at least they die fast when you catch their sides.

I watch your matches while I play Space Engineers, I may pick this game up too, it looks quite fun.
It's like a chess match but with missiles.

I'm always suspicious of modded factions, because although I love them, Nebulous' balance teeters on the point of a pin at all times.
My observation with Tartiflette's faction was that in its original incarnation, the Descartes was simply too powerful, as it brought cruiser (or more) level firepower along with superior speed and excellent frontal protection.
I believe the developers have taken great pains to limit the effectiveness of bowtanking, and yet ships like the Descartes and now the Falcata ships exist. Keeping a nose-fighter balanced against other options in 6dof space is pretty tricky.

fast ships that are reasonably tough if you orient them properly? sounds like something i'd enjoy
though i think if i ever do actually play the damn game at some point it'll probably be with that Kuiper Shipworks mod for no other reason than lots of coilguns (those ships do also look very nice but they're a lot cleaner than the almost "vanilla+" look the falcata ones have so they can feel a touch out of place)
there are only three sci-fi space settings where i don't have a constant primordial desire for more electromagnetic weapons, and those are starsector, stellaris, and warhammer 40k lmfao
anywhere else my highest priority is stuffing as many giant coilguns/railguns/etc as i can onto a given ship, and second highest priority is making sure all of them are functional at all times with no regard for what i'm sacrificing elsewhere to run them

The last paragraph sounds a lot like a blind railcello/railstone actually.

Was this loss more a factor of your allies getting road killed as the enemy drove right through and over them, or your battleship not coming around at the right time/place to disrupt that push they made?
Those cruisers put up a heck of a fight though. Is there value in rolling over to present fresh armour at some point?

Both, probably. Doesn't help that Falc get S2Hs as well, and those demand different PD nets compared to OSP.
Post game discussion also revealed that apparently I was hitting everything except the vitals on the cruisers, to which I quote, "-had terrible aimpoint luck, suprised that they lived even that long-".
      So everthing really.

@@netherane as for the armor part, depends. But particularly if you're fighting OSP, and their plasma to be specific? Yes.
If you have one side plasma'd but the other side is relatively intact, you can present the unstripped side using the roll order. The unscorched side will probably have more healthy modules as well, so if you have the breathing room there's no reason not to.
That said, if you just bowtank and eat all the plasma to the nose this is kind of a moot point. Depends on the situation and playstyle really, to sum it up.
