Don’t sell yourself short. You’re doing great. Farming is a lot of work. It has been since 93 that I turned a wheel on the farm. That changes later this year! I appreciate your candor, calmness and desire to learn. Your dad does too, even if he doesn’t show it. You have a skill that we men don’t show, patience and fortitude.

For a petite young lady, Erin's contributions are impressive. Don't worry about what you can't do Erin. The things you can do are very important. You are pulling your weight to say the least. You're a hard worker and really good at the business end of the operation. Thank you for a great video. 🙂

You have no idea how much those little jobs help. Besides the job, they allow everyone else to focus on something specific, which speeds everything up. FYI on those disc conversion. I did something like that with small solid tires. If you take a hot spray bottle and squirt a little bit of warm soapy water into the spot where they sink it, that will help, PLUS get 3-4 bolts that fit that are twice as long. Use them with the driver to pull the disc together (with the soapy water) in 3-4 spaced out holes. Once they are in the right spot, back them out, and now put in the shorter (correct) bolts. That worked for me and saved a lot of time.

Hi Erin. My wife and two daughters have been enjoying your videos. Thanks for making them. My 8yo daughter told us she wanted to be a farmer and that's what lead us to your channel. None of us were prepared for how much work happens on a farm! Shocking... :) Could you do us a favor though and do a video explaining the reason behind certain moisture levels for both soybeans and corn? I've done some looking online and still don't fully understand why you're trying to meet certain moisture levels. I'm sure someone in the chat will try to explain it but I'd rather hear it from our new favorite farmer. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Thank you for turning the music in the background to a lower volume. With headphones it makes video’s so much more enjoyable. God bless you for helping viewers in that way. Growing up my dad called me “Gopher.” Saying “he” would be sent to “Go-for-this or Go-for-that.” My job was going to get things as well or put something up. All the other stuff comes later, especially when faved with having to figure things out. Sort of the necessity is the mother of invention thing. You are a great asset and very needed or everyones job is harder! You go Girl 👧

Waiting for all of my neighbors to get out into the fields and get the planting done. The acreage will be surrounded by corn this year, and I always look forward to seeing the fields turn green in May. Thanks for your videos, I enjoy watching what goes into making a farm operate.

Erin, what is the cost of one center wheel part that you have to take apart? Maybe we as your fans can all pitch in $$ so that you can just keep the wheels set for each purpose so you don't have to take them apart during each season. You can just take the sprocket wheels off, clean them, and put them on the shelve and mount the round rubber wheels from the shelve.

Hey Erin!... love your videos 📹 ❤. I am going to continue the theme in the comments and say you do a lot around the farm and you are fairly mechanically inclined. Erin, a secret is that one of THE hardest things to see clearly and without distortion is yourself. Almost universally they see themselves with a fun house effect. There is a difference between not taking yourself seriously and being able to laugh, and verbally punching yourself. Ease up Erin ..... never be ashamed of honest work...and making and editing videos is Many hours of computer and field work.... peace and prayers ✌ ☮

You are a real sweetheart! I appreciate you and I have never even met you!

If your Dad ever lost track of seed batches in the heat of planting he'd be asking why you didn't spend more time in the office. :) No reason to feel embarrassed if the neighbors see you filming yourself. You're working! Explaining agriculture to folks like me in Los Angeles is useful and builds public support for farm interests. From the number of ads running on your video today, you are making "ad friendly" and click-engaging content, and that means that UA-cam will promote your videos even more.

I don't know about corn & beans. But, in wheat, "old crop" versus "new crop" is a big deal. New crop flour is very prone to making a "bucky" dough that is hard to process. The machines sheet it out and it just shrinks back up. They usually try to mix old with new to reduce the problems, but sometimes you get stuck with all new crop flour & it's a huge pain!!

I can offer a little help about Futures. There is a Sea Shanty called Spanish Ladies, you'll find it on line in the encyclopaedia. In that is a list of headlands the sailing ships used in making their way up the Channel towards London. One was Beachy Head. At Beach Head was a Lloyds Signal Station, (before radio, so flags) as ships passed close by the Signallers would ask the name of the ship, where bound and what cargo. That information would be passed up to London and the buying and selling of the cargo could commence while the ship was still a few days from arriving. The start of the Futures Market.
