    This woman must be an incredibly neat and organized person. If I had been doing this, there would be icing all over the counter, myself, the cabinets in the back...lines would be crooked, at least three ruffle lines would need to be removed and it would be very obvious...Good job, Miss Cake Decorator, I don't know how you do it.

    If you were to try to do a tier on a stacked cake with this technique, would you try to pipe it in place on top of the lower tier, or do you have any tricks for moving it off the turntable after it's been piped?

    I used this technique on an 8" cake after watching this video. It looked amazing and more complicated than it actually is. However, for anyone considering using this technique, please ensure you have enough butter cream, as this uses A LOT. It needed much more than i am used to. Also, make sure you give yourself enough time to do this properly and don't rush it (at least 30 mins). Lastly, decorate the cake on the cake board or the surface you plan on using if possible, rather than straight on a turntable first. By not doing this, moving the cake to your desired surface afterwards is much harder and could remove the ruffles from your cake. (This happened to me and i had to redo some ruffles. But i guess you learn as you go!) despite these things to be aware of, it still creates an amazing effect and i highly recommend doing it. Thanks for the inspirational video! Xxx

    Please help! I tried to make this beautiful cake that you created. Did I say the cake you made was beautiful? LOL absolutely lovely. My question is, how can I make my buttercream smoother? It is not grainy but I would like for it to be smoother when icing or piping my cakes. My cake came out so/so. I need much more practice, but my buttercream is not smooth enough.

    Hi thanks for your videos. I think you're amazing! I live in Malaysia where the climate is really warm and humid! What buttercream would be suitable for these kinds of cake decorating? I find that the sweet buttercream is too sweet for the local taste here. Would Swiss or Italian meringue buttercream hold up better?

    • @CakeStyleTV
      @CakeStyleTV  9 років тому

      Sarah Tan Italian holds up the best in warm weather. It still needs to stay in the fridge, like swiss, but it's much more stable. Plus it's less sweet.

    Cake Style Hi, if you were to do a 2 tiered cake with this ruffle cake. what is the recommendation for the amount of butter cream? With a 8" round and a 6" both at about 4" high.

    • @CakeStyleTV
