WTF ? Why would the Dodgers be back in with an opt out ?? It's his opt out, not the Dodgers opt out. If Soto turn out to be shitty, he surely is not going to opt out and therefore the Dodgers are on the hook for the 12-14 yrs for $600+ millions
I was thinking that as soon as they said it. Not sure how this is good for the Dodgers lol Whoever signs Soto to this ridiculous money WILL end up regretting it sooner than later. On a side note, Arte will outbid the Mets! Just watch😂
Okay never mind, I had to take a major crap so I had time to think about it. It's only good for the Dodgers if you're banking on him to be great and he decides to opt out where Dodgers can just not resign him then LOL
I agree with you totally. It's a risk if you sign Soto to a long term contract and he isn't superb or maybe he gets injured during the front end of the contract. Then Soto just opts in and you're stuck with a horrible contract for years. Remember Albert Puhols (another "generational" hitter) with the Angels.
@@remywonderland7507 Yeah so the Dodgers have to hope that he's great the first 3-4 yrs. Still, he wants the same money of money as before 12-14 yrs @$45 millions. That's still $600+ millions. Nothing has changed from before except now, he wants the icing on his cake too.
@@Firephosure Sure you can say because of his age the chances he will be very good the next few years are better than not but I'm hoping the Dodgers don't do it.
If the contract was a team op out after 3rd and fourth season, then the Dodgers might want him. His Dominican birth paper is questionable. Shohei looks much younger than him and he is 30.
Giving Soto an opt out means if he can get more, adios. If he can’t dodgers are stuck.. how does this make the dodgers more interested? This is not giving the dodgers an opt out.. duhhhh
My issue with Soto is that he is worth more to the Mets than the Yankees, and he is worth more to the Yankees than the Dodgers. That means that both of them, or at least the Mets, will go really freaking high.
i don’t get it. a player opt out would not benefit the dodgers in anyway…. in order for that to be beneficial, the latter years have to be a lot lower in annual salary. e.g. $135m over 3 yrs, then $300m over 11 yrs, w/ player opt out after yr 3. but i don’t think that’s what we’re talking about.
Name one South American that has aged well? Name fn 1 ! Even just a role player that has kept his pace..... Sosa was my favorite of all time, not him though. Pedro Guerrero... Nope Gonzo .. nope Alou, DeShields,A-Gone, Pujols, nope nope nope Molina.... Yeah. Got me there. Latin pitcher's do very well tho! Hitters no

We don’t need Soto he’ll no we will never win with Soto has bad attitude he was on a good team with padres and he made no difference
Dodgers don’t need Soto , Soto needs the DODGERS
Would still sign Teo over Soto, and spend the difference elsewhere.
Teo + Adames > Soto. That's where I'm at.
@ agreed!
all the above Fuck the world 😅
@@madvillanmf8650 And trade for Trout, too.
DH - Ohtani
2B - Betts
LF - Soto
CF - Trout
1B - Freeman
RF - Teo
3B - Muncy
C - Smith
SS - Edman
Unless the Dodgers see Soto at 1st base after Freeman retires at the halfway point of his contract, please sign Adames & Teo.
We DONT need Soto badly. We won it all without him. We don’t need him, we want to beat him, AGAIN!! Let’s Go Dodgers ⚾️💙
That’s a lot of money for just a DH
Need proof of age for Soto.
😂😂
Need pitching more than Soto IMHO!
I concur
Always need pitching because there's no such thing as having too much pitching.
Go Dodgers
Just say NO to SOTO. period.

Seems like Soto’s opt out clause is waving red meat to the Dodgers.
THIS
Soto wants to play East
If the contract was a team op out after 3rd and fourth season, then the Dodgers might want him. His Dominican birth paper is questionable. Shohei looks much younger than him and he is 30.
Japanese people age slower.

I wonder if part of the plan in signing Soto is to shift Ohtani on non-pitching days to first base after Freddie’s contract is up?
Soto for 3-5 years @ $50-60 mil per. Then put him in LF and re-sign Teoscar for RF. And Pages as 4th outfielder with Edman in CF.
He is a $45 million player. In 14 years crap players will be making $45 million. A rare chance to get a HOF BEFORE their prime.

If the price is not much different , Soto is the way better player than Teo.. but Teo is a good player depending on wat he is looking for
ppl fail to think that just maybe, Soto wants to come to LA. I think it's a bigger thing than ppl think. He wants to play w/Sho and WIN!
Sign Two.....

Cant believe how many Dodgers fans prefer a good 32 year old over a HOF 26 year old. Its honestly insane.
Juan Soto….all the Dodger dogs he can eat. Do we have a deal?
Name one South American that has aged well?
Name fn 1 ! Even just a role player that has kept his pace..... Sosa was my favorite of all time, not him though.
