“Aaranya”, an agriculture farmstay, is located in a rural setting at the edge of Sasan Gir Lion Sanctuary, Gujarat.
Rather than spending millions on the best technology to create the greenest of green-building when very few Indians can associate with them, while even fewer can afford them, the architect has come up with simple, established, and honest systems, offered by vernacular architecture.
On a plot area of 2.5 acres, the built-form of 6,000 sq.ft. attempts to sit lightly within the grid of an existing mango farm. Each cottage of 500 sq.ft. creates solace for the visitors.
Ar. Himanshu Patel narrates his practice ideology through the story of Aaranya Farmstay Resort. Using local materials, local labor and technology, based on vernacular systems form the core of the design.

Finally found an architect who thinks about all classes of society!! When we think of planning a farm house in our village, I will reach out! The combination of conservation and living harmoniously with trees (we have mango trees as well) and nature and ensuring to use the local materials especially terracotta for the climate is beautiful. Also, a building which doesn’t dominate the site! The best video I’ve seen so far! Lovely!

I have personally talked to Himanshu ji over phone for a resort project . This man is very humble and down to earth . Its a beautiful idea
My take from this is instead of rooms a modular tiny home with a suitable kitchen for each son and a common great kitchen and dining hall and a common great hall as sitting area. No need to build new home for every son that marries. All you have to do is build a tiny home and integrate it into the community like home. This will provide a sense of self-suffeciency as well as connectivity to family.
My search for the real meaning of SUSTAINABLE GREEN ARCHITECT stops here. Hatssoff to your talent...You deserve more....Best Wishes
the idea puncture in a roof is fully good, some trees or shrub will come from puncture and cover the whole roof, will create a charming view, niche technique is totally learning part from this project.❄️

The Architect here nicely summarises, " nature has everything for everyones need but not for greed" - I guess also Gandhiji believed something similar. This proves how professional values and traditional value system can go hand in hand. Sure, makes me believe THIS "architecture is not a sin".
