home, looked up the voces8 version, and they reuploaded it! What a happy coincidence.
Absolutely lovely!
