The house has been weaved around an existing tree in the farmland of 19 acres. The architects wanted the house to merge with the natural setting rather than being the dominant characteristic overpowering it’s surroundings. It is designed around a courtyard that is visually connected from all internal areas without losing the linearity of the space.
Compressed Stabilized earth blocks made from clay of the farmland, ergonomically designed sill levels, multi-functional non-rigid furniture layouts, human-scale-relatability, materiality are the factors that make the house sustainable and enhance the user experience.
Principal Architect Kinnera Varma narrates the design concept of this eco-friendly house in Aroor, Telangana.

Good eco-friendly design and use of materials, which are more of salvaged ones. Efforts put in by architect is visible in her smile and voice.

The explanation of the projects is extremely good. It's sustainable parametric thermal architecture. Indi architecture is very appropriate for tropical climates.

Beautiful, awesome, simple and elegant architecture...loved the neem tree inside the house.....letting outside nature into the house is always beautiful and peaceful but my only concern in the living area are the bugs especially at night time ....hope they have solution for it....

Wondering how would the occupants prevent flies, insects and other creatures entering into the home through those huge windows and the open courtyard. We have a farm house and find all sorts of creatures congregating towards the light as dusk sets in.
Right. But you have to be one with nature.
Appreciate the simplicity... Enjoy the seasons... If not better be with city life. It was good old antiques.

The easiest would be to use net over windows but will uglify, if there is such word, the house. But a thorough research might yield the names of plants and trees that repel or attract such flies. Also burning diyas with certain oil, like flaxseed oil, repel insects. There might be more such techniques and some local might help you on this topic.
We all face that more or less... we lived peacefully in the village sleeping in our aangan or terrace with flies and everything

A short comprehensive video tour of the house would have been lovely to watch, like how the wind blows through the house and how the sun traverse the house. A house built in accordance to nature needs to be viewed from the perspective of nature.

Are there no safety concerns when you leave the windows without grills and open courtyards? Asking because break-ins and misuse of the property is a known issue at farmhouses.
It's Village and Everyone Knows every one and if some one break into they knew who he was and People kept their Important Things very secure instead of making a House like a Jail.

Using material from old house to new house is to be avoided. The material carry thoughts of residents of the old house. Even material of new one carry thought impressions of all people who handeled them. For this reason vaastu shanti is done to demagnetize the materials.

Nice quality construction and very well finished, We are constructing a court yard house it's perhaps the 1st house in the entire 3 districts of Karnataka fully built in natural stone including the roof, design dates back to 900 years old. We are almost 2 months away for opening total construction time 2.9 years. Let me know if you would like to know more..
